So How Good is Squelones Brewing Company? (State of Decay 2 HYPER Community Episode 35!)
Squelones Brewing Company, the second largest base in Meagher Valley coming in at 6-man and 1500 influence.
It is one of the more unique bases due to its double crafting stills that feature the unique ability to produce craft beer that can be further enhanced with the knowledge of bartending.
But how good is it? It once was Fox's favorite base! Is that still true?

I believe farmland compound and lumberyard are tied for the best bases in the game.

Not even close to Whitney Field. They're on on a whole lower tier. They would be "A" tier bases while Whitney Field is the only "S" tier base in the game.

I’ve always just tried keeping 8 people for the same reason you said and just yesterday I recruited the soldiers enclave. Two of them were fine nothing crazy but the other had meal plan as a hero bonus so she immediately joined the team

Mate Not related to this video. You've inspired me to lift up from Nightmare to Lethal. I have tried before and didn't make it from the car to the starter house. This time I've managed to wipe out a heart (in a strip mall by running to an enclave 2-doors-down, with nothing but a sledge hammer), and up till wiping out my medic by having triple plague bloaters go boom while avoiding a plague feral... Thanks! Your series are all awesome.

I hate the bases that have huge blank spaces, Squelones has at least enough room for a 3rd or 4th large in the mid right corner & mid left next to the main gate. Alternatively 3rd large in the mid right corner & 3 to 4 more smalls. If u look how everything fits into the main building beautifully then that same practice should carry over to the outside. So many bases suffer from terrible design, probably the worst is the starter homes with a garage that isnt used in anyway cause its definitely not a large slot.

Because the footprint of the base isn't what it's balanced around. It's balanced around its community size requirement and influence. I think this is a ridiculous complaint. By your logic, the base would be ideal if we just made it more claustrophobic and moved the fence barriers closer into the main compound to remove walking space in the base.

We had a dog named Echo. One of the best dogs I have ever been around. Always wanted to play and have fun. He went to doggie heaven this year. 9 years old. We buried him in the back yard so he would always be home with mom and dad.

To get 12 recruits I just work up to the Builder quest where NPCs come to your base and you can choose whether to recruit them or not. These recruits can go beyond 9, though further recruiting is limited to only the person you have to talk to. After 2 visits if I still have something I want I can exit to the title screen, resetting that quest and getting more NPCs to check out.

If you install the Haven Device in Whitney Field, you don't ever need to leave your base. Install the Haven Device and build a Trade Depot, and then keep calling in zombie sieges using the announcer box. Zombies attacking your base will die before even getting inside, and In every 2 minutes you can generate 200 influence, within a few hours you will gain 9999 influence. Then keep calling traders and buy everything. Haven Device is really a game changer. Whitney Field is my most favourite base now

The Haven Device is not a game changer. You can do the exact same thing without the Haven Device. It's even easier in the beta. I have literally played 2 games simultaneously, 1 on my first monitor, and SoD2 on my second monitor and just periodically click the siege button and farm max influence without the Haven Device. The Haven Device is an overrated gimmick. Its use is to improve siege farming, but it is by no means necessary at all.

@@GitGudFox but don't the Plague Ferals in lethal zone cause problem with the sieges?

They never have before. Not only do you seldomly encounter blood ferals because each farmed siege causes a stacking -8 threat level (for non-beta) meaning the threat level goes to 0 which means low difficulty sieges. The base is also protected by 8 people, possibly more. They can defeat the periodic blood feral that passes by. Whitney Field also allows the God Combo: Primary Care meaning your characters are all nearly invincible. I have farmed Whitney Field with and without the Haven Device without a problem. You may need to babysit the base for the first 2 sieges to until the -8 stacking threat begins to add up, but then it's AFK siege farming.

After doing the math strong painkillers is better than craft beer. If we consider all resources are bought from a friendly trader. Then rucksacks will cost 175. Both food and medicine are 4 so each resource point is 43.75 influence each. With 3 food (131.25 cost) will become 230 influence total. Which is about a 75% profit. For stong pain killers it costs (3 food and 2.5 meds 240.625 cost) that'll become 510 influnce. So more than a 100% increase in profits. So stong painkillers still win out. Though my math could be bad so I'm open to correction

Actually I think my math is wrong so here is the conversion I ended up with considering all resource costs. Beer is 1=76.6 influence Pain killers 1=92.7 influence So all in all painkillers still wins out but not by much. But one has to consider the fact you'd have to have bartending or keep the bootleg enclave alive for the benefit vs just having pharmacology which has more utility.

Yea strong painkillers is better than the bartending buffed beer manufacture. It's just an option if u wanna do something differently

@@ProxMackintosh It would be nice if there were other viable methods to farm influence via manufacturing. Strong painkillers is so far ahead of anything else its not even funny. If crafting facility mods via construction was close to strong painkillers that would be nice. Or just anything really. Crafting weapons at the forge or car repair kits at the auto shop but nothing comes close to strong pain killers. It's kind of annoying honestly

Meager Valley bases are solid but visually not a fan at all for the brewery or the baseball field. The perks are solid but it just doesn’t give any sort of home feel. I prefer container fort or farmland compound despite them being more limited compared to these two. I like a multi purpose base but I also like it to be cool visually

hi after 8 recruited only that 8 can defend the base so anybody you give .50 cal weapons to will not defend the base when a siege hits

It's in your radio commands under Independence as rby said. If you can't find the command, then to unlock it, you have to fully clear a map of plague hearts at least once on any difficulty.

Nobody can beat this game on leathal difficult and if someone is completing this game on leathal difficult they are a god. Ferals are so damn annoying. If you don,t have any car you are dead They game dosen,t want you to win I have being trying for over 5 years no stop. The game whants to psycking you

That's why I play on dread zone,I've already beat it on lethal zone,but it's just annoying,way too much zombies. It sucks when you have to kill like 300 zombies just to loot 1 house.

@@rallyjoakimj9841 Always bring with you stamina and health items, plague cure, avoid fights always if possible and dont go anywhere without car. Impaler or upgraded norma are best cars and dont use any guns on lethal, just crossbows. Save prestige points and recruit red talon soldier, game will be much easier with him.

what is the point of this recruiting when you just can survive endlesly in lethal even with idiots survivors, you just need a self sufficient base and asault riflies, what is the point of the game after? you stay on the roof of your base and watch how your crew is slaughtering everything around

The recruiting is part of the self sufficient base. They can have bonuses like +1 ammo, +2 food, +3 beds etc.
