with Focal Point the game would be practically finished, Power Stuggle is a short chapter (like Insecurity or Duty Calls) and Leap of Faith would not need a new map since it takes place entirely in the teleportation room, perhaps the final scene would require a little job
@@wakerwanderer1702 I doubt that they will expand Leaph of Faith in the sense that they would not create new maps, but that the action would cover the entire existing map (hallways, dinning hall, tunnels). Talking about Power Struggle, I know that they will expand it (as every chapter of BM and BM BS) but not how they did it with Captive Freight and Focal Point, let's remember that like Insecurity, this map is underground
Power Struggle would probably take as long to develop as Captive Freight if not a bit shorter imo. They'll probably even fuse those two final chapters together because let's be honest, might as well do it with how short Leap of Faith is.

Something Crowbar Collective NEEDS to do is update the mod tools. For whatever bizarre reason you can’t really fix the bad ai, or add entirely new entities (those new ones are definitely just reskins of stuff that already exists). They’ve done a truly phenomenal job with environmental storytelling, overhauling old areas, and using scripting to enhance various story moments. But, the ai is super bad and lacks a lot of the small ambient details the different Xen creatures had in the original. The soldiers are also a MASSIVE step down from how they were in the original, when they should’ve used newer hardware to give us something akin to FEAR ai to enhance the experience. Until they fix this or give us better mod tools that allow modders to fix it the game will be held back.
they allow you to use the eyescanner and see your arm pounding on the door. the cargo freight i was fast too im just surviving the ending but the 2 bullsquid and 2 headcrabs are killing me on the ladder i get fucked so ill try one last thing nade em all fast over and over..... till i make it with 2 health hahah
Super excited for Focal Point and beyond. Curious if the team is going to tackle Opposing Force next after BS is done. They might get both expansions done before Tripmine
Honestly I hope they'd make their own expansion. There's enough angles from which the Black Mesa incident could be viewed that haven't been explored yet. Like from a civillian who lives close to the Facility, and is exposed to the first effects of it.
I don't know what happened to the Source engine between Half-Life 2 and Black Mesa, but the changes in rendering have severely impacted the atmosphere.
I don't think the rendering itself is the problem here, more like how BM tries to follow the trend of modern games with everything looking super shiny/glosy and a lacking of art direction, just putting more polygons for the sake of it.
@@quiver5756yes, I prefer fitting art direction over insane specs. Too many graphical mods out there try to maximize eye candy at all cost butchering the original in the process.
Im so excited for when all the chapter release. I’ve been personally waiting for all the chapters to come out first and then play thru the game. Not sure if it’s the best decision but I want the full experience. That, and hopefully it gets it’s own steam page so it can be easily downloaded.
@@vwolf80 well from what I hear, the chapter they’re working on right now is the largest so there’s a possibility it might finish by next year unless they plan to expand the ending chapters

Same here. I know Operation: Black Mesa is in the works, but like Guard Duty it's entirely made from the ground up, and because I want it to have Black Mesa assets, this is a no-go for me.
Agree. I forgot when I enjoyed a game so much last time. Absolutely amazing atmosphere too on top of amazing game. I replay it once a year just for the atmosphere.
Its great, not gonna' take that away from them, but I'm really sad they arn't gonna' continue Azure Sheep's development :( There was something fun and satisfying running around all the tram maps in it XD ((and the Gargantua scenes are damn well done)).
[speaking of source engine limitations] i wonder when will half-life be remade on source 2 engine (and who's gonna do it? valve? crowbar? hecu? or maybe all of them collectively?! [nah valve aint doing it]) (i've had too much hopium, arent i, source 2 isnt even public yet)
half-life source 2 its just half-life source again but with even more clashing visuals and additional bugs. also somehow they failed to beta test it and houndeyes have infinite health and somehow follow you through maps.

Enquanto estes três não lancem, estou jogando o Half-Life Absulte Zero que mudou drasticamente de 2020 para 2023 lkkkkjj uau, o que aconteceu com aquele game que mudou tanto os cenários dele? Enfim, espero que lancem estes três games e ainda continuem bem as suas produções. Esperamos por estes games desde de 2013.
Hopefully they will make this VR ready from the start, or they are teaming up with HLVR mod team as we speak so they tune this and the BlackMesa to vr. HLVR, and the Ep1&2VRMod releases were awsome and unbelievably great to experience in VR. Black Mesa & BlueShift deserves the same treatment!!! Please... 😊

I did enjoy Opposing Force waaaaaaay back when. But Blue Shift always seemed to me like the smaller, less cared about project. I have to guess that they chose to remake Blue Shift first because it's just a lot less work compared to Opposing Force. Personally, I could go without Blue Shift. Opposing Force was better for sure.
You can't remake OP4 in the Black Mesa engine as a mod cause you can't add the new weapons and adding Race X is hard. That's why the other projects remaking OP4 do it from scratch.
Unlike Tripmine, who are only good for talking and writing fairytales, HECU Collective are getting things done. They're currently on top of the foodchain of the HL modding community

I think this looks way better than black mesa itself which makes you think how much wasted potential crowbar collective had and now another mod team is beating them
Yeah another mod team is beating them because they are just using the same assets Crowbar collective built all their assets from the ground up and also brainstormed how to fix xen Now I'm my opinion I don't really like black mesa a whole lot because I think it takes away from the charm of the original
