@@randomslomo1875 my childhood went too fast. I'm 20 in 2 weeks but still feel 16. I can legally drink and I have my drivers licence so I can drive but I haven't done enough of either of those (especially lately) to make me feel like an adult able to do those things. On my 19th birthday I spent the whole day freaking out about how I was 19 and that meant I was 1 year away from turning 20 and now that's only 2 weeks away. Is this what adulthood is like? Constantly freaking out about how you don't feel your age? Because I've been freaking out about this at least 3 times during the past year, and it always happens at 2am. Is 2am just a bad time for me or is it the past year? Because I overthink things way too much all the time but never to this extent about such mundane things. Last year I spent the whole day alone and so I didn't have any good distractions, and this year I'm volunteering most of the day, so hopefully that will be enough of a distraction. Sorry for what ended up as a bit of a rant. Although I think it's helped me stop freaking out, at least for now. I may need to start writing in a journal.
@@lisahenry20 no need to apologize. I think adulthood is different for everyone. In fact in my experience, adulthood is nothing like I, as a child or teenager, imagined it would be. I don't really feel like there is any age at which people "become an adult". As time passes on, you just keep learning and growing. That's awesome that you're volunteering a lot. Doing anything that helps you learn about yourself and others is a really healthy way to continue growing. I think it's totally normal for you to be anxious about getting older, especially at your age. But don't feel pressure to "be an adult" now or at any point. Cause I'm 28 and just now feeling like I'm getting there. But I'm not worried about it anymore. Cause there's never gonna be a day or year where something in my brain clicks and I'm an adult. I'm just gonna keep learning and growing, and so are you. 💜 Hang in there.
I played this game a-lot when I was younger(3 years ago), and I feel obligated to remind you of a few time-savers you could utilitze: For starters, you can make any jump shoot you faster by tilting the front tire over the end of whatever ramp you jump off of(will save you a second or two off the very first level, at least). For clearing lots of small consecutive bumps quickly, (it's mostly luck but) landing your back wheel and bunny hopping from bump to bump is the fastest way(example: 1:02, but this tip is mostly luck based). Just before those speed bumps though, you can utilize another tip: sometimes going slow can make you go faster(the beginning of the level starts 0:57). Most of the time for this game, being on the ground is faster, so by cutting the power of some initial jumps you can more quickly hit the ground and speed up. Actually, the best example of this being useful is the level at 3:32. Here, if you controlled the throttle to only just pass over the top of each hill, you won't waste any more time on air-time. There are also other strats, like positioning yourself to land right at the beginning of a rounded edge to speed up the bike, and more specific level strats, but if you are interested in getting better times I suggest looking more things up yourself(and to better understand my points, since me describing it might not make much sense at all). Look foreward to seening a better time! -A Bike Race fan Ps. Speedrunning with ghost bike would probably be an interesting twist with more interesting strats, if you posted this game again. Look up speedruns with that bike, too, if you get the chance.
4:00-4:03 Dunes 3 can be completed in about 3 seconds with the Ghost Bike, you just have to flip it over at the start because of how the game registers finishing a level. Also Beach was always my favorite stage also.
I have a shortcut on Beach 1. You go on the starting ramp, but almost stop, and you should go in between the loop part and the cycle part. You then keep going. It saves about 10 seconds.
as someone who still plays this game its sorta easy to tell that when he is explaining things he actually has no idea whats going on and is just going with the flow
9:37 "I think this is the optimal way" You can actually jump through the hole in the loop so you don't have to drive through the loop and you can do that on the first jump.

I was the kid that tried to figure out every shortcut possible. Like for instance on that last stage he played you can ride your back tire down the ramp and lean forward when you get to the end making sure your front tire misses the end of the ramp. If you do it right you can get enough momentum and height to jump the entire level completely. Same concept can be used on the level at 4:29 to get enough momentum to jump straight to the next ramp and never have to stop. Also at 6:53 you can bounce your back tire off of the right side track, bounce again off the little floating track and stick on the vertical slope with enough momentum to go over.
A fun little piece of tech in this game, the timer ends when your head crosses the finish line so tilting your head to the front of your bike can save a few milliseconds
I little tip for this game, you finish a level when your head passes by the finish line, so if you put your bike in vertical with your head ahead, you can finish earlier.
ive been playing this game for years and watching you play is so painful to me, theres just so many strategies you arent using and aaaaaaaaa not that i blame you tho, you have played it in forever, and you probably wont be playing it in the future, so no big deal, if anything i just hope this brings more players back to the game, currently its basically a small community of a few thousand people
Optimizations: Everywhere: Utilize turning your bike more when entering/exiting a ramp and when doing loops When jumping over a gap or to get to another section, jump in a way that gives you the least amount of airtime 0:45 go fast enough so you hit the downwards slope after jumping, slow down a bit before the big jump so you land faster 0:57 go a bit slower to get less air time for the first jump, afterwards reach the downwards slope of the first bump after the jump so you wont get slowed down and in return get acceleration and a bigger jump 1:24 just go full speed through the loop 1:30 you dont really have to slow down that much, if you do a wheelie and tilt your bike the other way when the wheel is past the pivot to de-accelerate the bike and stop it from jumping so you can just ride down the road without having to stop and go bit by bit 1:52 no need to slow down, you will have enough speed to make the jump + get less airtime 1:54 go a bit slower up the ramp / break before the jump so you get less air + you can ride it down instead of falling, which is faster + you can jump far enough to skip the last part altogether 3:33 do a wheelie up, break before the pivot to slow down a bit and counter wheelie to get your tire on to the next section and repeat 3:40 dont go full speed, slow down a bit so you can skip the last part altogether 3:50 doing a wheelie whilst in a loop will greatly improve acceleration and speed, do it for all 3 4:30 exactly the same as 1:30, no need to slow down + you get enough acceleration to chain you jumps with the down slope of the next section 5:03 go full speed and skip the slow down part into small jump. You will just jump over it and hit the other side 5:37 jump in a way so your tire lands at the downwards slope to no de-accelerate and rather gain a lot of speed which will help you jump further to end the section 6:40 tilt your bike so you get more air from the jump and hit the top part of the first rectangle with your back tire so you dont get slowed down 7:00 just do a slight wheelie into full speed. if you know you can make it over the top, break so you get less air 7:48 go a lot slower and just skip the whole part by jumping between the loop and the circle speed build up thing 8:33 do a more accented wheelie before the jump so you have enough speed to skip the bumpy section and go straight for the downwards slope 8:42 you can slow down and skip the last loop which is faster and in your scenario a lot faster 8:50 with enough speed you can jump on top of one of the loop things, hit the upwards ramp before the finish line and jump over the gap ||| This one could be a bit hard for a speedrun 9:18 dont slow down, going full speed is best. hit the small saw bump whilst leaning back and lean forwards on the time of impact so you get less air and fly faster through the air 9:21 you can do a wheelie going up the ramp, break before leaving the ramp and do a wheelie to the right and when in the air do a wheelie to the left again you can get your back tire on the ground without having to go onto the loop 9:28 go down slow, tilt your bike to the left without wheeling and tilt it to the right when jumping off. enough speed and direction to do it without going up and down 9:47 do a wheelie going up the ramp, break and tilt your bike to the right at the right moment to just jump out of the little cave, drive over the first u shape and go full speed over the second to get enough speed so you can jump over it and go the second way which is a lot faster. you can do these individually if step 1 is too hard 10:19 go full force and hit the loop thing with your front wheel to push you back onto the downwards slope to save time still give you enough speed to hit the upper loop thing and skip the whole saw wave bumps 10:29 less speed, less air, more ramp, more jump 10:37 do a back wheelie while braking to skip the having to use the u loop to get off the ramp 11:43 if you utilize turning your bike in a loop better you can get enough speed to jump over the wall 12:10 after the jump tilt your bike to the left so your back wheel is about as high as your head to get more reach 12:30 when spawning keep the bike a bit leaned to the left and before the jump tilt it to the right to skip the whole level there are many more skips that are a lot harder and take more time to perfect, so i didnt mention them.
I loved this video because my mental suffered even worse than eazy's. This man does not know the speed tech in this game. Then again, I went way too hard into this game when I was young. I didn't want the three stars, I wanted to be world champion. It didn't help when the randoms in multiplayer switched to the ultra bike after losing 4-5 times in a row.
