Lily didn't actually strike him, she tweeted this and clarified it. Toast had the idea, he messaged her, she was up for it but then he changed his mind. He just used the screenshot of the conversation to troll people. He either got a legit DMCA strike for Naruto or Death Note or a fake one from someone (Like Hasan's).

why does this feel like this is the same as calling the police on a neighbor whose smoking weed in a state that hasn't legalized it... Why are these streamers caring what other people are streaming? You are not god, you are not a vigilante, and all the smaller streamers who were banking on these streams watching tv shows are going to get the brunt of this. yeah no you are correct... its also put those companies on hardcore watch. I believe after it there was a big increase of legit anime critique creators getting slammed. Its not going to hurt toast or ludwig or any large creators with fanbases. @@ara3368 I mean you say that but given like 90%+ of streams are videos game and such, it falls into the same content space. Streamers stream content from games which many of the audience may not even own. The audience is still freeloading enjoyment of content they don't own either way. This, however, is not generally enforced because it tends to be free marketing that attracts more buyers. But if the only difference is "Our series/movie isn't ENOUGH content so people don't come buy it later", it also kind of undermines the significance of the copyright claim. Whole thing is a legal mess.

I don't care for react streams so I didn't care really, patiently waiting for that to pass. BUT Toast's high and mighty "people believe anything" is so dumb. The only source anyone has about a ban is the streamer. We have sources confirming he got banned, that's the extend of info anyone gets. There is literally no way to fact check the length so how can you hold it against anyone?
