Fun Fact: This was a Creepypasta that got fairly popular. Then somebody made a game out of it. Pewdiepie played that game, and that drew traction to the OG story. But, the original Creepypasta was poorly written, and was removed from the Creepypasta wiki. And the creator, JCTheHyena, instead of taking the criticism to heart, threw a fucking tantrum.

The old original Sonic.exe is probably the scariest, especially since it used to say your actual name at the ending. Unfortunately, the new version of the original cut that part out.

It's nice to see someone taking this game somewhat seriously. I feel like a lot of these creepypastas are very easy to make fun of, but people tend to forget that these projects were very much a product of their time and drastically influenced the direction of online content. Having Ryan play through Sonic.exe and trying to see its positives is a very refreshing experience.
I think what people hate most about EXE was the story behind it. Looking back it aged poorly and brought the actually decent game rendition (The only good part of the whole thing) down with it because of the hate train. I think it would have benefited with a better story.

@@ali-kun7038 It was one of the first that spawned the whole trope. I don't recall any other story/creepypasta having the exact premise. People started doing the trope because of EXE's popularity trying to recreate the same thing which ultimately is why a lot of people hated video game CP's because they all started to sound the same besides BEN Drowned or NES Godzilla. Point I was saying before was that the game version of EXE is the only good part of the whole story including all the fangames like PC port or Spirts Of Hell.

Some also have voice acting. Not good voice acting but hey. You shouldn’t go into fan games expecting good voice acting. Some probably do, but there’s only so much you can do with a low budget.

I remember being a 10 year old kid watching Markiplier's game play and legit had nightmares of Sonic.EXE coming to get me 😂 these games are definitely a product of their time since creepypastas were on the rise and you couldn't really prove/disprove the stories, but at the same time watching them is very nostalgic.

I’m sure you have seen these comments 101 times already but if you’re planning to do more I’d recommend Spirits of hell or Nightmare begging. And there’s a very well made FNF mod that I’m sure you’ll like especially the secret 4th song

I remember having trouble sleeping for a whole month after watching Sonic.exe content when it came out. It was years ago, and yet I still can't look at the unfamous "I am god" picture, it still scares me ! I guess that's what a simple yet well done creepypasta about your childhood is capable of :)

Also, the remastered version (2nd game) is assuming that you have played or seen the OG version of sonic.exe, as it’s saying things such as “some things never change” and “you’re just as slow as last time”
Ryan its hard and confusing but each of the characters can survive in the original. There are different endings if you save some or all of the characters.
Wouldn't believe you make a video of it, if you ever want there's also the PC port which is more scary and really well done, there's also two mods of FNF about Sonic.exe, hope we'll see you playing them and nice video as always
