@@TheOzzyJedi I think people don't understand outlaw in the context of Star Wars. An outlaw is someone who's going against the will of the empire in some way. But you have to remember that the empire is evil in Star Wars. The Stormtroopers don't arrest Darth Vader, they go after the rebel alliance that are the Jedi. So being an outlaw in Star Wars doesn't mean you're stealing from everyday people and a bad person, it just means you're going against the empire, going against the law.
It could of been a 10 out of 10 if they added all the shit people want: -Free roaming on your ship in space -Fully customizable character creation (Including alien races) -Able to be the heart of gold outlaw or the evil villain outlaw (Kill and rob friendly NPC's) -Able to steal and sell/keep speeders and other space ships -Detail weapon/Vehicles/gear customization (Think Boba Fett or Cad Bane) -More like 10 fully realized planets including Nar Shadaa and Coruscant (Main hubs of crime) -Become a bounty hunter or smuggler and have other bounty hunters hunting YOU throughout the game. My point is, the game had the framework to be epic, to be something groundbreakingly fun for Star Wars fans, But they picked a safe basic option instead.
100% agree, you can't even steal other speeder bikes or land speeder vehicles. Since this was the first thing that Han did in the movie Solo they would of implemented this. Nope you just whiste and you bike appears..
The only game I've preordered the last couple years has been Age of Mythology Retold coming out in a few weeks cause it's the same as the original except better myth units Lol can't go wrong with that.
never preordered a game but I don't go around screaming "do not preorder" I think it is silly to do so, having this ego trip of righteousness, A hero complex. it is their money and really doesn't affect you. and people get too sentimental on these issues when you got options..dont like how a game or the company/publishers are going? there are others. all in all, this game seems interesting, the reviews come out well i might consider it.

My eyeball test says this game is worth mmm $15 tops after 6 months. Framerate doesn’t look smooth based on his footage (4090 he claims?) Gameplay, UI and facial movements look like I’m watching a starfield playthrough. At least the enemies react to getting struck by blaster shots.

The reason these Games get all the Justified hate, is Ubisoft wants $130 for preorder or a Dumb Subscription to access basic features they announced to everyone but in order to do Jabba Palace missions nope fork over that extra $$$$$ the Base Game is $70 and Gutted Ubisoft made another Assassin clone game but instead of a cloaked Assassin your a Girl with a blaster... but the Rest is 100% the same. It 100% deserves the hate! X-defiant got little hate because its a good game and not demanding so much $$$$ for a safe striped down game that nobody really asked for. Just like Skull and Bones Everyone wanted a good Pirate game like Black Flag, but nope Ubisoft makes a game worse then what they released in 2013!!! Ubisoft got a W with Xdefiant, and I never thought I would say that, but yeah $130 for a game... its no wonder people flock to smaller dev studios like Larian, or Hello Games... I knew from the getgo it's not game of the year. But I knew that there is fun to be had in the game. All I want is a single player game with story n action n this has it so that's why I getting it. I don't care about paying the money cuz I love gaming n that's where my hobby money goes. So when the game is ready to be played I'll sit back with my big ass 4k TV my ps5 my coffee n enjoy a single player game!

I always have trouble with ppl who were invited by the company to play a game early and then make a review. Although the company doesn’t pay for u to make the review they make you sign a contract of what you are not allowed to say. Those contents include story elements and certain negative aspects. Ubisoft is known for that too. That’s why I never trust these things

It's so refreshing to see a content creator addressing this. I kept thinking, "Am I crazy or does this not look like a terrible game but just an average game? when companies attack fans for not liking what they are doing. thats a problem. i would also state that you are wrong private tours of disney, light sabers need to be disclosed andthey weren't . we know first hand the reviews from L.A. play test where ubi had final perview on content. taking anything from them creates inherent bias. the devs aren't the problem the publishers are. I think the game looks fine like you said standard ubisoft fare. but things around it have been shady for sure.

I don’t care if it’s the world’s best game ever created. The pricing should get it a 3 score on its own. The cheap version has a mission cut out and delayed access for the price of a normal game. The price jumps to $109 fukin dollars just for the full game and “early access “ I.e The actual release day.
If people are mad, and I'm included, its because we're mad that Disney finally has the first go-ahead for an open-world Star Wars game since 1313, and they gave it to Ubisoft, a company notorious for making the same game with each iteration (Farcry) or making huge open worlds with serious bugs (Assassin's Creed lately), and just overall missing the mark (Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, The Division, Rainbow 6: Siege). And Outlaws just looks like its headed in that "mid" 7/10 direction

The UI being in your face is never just a nitpick, and never get into the habit of thinking so. Lest you let them become COD and hire the Hulu guy to design game UI.
its a nitpick these days as 90% of games allowing you to turn most of the HUD off, compared to say games in the 2005-2015s where it was all super UI heavy with zero options
It's not that I think you're a shill, and it's not even about how you rate the game. The real issue is the influence that marketing has on content creators nowadays. I have no problem with content creators or influencers receiving sponsorships or free review copies, but once that happens, their credibility takes a hit. In reputable journalism outside of gaming, accepting freebies is often frowned upon, and in some cases, it can even get you fired. My rule of thumb is that when a product or service is received for free, skepticism is warranted because it's human nature to introduce bias. "You can't have your cake and eat it too.", essentially.

Atp there’s no reason we should be expect 10/10 to release so constant, they are 10/10 games for a reason and for that itself is a reason why in no way or form should we be expecting that level of game all the time. kinda above average games are necessary, but nowadays people forgot wtf average even mean and just regurgitated what they see on social media and just trash on games if their not 10/10 masterpieces. Gamers are getting more and more frustrated that these multibillion dollar companies can only churn out broken, glitchy, mediocre games. With the advancement of technology it also means people have waaaaay more options and many things to do with so little time. Gamers want games that are worth our hard earned money. Just about every game that releases is a glitchy unpolished mess with poor story and gameplay, people are just sick of it.
Every ubisoft game is a 7 or 8/10 yet we're led to believe based on toxic trolls on the internet that ubisoft are doomed and all their games are trash. I didn't play AC valhalla for 3 years because i was told by RU-vid and twitter it was awful.. well im now 51 hours deep and still enjoying it, it takes alot for a game to keep me intrested for over 50 hours so clearly it isnt trash like i was led to believe

Games are cheaper now than ever before. If game prices followed inflation they would be $150 for the base game. Not including any dlc. For all the dlc it would be into the $200 range. Games are cheap

We shouldn’t settle especially with stuff we support and like or they will get away with what we let them. We already accepted unfinished games. Compare Outlaws for $130, to Space Marine 2 for $110. You can’t get the full content of the Outlaws base game for less than $100 since they intentionally left out campaign content in the $70 edition. A lot of hate is from recent experiences with Massive releasing incomplete games launched in horrendous condition after lying to gamers, I.e.; Division 1, Division 2, For Honor, and AC Mirage. How can Ubisoft charge $100 minimum for a complete version of the game that you said may only be a 7/10? Here’s my question for you, is a 7/10 game worth $100 for the full BASE game? This was a awesome video. I do want the game but will wait for a sale. The slide animation really bugs me. Also the way she knocks out storm troopers i feel she should have had a club or baton.
But for a lot of money.....and a DLC at launch that isn't included in the base game....and micro transactions (skins) for a non-online game....no thanks...
This is a good video, personally, I think this game is going to be mid, there is nothing impressive so far as you mentioned. Sadly I don't play games even if it's Star Wars that just aim to be OK, and definitely not for the Price Ubisoft is selling it at. The best is to wait for a Steam Release and a Heavy Sale. Haters that review bomb mid-games to oblivion are definitely wrong in doing so, It is our duty to help Publishers and Devs by giving constructive feedback that matters.
i dont get the issue with the pre order, have people been living under a rock for the last 15 years? there are MANY MANY games that you can pre order the season/expansions before launch, the most recent one i remember was Spiderman 1 on PS4 you could pre order a version that came with the season pass that contained 3 extra story DLCs this is far from a new thing, but of course because its Ubisoft people treat it like its some new evil thing
You don't get it because you are young. But if you are over 30, it's absolutely disgusting because you have experienced what it was like to have a complete game and no day one patch, because patching/DLC was impossible.

Thanks for an honest review of the game. I've been playing it since the early release date and love it. There's a few glitches and some things that maybe could have been better. If you are a Star Wars fan and enjoy being in that World it's a fun game and I definitely see repeat value with the choices and consequences associated with each choice. 20 hrs into it so far.
This game doesn't look very deep to me, but idk why so many people are dogpiling on it. It definitely looks like a game with a fairly large scope and lots of interweaving mechanics, and the environments looks great.
I've noticed any recent discourse surrounding entertainment (video games, movies, music, TV) is often populated by young viewers (18-20) who've been raised on "ragebait" put out by obvious grifters who know negativity = clicks and revenue. As a result, they're entire attitudes have been shaped to be negative/narrow minded by default, and it's not healthy. As an older consumer of entertainment, I just ignore it because gone are the days of evaluating something for yourself, let alone not having to go to extremes to express if you do, or don't like something. It's OK to not like something, but not OK to try and bully others into feeling the same. Wallowing in negativity is all some of these kids know, but it's because they're impressionable and many lack the self-confidence to form opinions on their own, and/or just move on if they don't like something in a civil manner. This is a very real side-effect of internet culture and its getting worse, IMO.
I think it's ok to 'bully' someone about their taste in games if the game is actually a terrible game. For example, people will defend games like Destiny 2, Overwatch 2, CoD, or even Suicide Squad to the high heavens, even though those games are actual shit. You point out EVERYTHING wrong with the game to them and they refuse to acknowledge that the game is, in-fact, terrible and continue to swear up and down that it's the best game they've EVER played. At that point, it's perfectly acceptable to poke fun at them for having terrible tastes. Hogwarts legacy though, is a game I unfortunately don't enjoy, but I know that game ISN'T terrible and can understand how people might like the game. So I have no issue with people liking games I don't necessarily enjoy myself, but people that will defend slop like Suicide Squad WILL 100% be made fun of.

I've had it since the 24th August, the first 2 hours is basically the tutorial, very linear. Gets much better after that I'm around 6-7 hours in and I've only just got to the open world. Had no space battles yet so looking forward to that. I'm a huge star wars fan so maybe I'm biased but i love it. It's all i wanted the game to be. Oh and to be fair i did spend around 2 hours playing Sabacc.

Finally! A none biased honest review! I've been getting fed up with all the negative reviews I've been watching from people that have only play tested the older builds. I've been looking forward to this game and I knew it wasn't going to be game of the year (Space Marine 2 will probably take that title), but my mojo for this game has been getting less and less with all the negativity. Thank you sir for this honest review. I will definitely be playing this upon release happy that it will at least keep me happy.

It's interesting: people are hating on Star Wars Outlaws for remaining consistent to Ubisoft's genre/mechanics and calling it a copy of their previous games; while people are hating on Dragon Age Veilguard for changing their style, claiming it doesn’t feel like Dragon Age anymore...
These are two very similar but different issues. One is an issue of having new games of different franchises be too similar to each other, while the other is an issue of a new game in the same franchise break that franchise's identity. Designing new games after establishing a developer legacy is a delicate balancing act: innovate too little, especially across franchises, and your game feels like a rehash; innovate too much, and the game risks losing its franchise or developer identity. Fans find Outlaws disappointing for sticking too close to its peers, while Veilguard strays too far from what Dragon Age fans love.
@cutsceneentertainment6706 I get what you are saying, but I think at the same time after X amount of games, developers with fall into a system or style that works for them, thus establishing a brand image and a fan base. Fans know when playing a Bioware game for example, they expect companions that you can charm, it's in Dragon Age, KotoR, Mass Effect, Baldurs Gate, yet despite knowing this mechanic will be rehashed, they buy it anyways. Why? Because they like this rehashed feature and want more. There is no need to reinvent the wheel when you have a system that works and a fan base that keeps coming back for more. Trying to always innovate and revolutionize, like Bioware did with the new Dragon's Age, only disapoints that fan base. So I don't really understand why people expect Ubisoft to suddenly change tracks and build an entirely different type of game than they are known for. At any rate, the reason Ubisoft was picked for an open world Star Wars game in the first place, is BECAUSE people like the way they do open world (their brand identity) and wanted that same treatment to be applied to Star Wars. Why would they change it then?

The fans want the same general Ubisoft formula but greatly improved, and I suppose this new Star Wars game just feels like more of the same with little to no innovation at all. Me personally I don’t think he game looks as awful as many are saying, my problem stems from the fact that is looks like the same Ubisoft slop that they’ve been releasing for years. This game could’ve and should’ve been better especially since this is the 1st open world Star Wars game.

I just find it strange that everyone Ubisoft invited over to test the game are saying the exact same thing and giving it a 7/10. They are also saying "I'm not a shill, dont call me a shill bro or you're an idiot" its awfully self defensive when you don't really need to be. My issues with this game are the typical Ubisoft lack of new ideas and innovation. They print out the same game with a new skin year after year and people are bored of it. Stealth, empty open worlds, companions, parkour, marking targets, hundreds of meaningless things to click and collect. It's Ubisoft 101 and it's a shame they didn't want to try something new with Star Wars.
They have to sign an NDA. If he didn't get invited to by Ubisoft, I'd take him more serious, but that's not the case. Anyway from personally experiencing their games of late, I'm not hyped for it in the least.

In my perception these days there are even more creators shitting on games before they played them because that makes them more popular. However as I’ve been watching a bunch of Outlaws videos recently trying to decide whether or not to get it, I guess I’ve triggered the algorithm and here you are. This has to be, one of the best honest reviews of Outlaws I have seen. It’s clear that you are a gamer first and foremost who doesn’t jump on the bandwagon. So if I’m honest, your video has just reiterated to me what I already knew deep down, that outlaws is gonna be worth playing, it may not be a day one purchase, more than likely a sale purchase but it is a fun game. You’ve certainly gained a sub from me, and again Thankyou for being so open and to the point. I really liked that.

It just looks boring, I won't be playing this. I'm on Squadrons at the moment, not bad. I don't think there's any particular SW game that's brilliant, Battlefront 1 and two was a joke. As to the fandom, I agree, they make their minds up way too rashly, and being proven wrong is not allowed. I'd LOVE IT if this game turned out to be great, I'd play it for sure, but even your totally fair review just doesn't give me incentive.

This is the type of guy who would say advertising doesn't work on me. Well advertising does work including on you. If you get free trip/hotel/nice food/goodies/ etc you are going to be influenced in your sub conscious creating a bias whether you like it or not it's happening.
Well I’m looking forward to the game, I’m weary because of course Ubisoft has not had the best track record of late but I played Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and thoroughly enjoyed it. Considering it’s Star Wars which is easily my favourite franchise I’m pretty excited. I’ve got a brain rattling around in my dome piece somewhere so I’m not tearing the game to shreds because again it’s Ubisoft but I will wait and be hopeful because 7/10 is great and I can overlook facial animations being a bit pants because I’m assuming most of the people you’ll be speaking too are bloody aliens.

But when you played it was a closed testing area in optimal situation. BTW, what else did they give you when you went?
I wasn't paying attention to the game and I've been a big Star Wars fan for around 50 years. I played SWTOR from early access to about 2 years in. Then I flip-flopped between Guild Wars 2 and SWTOR. Each one has things I truly miss in the other. What you described actually sounds like fun. I want to try the Jedi: Survivor games, but the Parkour stuff scares me. I'm a tactician, not a micro-movement on the controller person. I'll also say that when I'm playing Star Wars I want to play a Jedi. But I'm willing to give a scoundrel and her sidekick a chance. I will reiterate what somebody below said, more or less. I think this game and the Survivor games could have had a character creation system, let us build our own Jedi Survivor, or our own Scoundrel It would have changed almost nothing in the game and made fans happier. Will I hate the game because it's not there? Not really. Ok, no, I'll backtrack on the "change almost nothing" I work with 3Ddigital art, have for about 20 years. Smooth flowing clothing would be painfully difficult if you could change too much about your character.

As for this game I don’t know what to think of it personally but that’s it i’m just waiting for the third Jedi game, but let’s be real. We probably won’t be getting a trailer for that in the next year and a half at least…
He's saying he was not paid to do the video, of course they paid for his flight and accommodation..... was he supposed to pay a fortune on a flight and hotel room to test some company's game for free and then have a return flight and do a video whilst being out of pocket?

As an actual Star Wars fan (not part of the Fandumb Menace), all I wanted was for this to be a solid 8 out of 10. Seems like most people say that's where it should sit, and I'm happy about it. Set your expectations low and you're a lot less likely to be disappointed. I just want to have a fun Star Wars game where I can "pew pew pew" instead of swinging a lightsaber, and that's what I'm going to get.
Most legit fans were critical about the game since day1, it was presented and looked bland and mediocre. Compared to JFO, the initial reception was WAY more positive.
how does the constant hurricane winds make the game seem more real? it's incredibly off-putting and unrealistic. the witcher 3 had the exact same thing and i absolutely hated it.

I also don’t go out of my way to say something different aswell if I do genuinely happen to believe what most people do. It’s all about that balance

When games started to be used by activist developers to perpetuate identity politics. That being said, I think the 'outrage' for a lot of these games is ridiculous, and I don't think this particular game deserves all the hate. Ubisoft, on the other hand.. I'm not sure how I feel about supporting them. Remarks from their CEO were enough to put me off of paying for their games ever again. So, I might wait for this one to be cracked, or pick it up at a very reduced price later.
I've played every Assassins Creed game to completion and usually enjoy them enough to come away happy. Last time was Mirage and I really enjoyed that game. I also play Star Wars games to death so this game looks to be my type of game. It's not for everyone, but I like it.

The problem is star-wars theory literally put out a video saying that ubisoft wouldn't allow him to have a free opinion on the game for a review and talked about the contract itself and its conditions, because of that he turned them down. Its even worse when a 3rd party company got caught out vetting reviews. which a RU-vidr had to remove their review, because it wasn't to their approval. Either way it doesn't look good from what iv seen.
The Star Wars outlaws hate didn't just come from nowhere you know, people saw the different gameplays published by ubisoft and IGN showing how terrible the game is, plus you telling me ubisoft paid your trip and hotel and even offered you trip to Disneyland and you were allowed to say what ever you want on the game ? The main issue is that even after gamers pointed out what is wrong with the game ubisoft didn't care to give an appropriate answer to that and about the fact that you're a paid shield once again doesn't come from nowhere there are articles about that and you also never denied being paid a trip to disneyland. There is a big youtuber who was contacted by ubisoft too to play the game as you and he said to ubisoft he want to be able to say whatever he wants and ubisoft refused
I mean see what also happened with Dragon age veilguard. The cyberhooligans gathered over a failed first trailer ( Another subject of its own). However the game reveal put everything into persective and they still gather while the game seems to be in a good direction and expectations. The point though is the cyber hoolingans not if DA-V will be a good one. Cyber hooligans is also a wave of misinformation that should be addressed.
I'm excited for Star Wars Outlaws. I pre-ordered ps5 physical stranded version with the season pass at the Gamestop I shop at. It will be the 4th game I buy this year.

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely helps me to make my decision. From everything im seeing. I Definitely will get it. Maybe not day one. But it's interesting enough. A solid 7-8. Thats good for me. Yes the main character looks horrible. But it's starwars i can pretend she's an alien.
The fact that Ubisoft has got the game out there so much, in preview events ect, tells me theyre are confident in the game, which gives me hope and yes i have pre ordered. Im keen to be apart of the star wars universe.

I just subscribed. Thank you for your honest review. I'm a big SW fan, enjoyed Outcast, Survivor, and many other Ubisoft games. I was so discouraged by the hate I was seeing on this game, but every time I see footage, it just makes me excited to play it. For me, it looks like a 7/10, and if I find a mod that replaces her Michael Landon hairstyle, it'll be 8/10. Also, thank you for calling out the haters. The extreme negativity around so many AAA game releases is misleading and unjustified. If a new game doesn't check every box on my personal list at launch plus do my dishes, it does not mean Ubisoft's team isn't trying to put out the best game possible, or that it won't be on par with most other similar games that have given me so many hours of fun gameplay!
Well personally I like most Ubisoft games. I am a huge Star wars fan so I'm sure I'm gonna love it. As far as the pricing. I was paying $60 dollars for Nintendo 64 games back in the day. Shits expensive these days. I preordered the base game. If I love it I will upgrade the base game. I literally just subscribed to you bc I appreciate the honesty. Looking forward to more videos.
I think you are in for a rude awakening when you get the game , as another you tuber said it is one of the most terrible games he ever had to play and he probably will no longer be send games or be flown to ubisoft events , and you truly believe that is his honest opinion lol
or he could have fun, there’s nothing in this game that is even close to broken, flawed, or fundamentally bad. in an era where games are released broken and literally slide show performance on next gen consoles, JEDI SURVIVOR, the worst game isn’t gonna be the one that actually works from start to finish and the gameplay is up to the standard for modern titles .
