They can't get the cool factor of Alliance and Horde working together right anymore because they don't take their own story seriously. They shouldn't be helping each other outside of really dire circumstances. They should hate each other viciously for all the terrible things they've done to one another, and that hate, just like in real life, should persist after the greater threat is dealt with because at that point they have only each other to worry about. But they don't do that. They don't care. All those ruined lives and destroyed homes mean nothing to the people that inhabited them, all the friends lost in war and valiant sacrifice of heroes who had their entire lives ahead of them cut short mean nothing, because blizzard wants to write this garbage peace story instead of anything resembling faction conflict. And the story is worse for it.
