I did a similar challenge: I counted how many monitor lizards i can find walking along the Punggol Waterway between Safra and Punggol Oasis. 😅 i found 7.

Bishan park used to remind me of pasir ris park alil but now it kinda looks like a swamp, not sure if its because the plants have not fully grown.

yeah tbh the plants are very "wild-looking" now as compared to when Bishan-AMK park was re-opened! I think they're growing pretty well!! 😂

Ahhhh I keep seeing the striated heron in the longkang near a hawker center i frequent. TIL its name :D

I did spot 10 species of birds in my home's backyard in the new village for an evening including a pair of oriental hornbill birds

If you go down to hougang-sengkang river, you can find..... large monitor lizards. They prey on waterfowl and larger fishes.

Aye yeah lots of monitors in our rivers!! Actually during this walk I saw one eating an eel too!!

Yesterday afternoon i took a walk with my daughter n we saw the purple heron + a very pretty kingfisher (twice) fishing near MacD at Bishan Park... both at close range. Saw 2 monitor lizards too. This is amazing. Saw 4 turtles squeezing onto a rock too. Such a funny sight😂

@@LittleRedJungle Not enough time for photo. It was huge but as huge as flamingo. And long neck. Kena shock abit when it appeared out of nowhere as it flew off. Cool experience.
