You did that with ONE RING LEFT!? It seriously couldn't have been more climactic than that. You had less than one second to finish them, and if you messed up the QTE at the end you would have just died right there. Incredibly impressive.
I beat it after going through an arc of not liking it, because the game kicked my ass and then body slammed me. But when I beat the last trial I was so hyped then I beat the final boss yesterday and teared up because of how amazing it was. Sonic is back he’s back no more dark age!
This is exactly how I felt the entire time from Master King Koko's trial, every second of it. The difficulty spike is absolutely insane thoughout the Final Horizon update, and climbing the trial towers made me absolutely livid. However, I was slapping my table with excitement and had such a huge adrenaline surge at the final boss, worth the pain and mental anguish.
Legit, this was so much better than the bullet hell version of the final boss, even with having to figure out what was going on with this boss it felt like a REAL Super Sonic Final Boss
The final boss is confusing at first due to the game not telegraphing what should be done, but if you understand that the game has been built upon the Cyloop gimmick since the beginning then it becomes so much more clear how to beat the boss. Would argue this is the best boss in the game when you know what you're doing. It's so cool.
@@AberrantSuicune I was planning to 100% it before beating the update but after awhile around the time I had to do Kings titans trial. Which would have drove me mad if i hadn't switched to easy which is sad. I love the update but some of these things don't make sense honestly. I appreciate them not holding our hands but the jank.... Did you know that if you use the cycloop on the 2nd titan you can't even attack for the whole duration of it because sonic is somehow positioned far below him for no reason at all??? Good update but DAMN SEGA give them time to polish the game before releaseing stuff like this. I don't usually care that much and tolerate Jank since it usually doesn't effect my enjoyment if its not intrusive. I had no problem playing base frontiers when it first dropped compared to forces before it which left me disappointed and not satisfied. Time is everything and I HOPE that they are given plenty of it next time this could have been a shining diamond. The sequel w.e it may be can't follow the same faults this has had.
I mean the cyloop part was clear, not really the "you have to dodge to switch to the cord" part, basically nowhere else in the game do you dodge to switch targets really
Dude awesome job I can't believe you just had one ring left that's crazy and also when the update first came out I stayed up until 4:00 and then took a break after that fifth trial I was so tired but still love this update and the super sonic power up:)

It's actually kind of validating to know that I wasn't the only one who got confused on this boss fight. Looking at this fight again, it's actually really hype, but I was so frustrated with the game not properly giving me the information needed to beat this fight to really care, and I feel like that's this update's biggest problem. It does do a lot of things right, but there are just WAY too many instances of the game being too confusing, or in the case of the final trial, bullshit.
Agreed. As hype as this boss fight was, it was horribly put together and unpolished and just unclear in terms of gameplay. Idc if ppl say its a “skill issue”, it’s literally just bad game design.
I caved and looked it up how to beat the boss on Reddit, all i found was how to take out the Evil Hose and cyloop his gun off his back, thankfully I avoided spoilers
I just finished the dlc and WOW ITS SO COOL. Probably puts frontiers as my favorite sonic game. But that’s not I wanna talk about. Y’know, I just have a feeling that it’s not just gonna be “sonic has to stop eggman from doing his evil scheme”. I feel like there is more to come and the franchise becomes serious. Maybe this will open up a character arc for eggman, kinda like this game. It just begs the question: are there foes that are stronger than the end? Solaris is literally a sun god, and the end blows it out of the water, so I wonder if power creeping will become a thing. But yeah, this is a really good dlc that destroys the other ending in this game
It took me a while to complete the boss rush challenge but it was a good learning experience. I managed to get the Giganto battle perfected to the point where I could beat it in 35-40 seconds. Fighting the Knight was tough until I learned mid fight that you can skip the shield surfing phase by sidestepping mid combo while attacking the shield.
Bro I went through the exact same thing as you when I played through The End. I was getting bored and frustrated and was a little irritated that Sonic didn't die when he got smashed. Had to look it up, sucks that Sage or the game doesn't telegraph what to do.
