I really like Dr Kristin as a vet. She is gentle with the horses, knows how to gain their trust, & is very knowledgeable. It did take the whole team to pull off a vet visit to 27 animals in a few hours. Kudos to everyone on the precision of getting each horse ready & note-taking on each horse’s assessment. Oh, and the cleanup involved as horses were leaving presents & mud behind.

@sisswift8423 talking at people doesn't make you very professional. Talking To people does. Not once did I say she wasn't "professional." Dr. Kristin is more into explaining treatment options than saying a horse should be euthanized

@sallywaites8517 I don't care one bit how you personally interpret my comment. Dr Nancy doesn't have the connection with people the way Dr Kristin does. Dr Kristin Isn't influenced the Dr. Nancy was. Pay attention. I don't care about egos or personal feelings. They mean nothing to me.

@@phoenixrising3219 it’s the difference between the states. The veterinarians at horse plus explain things in a different way. Dr. Kristin has a sweet voice, easy to understand and her explanation about what is happening is pretty easy for the average person to understand.

What a wonderful episode! It was so good to see your lovely vet again and so many horses checked up on. She’s a superb professional and obviously knows her stuff. It’ll be great seeing how these horses improve in time. Those rocker shoes are so clever, I’ve seen them before. Their concept is brilliant, that there’s never any pressure for long periods on any part of the hoof. There are shoes called MBT’s for humans that do the same thing. People who suffer from Plantar fasciitis get great results from them, so I can see how a horse with sole pain would get massive pain relief from a rocker shoe too. Very clever. Keep up the wonderful work guys. ❤ Thank you for all you do. 🙏🏻

Second cut Cindy, not second crop. U had it right in the 1st cut video calling it 2nd cut not knowing if it would grow enough for second round. 2nd crop would be a replanted field or another field. That's why they say cut bc it's the same crop just cut multiple times hints the name 1st ,2nd and 3rd cut. Rarely more than 4 depending on how rich the soils are and grass types planted and moister levels. And the farm and ranch girl comes out in me. Never know looking at me though. Lol

I love this channel, better than horse plus. I used to watch Free Spirit equestrian but that lady disgusts me, she goes to auctions and maybe she will buy a horse maybe she won't, why tape going to auctions when your intentions are not to rescue any horses? She buys from private parties. I love the work you do. Keep it up. Your blessings will be coming to you.

I’ve never seen horse plus. I take it, it’s not a good rescue place?? Heck! I lived just outside E.C., I had horses(5)for quite a few years!! And, I can’t believe I’d never heard of y’all b4 we moved!! I live in WY, MT, & SD((longgg story!)). TY for ALL you do!! I take in rescue horses, quite a few Mustangs, as well. Our shelters get so overwhelmed, so I’ll take a few to help out whenever I can. I also foster cats/kittens, as well. I can’t take dogs, due to all the barking. We do have a dog…a Giant M’Loot Alaskan Malamute. He’s almost a 10 months old, & already weights 152 lbs. He’s a big baby, & he thinks he’s a cat lol. Keep up the wonderful work y’all do!! And, it IS WORK!! HARD WORK!! 24/7/365!! But, we live in paradise, & love what we do!♥️🤠♥️

@claudiadickerman4218
@claudiadickerman4218 Год назад
Did you folks ever get your xray machine? If not consider mentioning donations for it. So helpful especially when you are getting rescue horses that OFTEN have serious bone/hoof problems. Ya, weather is always an unknown for farmers and hay growers. Without it, stuff doesn't grow, with too much it get wet and you can't bale it. I feel bad for farmers all around, but really feel bad for you as we know that expenses are not a small problem with rescues. Question: how do you know that the "weeds" that invade are not bad for the horses? I do not understand why people buy animals online!!!!! So many stories of not the same horse the pictures showed, or in this case had not been fed properly and was miles away from the pictures. But it isn't just skinny that is a problem, how can one know how sound the animal is from pictures, is it lame, does it have an injury that does not "show", is it sick with something terrible like EPM and thats the reason the animal is so skinny and uncoordinated upon arrival. People buy all kinds of things online but buying animals is a HUGE no no in my book. Even vehicles online can have all kinds of problems that you cannot tell from the advertisement. I just don't get it why people take this ridiculous chances. I am glad that this horse was cared for by the buyer and that now it is with Pony Tales and will be properly evaluated on soundness and training. as a side note, the buyer took an even LARGER risk buying a horse in its twenties. Probably has dental issues and maybe arthritis as well at that age. Hope he is still a guy with some good days in his future and if he was properly trained maybe a good "starter" horse for the less experienced persons. Hey ladies, check out Alan Palmer The Farm on Route 66, maybe even call him. He came up with a super very inexpensive homemade "squeeze" shute. He initially came up with it as he rescues reservation unhandled foals and adults. Also works great for the vet when the horse isn't into getting blood drawn. I can't tell which of Alan's videos to look at but he is usually very nice when he gets emails with questions. his email is thefarmonroute66@gmail. He is a super nice person and so kind with his horses. He has a few registered quarter horse of his own, but he frequently does reservation rescues and also owner surrenders. It is not a huge operation but he does come up with some dandy ideas. So, check him out, I am sure he would send you pictures of his homemade squeeze shute and like I say, you probably already have the stuff on site to make one. After watching carefully, I have to say this vet knows her stuff and the horses seem to like her for the most part. I hope you guys can keep this vet well into the future.
