You missed the ball on the Pikachu/Iono Rattle. The guy who posted it (Yagimaru) is an ex-employee of a large printing company within Japan... who actually used to print pokemon. He covered the Iono in a video and educated people as to exactly why it's fake (which you had stills of) , and what to look out for. Give him a look, really good stuff.
I'll be honest, I've been part of this hobby for 24 years. I luckily can spot fake cards most of the time. Just recently tho I started exploring slabbing some of my collection for a nice way to encapsulate and display the card. So I'm not as experienced when it comes to slabs and counterfeits. I say that to say this, I could not tell that the Iono was a fake slab. I feel for the person who bought it. What a shame.
Happy that you advocate give collectors a head up on what's going on in today's market. Thanks as always appreciate you also for the hard research you put into your videos very informative helpful.
I don't know about yall, but if you see some custom cards on eBay, they have perfect texturing. If those people wanted to do counterfeit, I'll be honest it would be big trouble.
I know it is a big No-No buying loose packs from Japan I ordered a couple of packs of V-Star universe much to my surprise on the first pack I got a origin form Dialga... not in any way saying that the packs out of Japan or not weighed and searched to a point but definitely can get some okay cards some of the time
I also heard some scammers will also crack the psa 10 slab and steal the label and put it in a fake slab w a different quality of card as well. A lot of collectors would prefer new certified # for the PSA slabs as they can compare the card (front/back center or/and holo pattern) w PSA's certified scan images. Also be aware of your PSA 10 slab being returned by buyers as well. I agree w Rattle on punishing all these scammers...it is like shoplifting in the US...... this is going insane....I thought the pokemon hype during lockdown was bad...
I messaged several sellers on eBay selling obvious resealed base set packs. And another with the fake base set charizard unlimited. They act so stupid. 2 card shops told the resealed packer they were legit. I messaged him saying that’s exactly what a scammer would say. I reported them. Love your videos. Mike is the man
I've seen a few really offcentered PSA labels on facebook lately, and owners fighting pretty tooth and nail it was real. A FA Luigi was one. I'll see if I can find any
So many damn scammers. In regards to the box resealing, I just can't understand why The Pokemon Company can't just use security stickers on the booster boxes. It's not even high cost to implement, and the box design can stay the same.
It happened to me I get a charzard card in a PSA slab the card was actually real the qr code and cert number matched with PSA website but it was not. How can I get you the information I have it all
I never used to like you Rattle, but you do offer a great service to this community by spreading this awareness so my bad I guess I think your alright 👍🏼
Is that Iono card fake?? That’s crazy. I’m a big Japanese collector, yet I have trouble seeing that the card is fake based on that photo alone without touching the card with my hands
Only use reputable cards shops don't but off ebay scam city sure some things are real and can get a good deal but 9/10 it's fake or resealed and most people don't even know it
Its sad that everytime you mention having a graded card you have to explain yourself. You can have something and not care for it. How do people not get that? I have a couple graded sports cards i got when i was a kid. But i dont particularly care for grading i feel its a waste of money and an unneccessary risk to my cards lol.
