Havik works great with Mavado. He isn't really affected by the health nerf and he gets combos from every move, even his sweep.

While true I do agree that Movado isn't too good with Quan Chi. He s great with...Nitara but that 800 health just like Quan Chi is killer! Havic on the other hand can do some interesting stuff I think. I played around with those two and found that in a nut shell Havic gets to do some crazy stuff with the Movado up move and the one where he pushes them to you then you go into the spin cycle move. As a Havik main, I'm glad he clicks so good. I was still using Subzero as a Kameo, which is a good one for him, but Mavado opens him up so much. Good shit.

I won't lie to you, Quan/mavado is the only team that makes me come back to the game. I knew I liked Quan but I couldn't find the right kameo until I tried mavado. I like the fact that he can keep you thinking when he does 21. He can do 213 into FKameo, 214 into skydrop then you can use the mine to kombo off it from anywhere on screen (so you can do 4 into skydrop into mine to get a kombo from full screen) and with the 21 mix you can also sneak the low tentacle in there for some extra guessing. I also like the fact that you can get an auto kombo by using F kameo since I'm not that great at hit confirming most of the time, you can also use F kameo to kombo off the ex overhead projectile from full screen and can carry them all the way to you and back again in one kombo so that's swag. Also his otg is a great way to sneak in a portal and I haven't tried this yet but I wanna start using his ex overhead projectile when I do the otg for a hard to blockable if it hits at the same time, I would use sky drop to get them to stop jumping but I think that would be better to use. You can also do a string into skydrop on block and if you send the mine out just right I'm pretty sure you'll be plus to get a throw kombo in for an extra layer of opening them up. I'm pretty sure I'm missing out a ton but the 800 health issue is the annoying part, it can be hard to hit you but when they do your eating a full kombo and have some extra room for dessert too

I think the slide is best used to force your opponent to block on wakeup, so corner pressure or setups with the bone dome and zone of waste. But he otherwise doesn't help guarantee that sort of thing with Quan unlike say Sub-zero. And damn that -100 hurts.

I think they're using mavado to tesy the pushblock. Like how they used spawn to test the armour breaking mechanic in 11 before giving it to everyone. They could add pushblock for the story dlc

Its not the most optimal thing but its really cool for Quan and Mavado. B3 4 2, 13, Mavado trap, 4, purple zone portal, EX skull, Jump 1 2, BF4 (you can substitute BF4 for a 122 in the air for the same dmg and knocking them away) Throw Mavado's mine down just before the claw pops them up during the 13 and use 4 to knock them into the mine, special cancelling into portal to hit them while the mine has them trapped. Damage comes out to 365 I believe

Yeah i was thinking the same here about quan/mavado. I main Quan as well but mavado works well for my kitana.

The push block can be delayed as well, say you got F block on the first hit Slide can also be delayed to force a block and fuck with their wake-up

Quan, apart from the mine and teleport options, does not have good synergies with Movado. However, Tremor can also do this, much better and gives +100 HP.

Hey Dink, I really enjoy how good you are with Quan Chi. I really want to get better with him like you are. But about mavado, I have seen some good pairs with him, for example, Ashrah and reptile. He has really good moves. I only see two downsides, the amount of hp he takes away from you, and maybe just a me thing, but the fact that you don't have more variety on the trap. You can only do it up close. There's no far version, and no mid version.

For the grab if you do the bomb immediately after grab does it not catch? Before the side switch?

I think mavado is my new kameo main with shao. Combos off of back throw and combo extensions off of command grab? Yes please. Easy way to get in with the nomad whatever its called? I'll take that. No longer having to deal with delay wake up with the slide? Oh yeah. Still want to get better with shao jinko, but mavado is so satisfying to use.

I feel like Mavado Quan has some sauce. I justed posted a video on some of the stuff he can do. The 100hp hit is brutal though. One big reason why i wouldn't change out my Sub for him. Still cool to use though.

Movado gives kombos of sky drop, same as tremor. Also bnbs can be improved a bit for more damage, similar to Janet however still not worth -100 hp imo.

I wish they would add a run mechanic that you can only use while the opponent is in a juggle state and add a push block mechanic or a block breaker.

I think they should just cap the lowest health for any team at 900hp in general. This is something i could live with. 800hp totally kills my drive to try such a kameo when i know i can i face teams with up to 1200hp.😂

Mavados trap can be good.

800 health though? It's just brutal.

-100 health in a game as high damage as mk1 is hard to justify.

I dropped a video with this pair as well and i have to say i did found a nice set up combo that works great. But as a whole i think he is not that great of a pairing with Quan Chi.

Nah. He’s good but not with Quan. The health nerf is too much of a disability IMO. I’m having fun with the Havik/Mavado team. ❤

Quan chi need good mid and his button are to slow really feel they made Quan bad on purpose and Liu kang is annoying play against

He seems useless with quan His plus on block specials are good tho
