I love my Paras. I use them for gaming and listening to music. Didn't like the stock pads so much as my ears would touch the grills. So I bought some cheap, thicc Chinese Voarmaks "lambskin" pads on Amazon. They were stinky af when they arrived and I kinda doubt they're genuine leather but they're super comfy. I also got the Moondrop Up! balanced XLR cable which I'm kinda torn on. It is generally a nice cable but it is so damn creaky. The Paras' plastic cup construction makes this even worse. So whenever I move my head and the cable touches my shoulders it would creak from where the cable comes out of the 3.5mm jacks. So what I ended up doing was use a velcro cable tie to tie the cables together near my neck so they won't rest on my shoulders anymore. Ghetto solution but it works.
Choosing between this and Aune AR5000 is really tough lol, back at December '23 it took me 3 days alone just to listening and comparing betweek PARA and AR5000, but in the end I picked PARA coz I really like how forward yet not so intimate vocals sound. I'm glad you finally review the PARA coz it seems not many reviewers do this unit
@@WildfireX the AR5000 has more bass technicality, and easier to drive than the PARA. But you'll need to get used to how they sound because of the angled driver inside
I bought my Paras before I got lucky with an open box Venus, and I love cans both dearly. I love my Paras so much that I did a pad swap with DCA Ether Angled sheepskin pads and had a custom leather support strap made for it too.
The difference between Moondrop's Line V and Line W cables is that W has twice as many wires as V. Basically on the W above the split is the same as V below the split, and below the split it's kind of flattish from merging the weaves side-by-side.
My screen died after it got a little bit of sweat on it. I've been trying to work with support for a month to try to get something done but I'm getting the run around because I'm in the US
Wait until you hear the Cosmo! Actually, you should’ve already heard them. They were at CanJam NYC at the Leiyin table. A Moondrop rep was low key there with them (in Black). No name or price at the time and they sounded pretty damn good under show conditions. I remember hoping that they were a Venus replacement at roughly the same price. They would have been game changers! It turns out that they are being offered at $900 which puts them in a more competitive price range. Still worth considering IMHO.
I have the Venus and Para, and I'd like to try the Cosmo but I'm not sure if I want to spend $900 on them. I'd rather get a used HD 800 S at that price. How did you like them compared to Venus?
@ peterklick2385 They’re better than the Venus but there’s stiff competition at the asking price. Personally, I’d rather spend a couple of hundred dollars more and get a ZMF Bokeh.
This Vs. the Ananda Stealth and Vs. the Aune AR5000?? its ridiculously hard getting to the bottom finding which pair is the best at this price range, Ima be honest
How's the clamp strength? Even with the comfiest pads, really clampy headphones give me a headache in just an hour or two, so I'd love to have more options whenever I feel like spending money on headphones :^)
ZReviews, I don't know if you'll answer me or not, but is it worth replacing my Audeze Maxwell with a Moondrop Para, because I'm thinking of buying a Moondrop X crincle Dusk in the next month and then thinking about replacing the Audeze with a Moondrop. Of course, I understand that Para needs an amplifier (I'm thinking about Fiio K11). p.s. At first I was thinking about Moondrop MIAD 01, but if Dusk is great only with USB-C, then a music smartphone is not worth buying for me in my case Have a nice day ^^
I had the AR5000 and compared them to the Para, I like the Para much better. Wider soundstage, more engaging sound signature that's neutral bright, and better build quality imo. The AR5000 are warmer and tuned for easy listening. Think the HD 600 with a slightly wider soundstage than those, but smaller and more intimate than the Para.
I swapped to Modhouse Xenon Sheepskin pads for the Para and they are fantastic. You can also use DCA Angled Ether Sheepskin pads but they are more expensive.
@@pk.002 COOL! Thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking for a headphone upgrade (Currently using Creative Aurvana SEs that aren't terrible). But I have to move up the list pretty far to be worth it over my "Computer" speakers (DefTek BP7000sc/Emotiva MR1). But, I don't have a stock of pads to try out.
They look really high end for Chifi stuff it's mad how far these companies have come . You didn't talk about the bass man , does it have good texture and slam , deep extension?
I'm really lost with your reviews. Look, Mr. Zeos, I'm just a normal enthusiast guy who needs a good pair of headphones. What about the Hifiman Ananda, XS, Sundara, or just a simple HD6XX? Just tell me what I need to buy for gaming, OST, metal, and classics. Or should I buy them all?
If you also listen to a lot of bass driven music I'd choose either the sundara or the xs, if not I'd go with the 6XX. Either way I wouldn't buy all of them, if you have 1K to spare it's better to buy a single high end headphone and be done with it
They've been out for a while now and they're still pre order where? I got mine in November last year. It's quite normal for Moondrop to launch a product that's better and cheaper than the previous model.
Zeos are you going to check out the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro X Limited Edition? Highly interested on your take on them considering your own like every other model.
People like to hate on Z. I dont understand why. He made me buy my harmonicdyne and fuck do i love them. Plus where else do you het horror movie recommendations. This is jusy entertainment that makes me spend my money
Are these open back? I wear a hearing aid in one ear and need open back cups to prevent feedback. Would love to try em. I use Shure srh1840 headphones now and used to use Bayerdynamic open backs as well.
After checking out the Aune AR5000 now seeing this I wonder who copied who in design 👀. Which would u recommend more for a “beginner audio hobby person”?
I had the AR5000 and A-B'd them with the Para. I prefer the Para by a wide margin and recommend those over the AR5000, but the AR5000 are nice too. They have a warmer and more relaxed sound signature with a smaller, more intimate soundstage, whereas the Para are neutral with more detailed, impactful sound and a much wider soundstage.
@@ZReviews I was wrong. I just got a chance to try them and yeah they are abit bright but clear AF. Nothing like a little EQ to bring the low end foward.
XS paired with a ifi zen air stack with xspace and double xbass is absolutely dreamy and I like it better than the PARA. PARA otherwise is my choice over MM-100, Sundara and any other planar in the price bracket when allowed a proper source chain to keep the treble brightness from violating your ear and flat wimpy bass.
The affiliate link in description is a bit sh!t. There is no option for the fancy pants cable, and when converting to canadian euthanasia pesos they up the price by 70 dollars compared to proper exchange rate. There are other places to buy the headphones that appear to have proper currency conversions and have the other cable.
its been month since we got a good cheapie headphone or speaker market is dead right now imo... no one to push the limit of chi-fi or cheap stuffs getting more and more better... 2 years ago it was on a monthly basis...
"The treble and highs are a bit harsh and can be a bit fatiguing, and sound stage isn't as good as I would've liked. They're a bit bulky and not the most comfortable, and I wish the headband had more than just 5 adjustment points...but I can still wear them for a few hours before feeling much discomfort. Overall they're not bad headphones, but they're also not great. At the end of the day they'll probably just sit in my collection but not get much use." this is not something huh? why people like stabbing sounds in their ears- I never understand why people go for that kind of sound-
Were you having a bad day filming this or something? Just such an aggressive and bad additude for a video that needed no personality just 6 mins of bad vibe fluf and a tiny bit of information hope you have a better day
Ive seen it. They want to fill a price point and don't want to interrupt sales of their higher end models. So they try and keep the better stuff in the OG. But Moondrop Failed here.
@@ZReviews well that's the final nail in the coffin for moondrop for me. They gotten greedy, there's so many other passionate companies that want to impress
@@TheNEOONE1 But this is just how products work... Unless you are replacing the higher cost product, a cheaper one should generally be not as good. Otherwise why are you even selling it? Even a 5% drop in quality for half the cost is reasonable. We don't know how much it costs to make the product. To make something that costs half as much to fill a price range, you have to cut corners somewhere, unless technology has really just improved that much, or you're deciding to take a loss or massively decreased profit.
