The final bit "But she can't love you, Like you love her, There's no mercy, From Mother Earth." means that, while we often see Nature as beautiful, it's also ugly - it's live-giving, but also cruel, merciless and death. There's 2 sides to Nature and "ungrateful souls" do not see "the forces for what they truly are", they do not see Nature for what it is, or might even think they can dominate it. Having divided ourselves from Nature, we tend to do that, we only want the good things. Nature can't and won't give us that. This is true within the self also. It's only when we recognize the bad things in our lifes, like sorrow or grief, that we can truly *know* the good things like happiness. Essentially, trying to reject the bad is profoundly wrong. On the other hand, you have people who are infinitely too focused on the negative, they find it alluring and makes them feel something, like self-harm for example (and illustrated by the man seeking to go back to the sea). It's only when you walk the border of both aspects, when you recognize that they are both essential, that you find balance and peace. My interpretation.
If there were a soundtrack for the intricate wonder and beauty of nature, Kalandra and Aurora would own the rights. This was a sensory overload for me.
WOW, at last. I've been waiting for someone to ake a reaction to my favorite Kalandra song. Thanks, Rosalie for your interpretation of the lyrics. I think we're on the same page there.
Thanks for reacting to Kalandra. Totally underrated band. One of my favourites 🤘🏻🖤. Katrine's voice is otherworldly, for me, she rivals Aurora!🤘🏻🖤 from Germany
Kalandra's song/video for The Waiting Game has an amazing visual message about the toxic cycles we can find ourselves in when in an unhealthy relationship. You should definitely check that one out sometime. Thanks for another amazing reaction/chat. You're the best. ✌🏼
The ocean has been the lifeline of coastal Norway for as long as people have lived here. It provides, but at the same time it has demanded at high price in human lives. I personally believe the song should be viewed in light of this.
Listened to their entire catalog wholst studying after your first video; they're really good and have such a cool sound. Thanks for helping share music across to more people🎉🎉🎉
i heard one song by them and immediately bought an album.. there are very few artists i have ever done that.. the Entire album is amazing.. this song is on there and there are several songs that her voice sounds as close to anyone i have ever heard to Aurora's Voice.. I love it!
Fantastick band and a great reaction. Kalandra just released a live version of Ensom. Ensom is more up beat and more rythmicly complicated. I cant figure out the time signature but it's very groovy and kind of heavy. Grizzly man is another song you will love. There is a couple of good live versions of that song to. In general i will say kalandra is best live, but as you see they got some great videos. Love from Norway ❤
Your reaction is exactly how I felt when I saw this song for the first time, tears actually welled up in my eyes, her voice is spiritually uplifting. Katrine is an amazing singer and continues the hugely talented artists from Scandinavia whether it’s men or women.. One thing that annoys me though is the constant comparisons with Aurora, while I agree Aurora is an amazing talent, Katrine is talented in her own right, not every Scandinavian artist HAS to be compared to Aurora! There are just as fantastic and some even better singers from the entire Scandinavian area (including Iceland and The Faroe Islands) You should check out Eivør her songs are spellbinding
I already subscribed to Kalandra Music. They are my latest addiction. I took the line about praying to get home literally, imagining the thousands of sailors over the centuries caught in the storms on the sea, praying just to survive and reach land. If you like this, check out Eurielle "City of the Dead", Eivor "Remember me", and Myrkur "Leaves of Yggdrasil" or "Tor i Helheim"
as always great reaction this one was like music meets asmr and like relaxation music like rain sounds or sea sounds stuff like that and the mixed with Aurora I love it this got me to a very relaxed state and it was soothing to listen to could listen for a long time to this and yeah get lost in it as always your ride or die Forever Eyyyyy Oooooo
I am often reminded of a Tom Waits lyrics: "The ocean doesn't want me today", which is such a great imagery. I imagine that the Border Katrine is singing about is the same place. "The call of the void" is the term for the urge to jump you get when stranding on a cliff or to go into the ocean. I think it is about coming close to nature and saying: "Take me if you want to" and and then stepping back from that edge... And to think, this isn't even their best music video.
I convey my great greetings from Russia and I want to say a huge thank you for the reaction to Russian performers. Please make a reaction to So Hyang - Lean on Me.
Hello I am from India and I saw your video I found it very beautiful. I want to ask you some questions. I have some such lines on my hands and feet, I want to get information about them. For example, the symbols of flags of many countries and the symbols of kites and many sentences of English letters are attached to my hands and feet.🇨🇭🇳🇴🇩🇰🇬🇧🪁 M K A W E V Y L U H I . There are many more sentences like this. I wanted to get information from many people here and also saw the hands of people but I have not received the correct answer yet. I just want to get answers to my questions. I am a car driver and the most important person in my family my father is no more and I don't know how to describe the quality of others. In the month of December 2021, I took the first injection of covid 19 and could not take the second one, since then something is starting to happen to me as if I am a prisoner. Whatever I have told you till now, I have not lied a single thing in it. I just want to know the answers to these questions which are arising in my mind, I will be very grateful to you.
