people say it was pancakes.. but experts know that after i wielded the moby huge i ascended to the next level of man. :) thanks for the review Charlie - we have to get you to live commentate one of these matches sometime *****
Devon would smash schoolboy in a professional match, schoolboy is amazing and it’s easy to mistake them for evenly matched in a training match but make no mistake, Devon is nowhere near going 100% there, even now that schoolboy has unmistakably put on a lot more size and strength he’s nowhere near this latest version of Devon, this 290 pound mound of pancakes and testosterone with the giant pumpkin arm
I mean if Schoolboy was in that tier of elite arm wrestlers, he’s be competing at the *highest* level, so the fact he doesn’t proves he’s not there yet. He already is elite for his weight and age, though, so there’s no reason to believe he won’t reach his potential and be within the top 10-20 in the world like Devon and Michael
Devon gives the strap, gives position and doesn't bother engaging all his muscles even. Pretty obvious he's just using schoolboy as a workout there rather than actual armwrestling.
For anyone who's curious, the reason Devon celebrated like that after the pin in Round 4 is because no one is history has pinned Michael's King's Move without a strap. Devon was the first person who didn't let him slip. Obviously that pin also won him 4/6 and thus won the match, but that's the reason for the excessive celebration
@@bradgrundy512 You’ll have to take it up with Ryan Bowen then 🤷🏻♂️ I think he knows a thing or two about arm wrestling ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5bQLdqp4D4M.html 19:00 mark
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: There is no "using your whole bodyweight" The legs are grounded and they're using their whole body to stay tight and gain full power. Watch a Devon Larratt interview he let's a footballer use both hands and hang of the table actually using his whole bodyweight in the air and it doesn't even work. Lol Elbow has to stay on the pad and u just got to pin it. These are the main rules. There's a lot of tug of war going on. Thank you for listening. Now grip and rip! 💪
If u look at arm break videos they're all putting their hands behind their shoulders and breaking their own arms in spiral fracture. Moving your whole body with your hand is smart. School rules are dumb.
@@pa1Z yes they're pushing to the side. As long as one foot is on the ground it's allowed and a common move to finish the pin. There are many stances u can take. Devon has made old instructional videos on it.
This match is the most technical demonstration of hand control I've ever seen! Nobody has ever beaten todd out of the straps or won this version of Michael Todd all rounds!
Hell yes I’ve been waiting for Charlie’s reaction to this, one of the most insane moments in armwrestling in recent time Edit: just for anyone who isn’t very familiar with the sport, the last time Devon and Michael armwrestled, Michael defeated Devon, so going into this Devon was the underdog big time, not many people have destroyed Michael Todd this easily, Devon was absolutely monstrous
Nobody in the last 10 years has beaten Mike like that. Even against Puskhar, whom Michael considered the best puller he's ever pulled, he never got sweeped 6-0.
Devon was in the JTF2 for 16 years. thats the Canadian equivalent of Seal Team Six. It's crazy how hes the most dangerous person in any room he goes into, but he has such a laid back and calm personality. An exemplary Canadian.
Plus he was pulling the whole evening and schoolboy showed up later fresh. Also among armwrestlers theres often this etiquette that if you are stronger you do not try to pin the weaker guy
i assume he meant not pin him immediately, not to not pin him at all and straight up let him win let him practice his technique, which from what ive heard is a lot more important than pure strength
In the video at the end Devon is giving Schoolboy a lot of leash for training purposes. Devon in training does not try to win, he tries to give his opponent as much lease as possible.
@@darianglendenning1252, I get the reference, but Devon actually had two videos of him shaving. One before the Bortolato Match in 2019 and one before the recent Todd Match. It’s like a sacrifice to the gods kinda deal. Devon is the 21st century’s greatest warrior.
Devon is now ranked third best in the world, but could possibly even be considered number one in the world. They’re currently trying to set up a match with him and the man officially ranked number one in the world, Levan Saginashvili.
God Devon is a monster! That other gigantic beard dude had no chance! After that match, I expected the dude's beard to crawl down off his face and up onto Devons face like it'd found a new master.
Well the bicep measurement is the circumference of the whole arm.. so maybe Todd just has bigger triceps or more fat. Doesn't necessarily mean the bicep itself is bigger
When he was wrestling schoolboy it was sparing. He'd have been intentionally letting schoolboy have positional advantages. If they had an actual match he'd be way more brutal.
school boy and devon aren't on the same level devon is top 5 in the world schoolboy is mid high level what you saw was a practice where usually the stronger armwrestler puts himself in a disadvantageous position so the other dude can have a chance.
Charlie needed to clarify that Devon beat Schoolboy, so for those who don't know, Devon is the best in North America. Schoolboy is an up-and-coming arm wrestler who could see some high-level play in the next few years but at this point can't compete in a real match with Devon or a slew of older, more experienced dudes. They're in different leagues literally and figuratively. (And for comparison, Larry Wheels is a strong lifter but a green arm wrestler. He shouldn't have fought Schoolboy.)
I actually really appreciate the way Michael handled this loss. It must be devastating to lose 6-0 like this, and yet he was so respectful and impressed with Devon. You can tell he was happy that Devon is back in this kind of form, even though he lost. Very sportsman-like, no excuses nothing, just "he was stronger".
Funny thing is that the only ones making excuses are the fans and some armwrestlers, meanwhile Todd has come out and shut down everyone’s excuses for his loss, and stated he felt really strong that night and Devon still beat him.
Yeah and the sound is horrible as well. Just in case that scared you away from ever trying, it’s quite rare and involves one of two mistakes that both create a lot of torque on your humerus. Check out Voice of Armwrestling on how to stay safe when armwrestling if your interested ^^
@@gabrielgboucher6546 How many tears have you seen live in your own pulling, in official matches, and on armwrestling channels vs. how many armbreaks? People tear stuff all the time, even in official matches. Armbreaks: non in real life, non in official matches in WAL or PAL that I've seen, 1 armbreak on Ryan Bowen channel. They are not equally common.
@@llllKyonllll i agree mostly but people who armwrestled have either seen it , have people they known break something . It is common but not that common. I agree that tears are more frequent. When i said " it is common i was including armbreak , tear , dislocation To show people what injury look like in armwrestling.
@@gabrielgboucher6546 Yeah that is true I agree. I just want people to be careful, without scarring them away from even trying the sport. If you practice safely (and leave your ego at the door) everything should be fine. Once you start competing (or get too competitive in practice..), the injuries will come back into the picture. And you're right, armbreaks will happen. Overall it's such a great sport, that it would be a shame if the armbreak compilations scare everyone away ^^ Stay strong, love armwrestling!
Dude make a video on watchdata, cleary faked videos, the deleted my comments that debuked their stupid videos, they suck!!! I want them banned from youtube!!
he's compared a lot to superman the guy he challenged in the same match is called levan saginashvili he's known as the hulk they're trying to set up a match
@@thechin2875 there was a lot of controversy around that match for instance devon and denis have been trying to get a match for a long time but denis's boss wouldn't agree until after devon had surgery a year before and it takes a long time for the arm to get to it's original strength after surgery plus devon was only training his right because the league he pulls in had a right handed season
Larrat learnt a huge lesson from him vs Denis Cyplenkov match.... But wow, Larrat is so fukn strong, nobody EVER did Todd this easily, this is the best Larrat form ever
Yeah, Devon does training exercises with weights that are heavier than Charlie. Would be cool to set up a cable system with Charlie standing in it and Devon lifting it with his wrist.
for any1 wondering why was micheal sitting, its okay you can do that its called king's position but its very risky as it increases the chances of you breaking your arm or elbow joint so dont go full on and do this.
Michael deserves big big props for being a good sportsman, he knows what’s Devon is capable of and did his best, and took it like a champ, great battle
