That actually isn't far from the truth. He used to be a franchise manager for Jenny Craig but grew increasingly irritated with people coming in for help and not doing any of the work and lying to him or his employees about their eating habits so he opened the first Heart Attack Grill.
His message is insane but I agree with it. The entire restaurant screams unhealthy, it's literally called the heart attack grill, but people still eat there anyway. Especially with the second spokesperson who died, he ate at the grill everyday. I also like how brutally honest he is.

This guy's origin story is actually very interesting. He started out on the complete opposite side of fighting obesity as the owner of a gym franchise but he was sued by a major fastfood chain because his gym's name sounded similar to their restaurants. He lost the lawsuit and his businesses, his whole world was destroyed. He felt like he couldn't beat the fast food industry and all his efforts to promote health and wellness lost out because he didn't have as much money and couldn't afford better lawyers. From this sense of loss and failure, a villain was born. He decided basically if you can't beat 'em, join ‘em and that's when he opened the heart attack grill.

The reason many people perceive this guy as a villain is because that is exactly what he is trying to be perceived as.
