Roland's French father was extremely dominating with his mother , Roland based this song on that home situation . Oleta was singing in a hotel bar the night they first heard her, and they were both moved to tears listening to her beautiful expressive voice, and that was the beginning of their collaboration with Oleta . There his a live performance of them singing this song together and it's even better than the studio version. Try to check it out , it's worth it .

Nice reaction MD! I agree, Roland has a very distinctive and flexible voice and goes so well with Oleta. Another great song from TFF, their production is really good. How about some early stuff from their debut album 'The Hurting', 'Mad world' or 'Pale shelter' both worth a reaction. Cheers

Really love watching your reactions. I think the next two Tears for Fears songs to react to should be Shout, and Head over Heels. Two cracking songs. Ohhh I nearly forgot Mad World. Very dark song about childhood depression and loneliness, but absolutely incredible.

Another very nice reaction young man, I'm enjoying your dive into TFF, I hope you continue, TFF have a wealth of material and I can honestly say I've yet to hear a song of there's that I don't like, and I've been following them since I first heard Mad World in 1982. Just as a side note, Roland's mother used to teach strippers. Advice For The Young At Heart which has Curt on lead vocal next please.
