As an rookie in Nightwish army, you have so much great, even epic songs to study. When your rookie time is over(Have listened 5-10 songs from Nightwish), you will be promoted to be ready for epic songs like "Greatest Show on Earth" and "Poet and Pendulum" (Study back ground of Poet and Pendulum before listening it and guaranteed you will dive to the emotional mode when you know the story behind the song). Bass guitar player Marko is also great vocalist, you will find that fact too...But when Floor and Marko sings together, that is something, they fit 100% together as an vocalists. Nightwish is musical wonderland and tasty musical fruit basket...

It's so fun watching someone see this for the first time. They continually raise eyebrows and we're all saying to ourselves, "Just wait." Nice react. There is so much more. Please keep it up.

Hello there, I am so happy you are as awestruck as so many of us are when it comes to this wonderful wonderful band by the name of Nightwish, these amazingly talented and skilled musicians. Also, the goosebumps on your arms? Floorgasms :D Few singers can pull off what Floor Jansen does, she is a powerhouse and a very versatile vocalist at that. Nightwish has had a total of 3 singers, the first one was Tarja Turunen who is more of an opera singer, Anette Olzen who is more popsinger sounding and now they have Floor who can do a lot of different musical genres with that powerful voice of hers. To be honest, I do love all 3 singers but... Floor has risen and become my favourite one :) So next up, hm, perhaps you would enjoy song of myself also from wacken 2013? Lots of good songs from this concert, also worth out checking definitely is Storytime, Ghost river and Romaticide. Take care :)

However, my suggestions should be - Storytime (from Wacken) : the whole "nightwish package", great introduction sound to the band after Ghost Love Score - Romanticide (from Wacken) : heavier sound with some nice vocals from the bassist too (Marco) - Everdream (from Wacken) : from softness to epicness. - Other heavy sounds : Song of Myself (from Wacken), Yours is an empty hope (from Wembley), Weak Fantasy (Tempere) Errh, in fact I'm starting to list all songs, you can pick anything from Wacken it's a win ;-)

Very nice reaction! FYI: There are 82,000+ in the audience. The singer's name is Floor Jansen. Those goosebumps are called 'Floorgasms' in Nightwish Speak! GLS was the 13th of 15 songs they performed that night. I would recommend for your next NW reaction, either 'Ever Dream or 'Song of Myself' from the same Wacken 2013 concert.

So far the band has had 3 vocalists 1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005) 2 Anette Olzon (Swedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012) 3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of. Band members Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics) Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals) Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen (The drummer) Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player) Troy Donockley ( a person who did not play on this song but is a multi instrumentalist from the UK) The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. I agree fully with your reaction to this masterpiece. I had to listen to it a couple of times in a row before I could take it in fully. There are so many different parts and tempo changes that I could't take them all in the first time. Not to mention Floor being absolutely fabulous with all her jumps between opera styled notes and belting rock style, standing there like a Valkyrie in leather... I mean come on! My favorite part is the audience reaction to her final high note (The sound of eighty thousand Germans loosing their sh*t...priceless!).
