I personally really enjoyed it most people that I’ve seen commenting on reactions that I’ve seen on RU-vid liked season 1 better but still enjoyed season 2 but I actually like season 2 better although the newness of season 1 is special but season 2 was really good my only critique is that early in season 2 when they show Calvin getting tortured then he’s about to get thrown out of helicopter he starts laughing then is asked why he’s laughing he says I just wonder what Big Big Guys gonna do to you in that moment it’s a wow yeah can’t wait to see but honestly the pay off wasn’t anything special of course Reacher did tell Langston on the phone what he wanted to do to him so
This series is pretty close to the books…with only a few minor changes so book fans still have a little mystery. In the books, Reacher carries a travel toothbrush so the lid covers the brush. He buys his clothes from gas stations, surplus stores, wherever he can get cheap stuff. He spends more money on quality footwear. When he stays in cheap motels, he puts his pants between the mattress and box spring to “press” the wrinkles out. If he carried a backpack with extra clothes, he’d have to buy a house to hold his washer and dryer or spend countless hours in laundromats. When he gets in fights, his backpack would be a hindrance and give bad guys something to grab or steal. He is a simple man leading a simple life, with nothing to take care of except himself. There are many more great books to draw series material from…I’m sure season 3 will be another great one 😍
There are actually 28 Reacher novels. Lee Child has handed it over to his younger brother, Andrew Child...who is now writing the books (the last four with his brother's oversight), but this coming October 2024...will be his first one on his own...#29. For the most part, the stories are fairly accurate to the books. They switch things up a little, so that us BOOK fans can enjoy the show, too. Like in Bad Luck and Trouble...it was set on the West Coast and LA, and the bodies were dump from the helicopter into the desert. But for the most part...it is pretty close. Season 3's book that is being adapted is Persuader (which I just reread the other day), and I am SO psyched for it. We might even get it by the end of 2024, or beginning of 2025. They usually take about three months (started shooting in Dec. 2023) of shooting, then post production...so we may get lucky with a short turn-around.
Season 1, was book 1. Season 2 is book 11. Season 3 will be book 8. And yeah, its very faithful. There are some new twists, but just enough to keep faithful book readers interested, and not enough to ruin it. I love this show.
If you haven’t already seen it, I think you would like The Legend of Vox Machina! It’s a dungeons and dragons based animated series (think invincible if it was fantasy)
