I am a black man in his 40s when I first heard this I did not know of the song or artist I just clicked, I listened and broke down on floor crying. This song resonates with the common person right through the soul.... ❤2ALL StaySafe
Oliver Anthony is a bad ass and the reason his shit went to the moon is because all of the blue collar actually hard working Americans who aren't 5 foot 3 300 pounds and using food stamps for their fudge rounds love the message that he got through that song and the passion he put into it
This man dropped of high school at 17, worked odd jobs, suffered from unemployment depression, and substance abuse. And you can’t tell. It’s crazy how people struggle behind the scenes. He’s a gift from god above. And I can’t wait to see what he does. Keep your music real Chris. Don’t you ever sign any papaerwork.
@@alanking703I hope he keeps his money. And him and his family enjoy every penny. The message should be "follow your dreams and take risks, get through the lows." Not wait for handouts
I just went down his musical rabbit hole. He is far from a one hit wonder. His music is from the heart, his voice and writing is authentic. Just a extremely talented dude from the country that deserves all the success coming to him.
"my singing ain't the best" Humble words from a man who sang straight from his soul. Beautiful voice, It stands alone and is truly unforgettable. That's just my opinion. ❤
I too think his singing is beautiful because it is so heartfelt & honest and let's not forget, it's also not auto tuned. Nice to hear real voices for a change.
@@MetalMama-Mimi523It's also nice to hear him clown the Republicans for playing his song at the debates saying that the people on that stage were exactly who he was talking about. 😂
I'm British and I really like appalachian country and outlaw country music, I find it very relatable despite being from a different culture to my own. This song is incredibly moving and powerful, and it is great to see such a humble and honest bloke have this rapid success! I wish him all the best and will be listening closely mate! Respect to Joe for providing a platform for greatness
@hgf44876 yeah man, my best mate moved to Christiansburg VA, so I've been over there a few times. I mean this neither negatively nor positively, but it is very different from British culture
It’s crazy because I never imagined a Brit liking outlaw country. It’s so uniquely American and braggadocios I figured it would be written off as pompous Americanism. Cheers from across the pond lol.
All I know is that I cried when I first heard it and I still tear up when I listen to it. It takes the words right out of my mouth and I feel it was sent to us through him to bring us together and it’s not just another song. All the negative criticism is just a show of all the evil among us.
Bro literally interact with any kind of media or art at all. If you cried at mediocre country song with derivative lyrics and music then you are really starved for anything of insight ourside of yourself.
"Outside of work I would drink, I would get absolutely stoned, and I would sit around and try think about anything but what it is that I really needed to be doing." So many people are just like this and its what makes him so relatable.
It's not just his songs, it's refreshing to have someone that is a normal guy putting out a hit. It's more authentic that what is going on in the music industry. Now they find the image they want, hire song writers and use auto tune to make their hits. Then they don't even sign during their concerts, they just play the music and lip sync. Seeing the real deal is part of the charm of this guy.
@@zombieninjatedsmith1301 I tend to agree. Give the people something they want to make them feel better for a bit and make them feel like they won something.
Im from southwest Virginia. I am happy to see a fellow Virginian be so successful. Your music plays non-stop around here, God bless man, wishing all the best and looking forward to see your future sucess. Dont forget your roots
It's hard to make me cry but in the line "I wish I could just wake up and it not be true, but it is, oh it is" made me cry the 1st 15 times I listened to the song and I still choke up when I don't cry ❤️ It's an amazing song and message ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's an op, ffs. No accent. Bs, viral manipulation. Who controls virality. Good song, but the story is shit. Ffs, FOX headlined this for weeks. Because FOX a honest players. It's like covid and the bs videos.
There are lots of real people around. You don't need people like Joe Rogan to bring him on their show for you to be exposed. Go seek them out yourself.
It's what's keeping me from doing exactly what this guy just did with my music. I already know the talent is undeniable. I am terrified of where it can take me.
His song has touched so many lives, it's how most of us common folk live. We're tired of feeding the rich because the American dream has died. People don't realize what it's like to write lyrics to a song. I write poetry and some has been used in drug and alcohol classes. These are not just words put together. Its pieces of moziac art formed together being unique but resonates with others. Its heart and soul that touches another heart and soul that is indescribable, its a feeling of emotion unseen but felt.
@@user-yt2xv1gs7l I am struggling to feed my family and pay my bills. I have no retirement plan and own almost nothing. Yeah, I cried. And it felt right somehow.....
His description of anxiety is spot on 👍 everyone has stress in their life but with anxiety whatever the issue is it consumes every aspect of your life leaving you terrified broken and alone with a constant feeling of doom unable to change anything
This guy popped up when we needed him the most. His songs have brought people together in an unknowingly way by making us stop and think about the struggle and bs that we all deal with
That one got me as well. I am a creative and am living my art and man, it's not easy when you get older and things are not as certain as they seemed to be in your 20's.
@@Kerath Tighten up! We're still young. Alot of your anxiety is driven by watching social media, even this. It's a waste of time. We should be out camping, fishing, etc not even thinking about this crap.
"A lot of the anxiety for me came from just feeling like I was running out of time" Man I'm 37 and I feel this _so damn much_ . I feel like I've wasted my life in a retail job I hate. I'm nowhere near financially stable. I feel trapped. The depression is very, very real and very arresting. Edit: Thank you so much for the kind replies, guys. I really needed it.
You need routine, don't drink. Workout make a plan to accomplish whatever u want reasonably attainable etc. And hang out with ppl with your same goals ideas etc.
Simon, what got Chris through it was Jesus. The same Jesus that has gotten hundreds of millions of people through poverty, depression, war, family death, prison and tragedy. Matt. 11:28-29 "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Because corporations over work people . The over worked people finally thought they had someone to speak for them. They was wrong. Turns out this dude was " joking around"
@davidschafer544 is not possible that "they was wrong" if the words gave voice to what people were thinking. Even if he was joking around, the song still resonated with people.
@@derrickmcadoo3804 called code switching. tons of people do it. avoids the stereotypes that come with some accents, and the areas they are from. as shitty as it is, people take you more seriously if you clean up the accent.

Absolutely. Oliver Anthony is a voice for conservatives everywhere. I am so glad he is on our team, we need all the help we can get in our fight against the democrats.
Blew up in a month massive Viral success, no one has ever seen it happen instantly. God, I love his life in musical, lyrical connection that connects to what we are feeling.
And this is the magic of Rogan, and why this podcast is the #1 on the internet. That the most powerful interviewer in the planet can sit down with an average country guy bewildered at his own sudden success, and not only make him feel relaxed, but feel like it's just two guys sitting across the campfire holding a beer. And then Rogan can talk to a presidential candidate 3 days later, and make him feel at ease too. It's really phenomenal. Joe find the humanity in everyone, and the humor is all part of that. Comedians bridge all gaps, because honesty bridges all gaps.
Which just shows how stupid millions are across the country. People believing that fat people using food stamps for junk food is what's holding the working class down. Yeah, that's absolutely equivalent to the millionaire politicians acting on behalf of the billionaires that bought them.
Amazing how articulate and confident this guy is. He doesn't seem nervous at all, being a guest on the biggest show on the planet! Incredible. I hope for a long successful career for him.
his day to day job was a salesman , so thats an awsome combo of his story and he can actually articulate himself.... thank Joe for getting his best side going and getting this out
@CIAKilledWagner Dude, you " conspiracy theorists " are some of the dumbest people sometimes. He's not an " industry plant " like some of your ilk have said, and he's definitely NOT in the FBI. That said, you're as dumb as shit, that is if you're not a bot.
@CIAKilledWagner OR , OR ..just hear me out..........he squeezed him in while he has traction with his viral song....im sure Joe recorded 2 podcast in one day or back to back to get oliver in..im sure joe is booked at least half a year in advance.
One of Joe's best traits...is to let his guest speak. It's awesome to behold. Wishing all the success and happiness possible for Christopher Anthony...he seems legit and grounded. HIs song...Resonates. Great Job, Joe...your show is important. HOO-YAH & God Bless
I live with my friend who's Iraq and Afghanistan veteran, he suffers from ptsd after he saw all his friends die in front of his eyes. He struggles everyday but he's a strong man and I try to support him as much as I can. He loves country music and I ended up becoming a fan myself. If you ever end up playing in UK please let us know as seeing you live would be an amazing experience. And I do pray everyday just so you know brother. Stay real Anthony! Much love!
Does your friend now think it was worth it? I mean getting fooled by your government "fighting for a good cause". Having your friends dying and lifelong trauma and all was for nothing. Just a lie to keep your weaponindustri and military machine running. How many fu.cking made up wars does it take for Americans not to join the army? Defending your own country is one thing but you are messing were you shouldnt have been messing. The puppetmasters behind the strings get richer and more powerfull and missguided and manipulated people like your friend gets to pay the price.
This guy's on quite the roller coaster. One moment nobody knows him. The next he releases a song that goes viral and hits high in the charts. The next he's on the number one podcast on the planet. Amazing.
If there's a God he should bless the sick dying children. Go to a sick kids hospital and if you still believe God blesses individuals then you are lost.
@@David-jg8uf wow so salty, sick children are a blessing in this wicked world. Even if they suffer more than others. And they will be first in line to heaven. But an idea like that is too much for people like you.
Pretty nice, as an old guy, to see a young man like this being humble, well-spoken,talentented, honest about his struggles and generally "relatable" to Americans! Well done, Chris! Your family past and present is and should be proud of ya!
The only thing that's sad here is how people are projecting their political "team," or trying to fill in their own message. Here's the message. POLITICIANS don't care about us. Let's just leave it there and not make this kid(young man) become someone who divides instead of what his song SHOULD and IS doing, which is UNITING. Great song, message, everything.
Well said brother. When you talked about the music industry developed an algorithm to where all songs have to fit a certain format, and music is suppose to be an expression of an artist. God bless you all hope whoever reads this had a better Friday than me. But this video gives me like a pep talk, if you will.
Anxiety dominated my life for ten years. I completely understood what Chris was talking about man. This guy is genuine , intelligent and kindhearted. Really hope the best for him.

Oliver Anthony resonates with most of us blue collar folk plain and simple. Other artists stick to a pattern to be more acceptable to the masses and that has to do with the producing companies having a hold of them. Oliver, stay independent because most of us will pay for your work
This was one of THE BEST episodes I have ever heard on the Rogan show. Oliver Anothony, you keep being you, my friend! The fact this man was on the Rogan show and talking about his faith, telling people how Gods love, and word has helped heal his anxiety. That was one of the most influential conversations I have seen and heard on the Rogan show. This man is truly special, I hope his success continues. This world needs God now more than ever, so hearing him speak about God was just amazing. If Olivers words can bring just a handful of people to consider having God more involved in their life and have more faith in the Lord, then Olivers message and story was successful. AMAZING CONVERSATION GENTS!
His appeal is hands down his heart - It comes through so purely through his music. I've seen his hit song translated into several different languages and EVERYONE all over the world can relate to his words!!! He is an unexpected blessing!
I still haven't heard the song, and I basically agree with the message. I probably never will hear it, at this point I just have NO interest, and it's not my scene anyway. Exactly the same as with Despacito, which I STILL have never heard, to my knowledge. In both cases, they just became such a THING, and I lost all urge. I don't DISLIKE them, how could I? I don't even really know enough. But it's just this weird thing I have I guess haha
Hopefully, people realise that this talented guy and the sentiments in his song, resonate with BILLIONS of people worldwide. The elite and crazy globalists are in the minority, along with the woke mob. They will not win. Good will defeat evil.
To those who are still seeking, still questioning, still not sure about their faith, here's an invitation. Understand that we, as humans, are limited. We often make mistakes, go astray, and lose our way. It's not about perfection; no one is. As it is stated in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Recognize that actions alone won't bring ultimate salvation. It's not about counting good deeds against the bad. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Believe in the transformative power of love and forgiveness embodied in Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so we could find ours. The Bible states in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." True change and enlightenment come when we turn away from our old life and towards a new one - one guided by compassion, love, and humility. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." Express your faith, not only in words but also in actions. Embrace love, kindness, and righteousness, just like how Jesus lived His life. As Romans 10:9 suggests, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Consider baptism, a symbolic gesture of your new journey, your decision to leave the old behind, and embark on a new life in Him. Matthew 28:19 encourages us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Lastly, remain steadfast. Consistency in following Jesus and His teachings is the key. As Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commands." This is not a demand but a warm invitation. An invitation to explore, to understand, and to experience a love that transcends human comprehension. A love that saves, heals, and brings life.
A message for Oliver Anthony. We love your songs and what your songs have done for this country and people around the world. Your personal life experiences resonate with all of us on many levels, from drug and alcohol addiction to the starving blue collar worker. We pray for you to have discernment and not be influenced by people in high positions regardless of who they are. The wicked are all around you to try and break your spirit. I know you didn't expect to go this far but here you are. Our Heavenly Father has put this upon you because he knows your heart. Be diligent and pray continuously.
