Thanks for the support, couldn't agree with you more, personally I would much rather ask God Almighty if I could to the 1980's. Believe me that was a time when everyone was together: family outings, TV, Cinema, Radio, music, Christmases, Birthday parties and most all Summer Holidays. Now that was a time of bliss and excitement unlike all this other crap like Facebook, Blackberry or I gadget trash. Life was alot more simpler and just than now!
So Solid crew really did have over 200+ members. Some of the acted as just 'extras' in their music videos. Some of the much older members re-located to the West Midlands running pirate radio stations such as Skyline that are still running till this day!

They are not in Jail this is all old news.. they have been doing alot of ground work and even performing in Dubai etc... im glad they are back they originated the movement and hope they do well moving forward.

Those days were really good, i'm lucky to have lived through the 90's because it was such a sick time. I remember how innovative that time was for music, all the drugs people were doing and all the sex they were having, and how cool things were socially. It was around 1999 until now that shit got really fucked up. The kind of fucked up shit I've witnessed going on in London after 2000 wouldn't have been tolerated back in the 90's. The Labour government really destroyed that world, what a shame.
asher d now goes solo, his done alot of acting parts and released an album last year called 'in memory of a street fighter' and singles called andrea + this is real.

THANKYOU! someone who FINALLY realises how the 9/11 attacks fucked EVERYTHING UP!! the music, the tv thats bein produced now is just soo much more diffo to what was goin on pre 9/11. i cant even describe the difference but its like the world was a lot more innocent or summet before the attacks, at least thats how it was in the media. think how big slim shady was before 9/11,and after 9/11 his music cudnt be made like that. its a pain in the arse, cause the 2000's have been plain shit!
@rdsnuke garage was small but so solid were massive. i remember middle class kids in my school shouting so solid. they were on bbc, cbbc an dall other mainstream music shows. not put them down, they were dominate for a period. theres was also period where many a banger came from garage. go ask craig david and miss dynamite about their forst big hits
i'll probably get some abuse for this, but the fact is, if it wasn't for So Solid you wouldn't have your: Chipmunks, N-Dubz, Tinys, Tinchys , Dizzies and so on, SSC broke the barrier and paved the way for the acts you have today.
Grime didnt really have anything to do with the fall off of garage. Garage is still alive and kicking underground as bassline etc, its just the big record labels pulled the plug on commercial garage because, for example, the bad image of so solid in the media because of violence at their shows. grime had a seperate rise.
Focus on the quality of your music! In everything not just music the money is in QUALITY. Take this video for example, done years ago but the quality of both the lyrics and the video is still much better than 95% of UK tunes. Once you have that on lock, LIVE performances pay pretty well.
This was midle england's nightmare and it came to life, dats why it got shut down! Quickly! This is still my fave so solid tune and vid! Very talented and most definitely the pioneers of grime. They were perhaps niave and a bit misguided tho.
looks more like using smart strategies to keep costs low yet achieving an impressive result. i.e. special effects, and using what resources they have. they're a talented group.
They never claimed to be hip hop/rap/grime mcs though. They were garage mcs, a different style from them, but they were so well respected in the garage scene so shut the fuck up is all i have to say really. I loved them when i was younger, they introduced me to garage music which is something i will always like them for
@LoneDon if anything i think alot of people would agree with you, SSC raised the bar-set the standard and made it easier for the artists nowdayz...thats just the way it is.
