So This is Basically Rick and Morty 

Despite being intended as an obvious joke, the montage at the end is surprisingly poignant and well-directed, and something I could easily see fitting into a series finale of Rick and Morty.

The fact that in Rick and Morty there is an infinite number of universes, the last scene is canon.

Rick and morty stated that there are infinite realities. So that means that not only is the ending of the video confirmed to happen, so is every theory that rick and morty has. Basically this is a big middle finger to theories of tv shows. Why have theories when you can confirm them all at once

To take away from all the negative comments and replies (including mine), I'd like to say nice job Jello Apocalypse, the video was really nice and pretty straight forward, you encapsulated the show perfectly in about 3 minutes, and for that, you deserve props.

The entire premise of Rick and Morty: Do random stuff, try to justify it and make it sound both sophisticated and smart by using words with multiple syllables that sound fancy and cool. Introduce random characters out of nowhere. End with a totally random plot twist that comes out of nowhere that makes the show super depressing and seem deep to keep you watching for the next season.

The ending was pretty damn accurate. I can imagine the entire series ending like that. With Rick or Morty dying or something, and then time moving on afterwards. Maybe both of them die. Maybe Rick will finally admits he cares in the ending right before both of them die. Who knows? Plz don't let Rick and Morty end.

Okay, can we all agree that "When You Outgrow Me" is a banger?

Honestly this is the only show where I can say that almost none of the characters are likable yet it is still extremely entertaining, as characters are usually what I have the highest expectations for in something.

The sad thing is that the "When You've Outgrown Me" parody actually made me feel things. Either I'm a really easy viewer or the channel's writer made a deal with someone to be this great.

I'm surprised Jello didn't mention the after credits scenes. Every season ends with some deep emotional scene set to an obscure song, and then the after credits scene is about Jerry driving an invisible garbage truck. (That was actually one of them, I didn't make that up.)

For an upsetting amount of years, I too believed that the end segment of this video was an actual episode. I have spent an invaluable amount of time trying to find it. I feel simultaneously complete, and wholly empty.

I kinda get annoyed by comments that are like, "It's not deep just because the main character is nihilistic." Like cool, but that's not what makes the story intriguing. It's Dan Harmon's writing. Don't get me wrong, the absurdist jokes are great, but I can respect Dan Harmon's writing. Everything that happens in the show is the exact opposite of what you're told to do when creating a story, but it still all works. Your protagonist is not supposed to be over-powered, but like One Punch Man, that's the joke. Or how Rick abandons his whole family in an apocalyptic universe instead of figuring out a clever way to save everyone. You could argue that this was laziness on the writer's part, but so would having Rick create a random machine that fixes everything with no explanation on how it works, (kind of like how Doctor Who episodes have started to become). Instead, this event is used to develop both Rick and Morty's characters. Morty for the better, that he learns that once you've come to terms with the meaninglessness and random chance of the universe, the small insignificant problems no longer matter and you should enjoy the time that you have. And Rick develops for the worse, or rather, the audience is shown more of his character. Part of his character is that he truly doesn't care about his family, and to him love really is just an arbitrary word for a mixture of neurotransmitters in your nervous system that help you survive. Or the cop-out of Rick's backstory. Some fans desperately wanted Rick to have a tragic backstory; an excuse for why he is the way he is. And the writers give a sort of simulation of what that would be. And it's bad. It's cliche. Because sometimes giving a backstory ruins the image of a character (*cough* Anakin Skywalker *cough*). Or more realistically, terrible people don't need a tragic backstory. Not every high school bully is living in a bad neighborhood, but are middle class. Not every school shooter "was so nice but BULLYING led him to kill all of his classmates." Most bad people are bad for the fact that they've never been given the chance to empathize with other humans, because they've never experienced the pain that they inflict on others. You shouldn't be able to relate to Rick. Rick isn't a deep character. Rick isn't a philosopher. But to say the show is just a bunch of poorly written jokes is unfair to the work and effort that's been put into the show.
