What i loved was that echo showed exactly why he was an arc trooper. He was able to infiltrate one of the most secure facilities in the galaxy and successfuly implemented a prison break. He even gave the clone x squad a run for their money. It was amazing seeing echo shine after being overlooked throughout the entire series.

It’s crazy to think his story started on Rishi Moon as a regular clone trooper, complete shiny. Ended up becoming one of the most important clones in Star Wars. Legit gives me chills thinking of everything he’s seen. A regular clone trooper. Let that sink in.

That hug Omega gave to Crosshair first and then to Hunter was heart-wrenching. Crosshair this whole season felt guilty for serving the Empire, and he felt like he deserved to die which is why he wanted to save Omega alone. But Omega hugging him was the last assurance he needed that he was worthy of redemption. Edit: just so we’re clear, the reason Omega hugged him first is because she notices his hand is missing.

The Bad Batch did their job. They protected Omega. I think that last scene with grown Omega and Hunter is a way to close the circle. He was her father figure. He offered her a safe place on Pabu in Season 2. And finally we see that he fulfilled his mission.
@jetblast190
@jetblast190 Месяц назад
Five things I really liked: 1. Rex didn’t show up with the Calvary, they stayed true to the show’s name and the Bad Batch was the Calvary. 2. Rampart stayed true to himself, an opportunist (they didn’t try to make him a hero). 3. While I knew Crosshair was going to make that shot, I still felt a great unease that he could miss…great buildup to that tension. 4. They didn’t make Omega force sensitive, at least I see nothing that suggests it. She’s a capable pilot trained by Tech and the rest of the Batch. 5. All the rumors and speculation that Tech had survived and was a Clone X turned out to be false! Tech died a hero’s death…Plan 99! What I’m still missing: an explanation as to Cody’s fate.

Regarding Omega, I think it's implied that she does have a small amount of Force sensitivity; Assajj could sense it. It's enough to give her incredible instincts and intuition, especially relative to her age, but not enough for her to use the Force at will. It provides an in-universe validation of why she is indeed a bit of a Mary Sue. Philosophically, I'm even ok with the thought that a lot of the major players in the Rebellion could have a level of sensitivity to the Force that allows them to eventually be successful.

You and me both brother. Sure some will say that since this show takes place during the Dark Times, it must be dark as well. But eventually, all good stories must end; I don't want to believe that the War in Star Wars is eternal and I want the sacrifices of the heroes to be worthwhile. So I'm glad that there's a happy ending. Though I would love to see an adult Omega in some kind of animated show between 4 and 6.

@@dankokamcevski If the finale had been more focused on the bigger picture, more about the fate of the Clones, then I would've liked for it to be darker because it would've made Rex's team rejoining the fight more impactful in Rebels. However, the finale was more personal, of a family trying to save their daughter from evil; in the end the Empire still stands and the galaxy still enslaved. Yet this finale shows how even under tyranny, heroes can make a difference for those they care about and will one day lead to the new hope that will free them all. I'm just a sucker for heartwarming stories these days because life sucks and the world is dark, so sometimes you need that little candlelight to make things brighter. Sorry for waxing poetic.

@@malachiphoniex8501 No, actually I was having a similar conversation with a friend who liked Song of Ice and Fire because it's 'real'. Like if someone's stupid and careless, they're killed. No mercy. I get that, but lately I just want to see some happiness and hope. I want to see good guys win and win totally. I also thought the way Hemlock was so decisively killed was part of this. Shot multiple times, it's like, 'not in this story you're not going to somehow escape like most villains do'. Also when Palpatine was thrown down the shaft, it felt like a real release from evil. (Which now says something about how I feel about 'Somehow Palpatine survived...')

It makes me sad that Crosshair, once such a proud clone, was so affected by his trauma on Tantiss, that he thought he had to do a Plan 99 in order to prove his worth to the team, and because it was what he thought he deserved. I'm glad that Hunter and Wrecker gave him that pep talk to show him that they would save Omega together. It showed that they truly forgave him and that they wouldn't leave Crosshair behind to the Empire again. I'm so happy he survived to have a happy ending. I think this finale was a great subversion of expectation. Everyone came into this episode expecting death of one of the characters and I suppose we were PREPARING to be surprised. Instead, what we got was a final victory of the Clones, death of the bad guys and a happily-ever-after ending, something we were not prepared for, and to me, that, combined with the great epilogue, really hit different. I think we're so used to the gritty ending that we kinda "wince" when that expectation is... subverted.

I fully expected Scorch to die and I was still angry that they killed him off. They could've easily just made him a new commando that people could learn about, rather than plucking something from the EU. Boss, Fixer and Sev (still being MIA) were spared his fate. Outside of this and a few minor things, the series was alright, it had its high and it had its lows, I think its just as equal as the 2008 clone wars. Would I watch it again? Maybe watch a few episodes again but wouldn't see myself rewatching the whole series.

I think a far better death for Scorch would’ve been to have him and some TKs being overpowered fighting the bad batch and the freed clones. Maybe the clones offer to take him alive but Scorch refuses, fighting until he’s overpowered. Is it heroic? @Jodaku
@Jodaku Месяц назад
My fear going into the finale was that we would get a safe, happy, if slightly bittersweet ending. In some ways that's exactly what we got, and I agree that it's even hard to call it all the way bittersweet, and it actually leans more saccharine but it was executed so well that I'm absolutely fine with it. I'm also fine with another member of The Bad Batch not dying as it adds more weight to Tech's death from season 2, which in hindsight, felt like was intentionally underplayed throughout this season, so that by the end and into the epilogue, the weight of his loss is felt again and more palpably. Utilising an epilogue with aged up characters is always a nice cheat code to give a sense of finality, but again, it was sweet and done well, so I have no issues with it and actually kinda love it.
@NotoriousVale
@NotoriousVale Месяц назад
Here goes my essay. I was really hooked at the starts. When the "Squad X" fought the Bad Batch and completely dominated them and cut off Crosshair's hand I really thought we were in for something really serious but after that things just kinda fall into place in a neat way. Maybe too neat? This season really felt to me like they were hoping for one or two more seasons and just got told to wrap it up. Scorch and Clone X get no development or focus and they never really adress Emerie and why there is another female clone like Omega. There's a lot that ends up in the air sort of. In regards of the happy ending, I think that the reason it doesn't sit as well as they may have thought is mostly because though Tech's death and Crosshair's journey you kind of get reminded of the real price of war and being a soldier. A happy ending is a subversion of expectations since everyone was dreading a downer ending but it also feels like a diservice to the tone this show and even TCW at large had set about war. It is weird to think im complaining about getting what i wanted before the episode. Finally, I didn't really liked the epilogue. That final shot of the remaining Batch just looking to the future really had a nice feeling of "anything is possible now" then the flashforward just tells us that they all lived happily ever after and didn't do much after that apperently. Still, I complain because the show really won me over. I still remember after TCW's finale hearing that the Bad Batch was getting a series and thinking "who wants that" and now here I am sad that it is over. I loved the show, mostly because of the brothers and their bonds and just feel like they where just getting their footing in season 3 right when it was over. I'll give it to them, this is the first Star Wars project that made me feel truly attached to it since TCW. Farewell, Bad Batch.

@aquaarietta

You hit the nail on the head on how this finale felt. I think what made it a little lackluster is the stakes didn't feel high enough for a big ending. We all knew Omega would make it out alive--and because big finales typically come with big stakes, I feel like we fans were perfectly justified in expecting heavier losses to come at the cost of Omega's/the children's/the clones' freedom. Maybe it would have felt more of an epic ending if the fate of all the clones weighed in the balance of the final battle, not just the ones on Tantiss. As you said, the previous seasons really seemed to be building up to a larger scale final conflict. Similarly, Rex and Echo were putting so much pressure earlier on on Hunter and the rest of the Batch to do more for the clones and the early rumblings of rebellion. I guess that's why the happily ever after ending on Pabu also seemed lackluster because it didn't deliver on the big questions they were being asked earlier on. Hunter just wanted to keep their heads down and survive, which was a point of conflict---and then that's exactly what he and the remaining Batch got to do. It feels like corporate Lucasfilm meddling made the story of the Bad Batch pivot at the end to wrap things up quicker than the original story was going to be. I went into this episode fully expecting to be emotionally wrecked, but I was feeling happy-ish yet ultimately let down at first with the ending. However, I did cry like a baby when we saw grown up Omega and her leave to join the rebellion. But I think that's just because I always have an emotional soft spot for seeing kid characters grow up and find their purpose. Overall, this wasn't the worst ending, but it certainly didn't live up to its potential for a series that's spanned a few years now. I hope we get more Omega and all of the Batch sprinkled in future animation projects set during this time period. Maybe we'll get a Tales of the Bad Batch someday, haha.

Hey Thor, Where's the death? Where's the sacrifice? It makes me feel that there was a narrative pivot at some point that derailed the plan of one or more of the batch dying. And what about the scenes where someone was putting on a helmet without showing their face. I've got to believe that was a "somehow Tech returned" scene that got scrapped. I have some gripes with the plot armor, but it was really good overall. I liked that it came down to Crosshair and Omega trusting their skills and putting everything on the line. Nice character growth. My only issues with it were that we didn't see Crosshair grieve his hand in any way, and Wrecker absolutely should have died at the end. It just seems far fetched that four guys all either seriously injured or with preexisting health issues could completely clear out one of the most important and well funded Imperial strongholds. There was a moment after Hemlock died when they started to leave that I thought, "Wait, are there just no more enemies?". Kinda undermines the Heir plotline if Tantiss is so easy to take over. (Also I'm convinced that Project Stardust is the single best thing to happen to the Rebels, it's stolen funding from so many actually threatening projects at this point) Over all, extremely well done, it just had a bit too much of a Disneyfied ending. The flash forward was really cool, even if I'm worried what kind of fanart will spring from it.

I really like when a story kills its characters it gives stakes and shows the character of the author. That being said I’m really glad everyone lived this because it makes the death of Tech that much more bitter sweet that get to live happily ever after but the squad will never be complete. The loss of one member hits so much deeper than multiple deaths imo

One of thing i found amusing was that 'clone x' that had a helmet that looked a bit like Tech's with the two round visors. I was bracing for something about this being Tech and him still being alive just for Wrecker to slam him headfirst into a wall. I'm glad Tech stayed dead.

I thought the tense situation the Batch found themselves in was great. And I LOVED that we didn’t have a direct setup for another show. Having the Batch retire in peace was truly wonderful and added much to their characters. That said it felt as though (and this could be applied to the whole second half of the season) that things were rushed. This wasn’t the bittersweet sendoff for the clones. Having no Rex felt disappointing given all of his work to try and save his brothers. The clones are in a sort of limbo space as of now and I wish that we could have gotten more of a concrete ending and satisfying resolution for them. It was unfulfilling given how much we lingered on these points. The Empire really doesn’t feel like an overwhelming threat at this point of the Star Wars history. Also it was sad to see the Republic Commandos relegated to Empire grunts who aren’t all that more effective than a normal clone trooper.

Typing this as I'm listening. Mixed feelings, thought at least two more of the bad batch should've died. There wasn't enough consequences considering how long they built up Mount tantis, they kept overcoming odds that I thought would result in deaths unscathed. Used random clones as canon fodder which was jarring. Granted it had to fail in order to support the problems the Empire/First order face later down the line in order to bring back The emperor. The escape was just too easy They did Scorch so dirty, and overall clone commandos dirty. Rebels did the same with Death troopers. Just make these specialist soldiers seem incompetent/not a threat. You see what Gregor is capable of as a clone commando in the clone wars and then all these other clone commandos get made to look like glorified regs its ridiculous. I like that they made Omega a rebel I think that works but I think they compromised a promising storyline by allowing us to know Crosshair, Wrecker and Hunter go untouched all the way till 5BBY as it would've been acceptable imo to make the Bad batch survive this series and then die in another TV show with Rex and co in a massive battle/last stand which would have messed up Rex, Wolffee and Gregor leading them to go into hiding. I think Dave filoni forgets this time period is supposed to be dominated by the empire up until ANH hence why it's known as the dark times. There being rebellions and small hiccups is okay but ultimately the empire should be emerging on top. This doesn't support the arrogance that the empire have in Rebels if a small squad (not discrediting the fact they're an elite commando squad) can just infiltrate bases and win unscathed aside from Techs death. I know project necromancer is a secret so most imperials wouldn't know about it but it doesn't sit right with me how these shows leave more questions when you think about Rebels and Andor. I expect Rex's story to make sense in another show as we still don't know when Wolffee deserts, what happened with Cody exactly etc but I hope Filoni keeps in mind that it has to all go south as at this point it'll start to look like he'll be wanting to retcon Rebels. The reluctance to have more consequences in this finale makes me worried how he'll go about wrapping up these plotlines.

I was more so waiting for a bigger clone uprising with Rex, Wolffe, and Cody. Echo liberating the clones was easily my favorite moment but I can’t help but feel S2 was eluding to something bigger with the clones and S3 would go all in with a clone rebellion. @@thorskywalker Endings don't have to be tragedies to be emotionally impactful. It's perfectly understandable that you found it somewhat lacking, but I at the very least found it much more better as it was, because it goes well with one of the core themes of Star Wars while cleverly subverting it: that of redemption and sacrifice. Crosshair was ready to sacrifice himself, saying that "Clone Force 99 died with Tech", but the Bad Batch stuck together despite the hardship and losses and made it through together. Unlike Rampart (or Cid, for that matter), who got a lonely ending because he could only think about himself. And unlike CloneX, who basically represented Crosshair's future if he had decided to be a good soldier instead of a good brother and stick with the Empire. All in all, a happy ending for the family works a lot better thematically (and for me, emotionally) than a bittersweet ending.

I also didn’t realize the episode was almost 50 minutes long so as I was watching I kept expecting it to end on a cliffhanger but it just kept going which made for a very satisfying watch. It really did feel like a cliché happy ever after but with how dark this season felt going up to it I thought it was deserved. My one spoilerish complaint below The only real complaint I had was cross hair getting his hand cut off made it feel like the moment where he hit that clean shot on the handcuffs kind of a cop out, I know he was using his off hand which was technically more impressive but I felt it would’ve been a good time to show him getting over that trauma with his shooting hand ina triumphant moment.

It would seem the most plausible and as we do not see them in Rex’s group in Rebels. Honestly, at first I was annoyed that it was a happy ending, but realized that it truly is amazing that some of the clones were able to finally get the opportunity to live a peaceful life after fighting in a war in which they were pawns. On a larger note, we finally see several Star Wars characters get a happy ending, which many do not. it was very refreshing and I’m happy that Hunter, Crosshair, and Wrecker to live out their lives peacefully on Pabu with Omega.

OK so I'm just going to fire off my thoughts about this finale: First, stuff I liked: - As usual, animation, music and sound design are all phenomenal. I know I'm beating a dead horse at this point but seriously it's crazy how far Star Wars animation has come since 2008. - The fight scenes, especially the scenes with the X clones, were cool! These guys almost felt like the opposite of the Bad Batch. - Maybe it's just me but seeing the captured children hug Omega before they left on the shuttle got me in the feels. - Just in general seeing all the people the Bad Batch living happy lives on Pabu was pretty wholesome. - Rampart and Nala Se's deaths. First off, I am so glad Rampart died like the villain he clearly is and as much as I don't like some of the stuff Nala Se has done, I will admit it was pretty badass of her to basically be like, this research is going up in flames and so will I if that's what it takes. - Doctor Hemlock was a great villain, I think he's officially landed a spot in my top 10 favorite villains in all of Star Wars! He was cold and calculating as usual and when things were burning down around him, you can feel him getting angry but in a way that still feels in character. Brilliant stuff! - Seeing Omega save those kids and become a leader in her own right was awesome, her development has been so cool to see. I was also surprised she joined the rebellion as a pilot. I mean it makes sense, but wouldn't have been my first guess for where her story would go. - I'm also glad Tech stayed dead, his sacrifice is still intact, and his death has been felt throughout this entire season! Stuff I didn't like or was mixed on: - I agree, Scorch's Death was frankly really disappointing. Also why was he of all the Delta Squad members working with the Empire like this? In my personal opinion I feel like he's the member of Delta Squad who's the least likely to be in a position like this but I digress. - I am slightly disappointed that we didn't see any more stuff on Rex's potential Clone Rebellion or the Politics of the Clone army that Chu Chi was working on. I won't say it ruined my enjoyment of the finale or anything but I still would have wanted to see more of that. Who knows, maybe they'll do a Tales of the Clones series. - I'm kinda surprised that no other members of the Bad batch died. Maybe not the entire squad but I thought at the very least that Wrecker would die. But hey, I'm not complaining too much. As for why the Empire isn't tracking down the Bad Batch, my theory is that they probably assumed they died in the battle. Idk, maybe I'm grasping at straws but that's what I think.

What was the point of bringing her back to life?

While I don't mind a happy ending at all, and there was a nice emotional fulfillment to how it ended with Omega growing up and taking the opportunity for life the Bad Batch and her other brothers fought for and carrying on that legacy, I felt like they glossed over some things. Obviously, I didn't expect them to go into Captain Rex's clone underground in any depth, and it's probably for the best they didn't try in the time they had as it would split the story and rush things too much. However there was an odd disregard for the complex moral question that the Clone Operatives pose- how much of what happened to them was willing, how do you, can you even, break the conditioning and how much are you willing to risk to do so? If they have to kill them, how do the batchers and other clones deal with that? As it stands, not only do we not see what they're all about in terms of operational capabilities but in terms of their humanity and autonomy. Same thing with Scorch, though that one stings more; I suspect they originally brought him in as a neat cameo, and over time the direction of the overall story forced them to double down on his dogshit characteristization and, inevitably, kill him off. So I don't think it was malicious, but more careless and lazy, especially with the ignoble way they offed him - though it's always possible some latent resentment towards the controversial Karen Traviss and her stories relating to the character fueled their attitude towards the character, or even just the continuing preeminence of the old canon in much of the fanbase in general, I suppose. In any case, they absolutely should have made a new character for the role, one they might have been willing to experiment more, either a clone character that poses a hard moral question as a morally grey or even villianous brother who they maybe can't save despite their best efforts, or a non-clone spec ops type who represents the shift in the nature of Imperial militarism and even the dismissive conempt the Empire shows the clones' service. Any option but this would have not only been more narratively compelling and respectful, but also left fully open the option for use of Delta and other commandos in future stories. Other than that, like Thor I'm glad Rampart continued to be a villian, and though I never much cared for Nala Se I think she went out like G, and that was a cool moment- especially because she framed her actions as much as a matter of personal and national pride as they were a moral imperative, which fits her character well and adds a bit more fun complexity to an otherwise very traditional good vs evil story. As I said above, I also really liked Omega leaving a life of peace to fight in the rebellion because, more than peace or anonymity or security, what her and her brothers fought and died for was the right to choose, to have control of their own lives, whatever that means. These themes of autonomy, though imperfectly shown at times, are present throughout the show, from the chips and order 66 at the start to the conditioning and operatives at the end, so that was a great way of summing it all up. All in all, it wasn't at the level of the Seige of Mandalore arc in TCW, but in my view, it was a solid and fullfilling ending for the Bad Batch characters.

I hope we get a clone show that wraps up the clone saga once and for all. But I kind of hope they don't drag it out too long. Three seasons at most, but in all reality all we need is ONE season 10-13 episodes, 40-60 min each, with the key moments/adventures before we get a conclusion for the average clone. What i really want soon is a show set between the OT films. Because i want to see the OT get a larger context like they did with the prequels. Not that the OT needs it, but when done right it really enriches the movies. Another reason i want this is...okay i don't have OCD, but there is a part of me that is just annoyed with how uneven the two trilogies feel. You know what i mean? There are several tv shows linked to the prequels with Anakin and Obi-Wan, but almost nothing with Luke and the gang. It kind of makes them feel less important when they really are the most important part of the story.

I enjoyed it, but I felt like the ending was too rushed. It wasn't as contrived as other shows like Kenobi and Ahoska where for "reasons" the good guys made it out ok. You really felt like someone was going to die, and it was not easy. It was sad, but reminiscent of the Clone Wars to see clones get mowed down in combat, but this time they were fighting for themselves, not someone else's war. I thought for sure that Wrecker would die. I'm really surprised they didn't kill him or Echo off. Crosshair losing his hand felt very Star Wars-y, but it didn't really effect him. Although it might symbolize Crosshair facing his fear of Tantis and not having his hand shake anymore (also because it's no longer attached to him). I liked how Rampart did not suddenly turn good, and Nala Se got to take revenge for Kamino (both by killing Rampart and destroying the data). It was also cool to see the Zillo beast finding freedom at last. However, we did not get to see Crosshair and Omega interact at all after the rescue. It was cool to see Omega becoming a rebel pilot, but I would have liked to have learned that later and had more time with the squad, or to see what happened to the other clones.

5:55 - The thing to keep in mind is Palpatine never actually KNEW that Omega was the key to everything, he left before Hemlock made that revelation in the 3rd episode of the season. The information of Omega's true significance died with Hemlock and everyone else on Tantiss involved in Project Necromancer. The only person alive who still knows as far as we're aware is Emerie, but it seems unlikely she ever crossed paths with the Empire again following this. The Bad Batch were nothing but a minor inconvenience for the Empire and there's no real reason to go looking for them to Palpatine's knowledge. The key to his goal of achieving immortality was under his nose all along, and the Batch unknowingly threw a wrench into his scheme - some might call that "ironic."

I got the sense that Crosshair and Wrecker weren't included (or even mentioned) in that final scene because the showrunners wanted to leave things open for potential future writers of a potential future series to potentially decide that perhaps one or both of them either died or left Pabu in the intervening years. Or, if some future series shows us that wasn't the case, then we can simply assume Omega said goodbye to them offscreen, just before that final scene.

I loved that they had a happy ending. I realized watching this season (while also watching other shows) that the trend now to make everything so depressing and sad, has made it so I cant even enjoy the happy moments. I felt myself purposely tuning out the sweet moments earlier in the season bec, I knew it was inevitable that everything I loved, about these characters, would be ripped away. I realized even in real life, bec I have grown so accustomed to a sweet happy moment in a show immediately being followed by excruciating heartbreak, I was nervous in my own personal life. I felt like death or freak accidents were right around the corner. I had to remind myself, there are so many people I know that have had good moments in real life and nothing happens to them. This whole season i was nervous for them, and angry bec tv is supposed to help you feel a FULL range of emotions. Star Wars especially is supposed to give you hope. To have them all survive meant so much. Tv and film are there to help you feel more, not to crush you like is so common. It is about hope, because the world is bad enough. When this episode ended, the first thought I had was: Thor, Naboo and all the gang on their channels are going to HATE it that there weren't more deaths and it ended happy. Maybe that isn't fair, but I was pleasantly surprised at how it ended. It is rather nice to see things work out and all the Batch (except Tech of course) live. Questions? Sure, there are a lot of them. As Omega was getting ready to join the Rebellion, we know that last scene was probably about 18 to 20 years later and so apparently Rex, Greggor and Wulf were not the only clones who lived until the original trilogy time frame. I think we'll see more of Echo and possibly Emery in future series. I was surprised at how it all ended, but this is the sort of Star Wars series ending that you don't get to see very often. Think of how The Clone Wars series ended: Ahsoka and Rex staring at graves and then Darth Vader finding Ahsoka's lightsaber in the snow. Rebels ended with Ezra gone, Kanan dead and Hera a single mother. A more-or-less 'they all lived happily ever after' ending will have certainly pissed off a lot of fans, but sometimes things just don't go dark. I'm fine with that, too.

I feel like were all left wanting a little more. I was really surprised by the fact that not a single member of the team died. It feels a little weird to have them all surviving a mission that was supposed to be one of the toughest they ever faced, I think Crosshair’s hand was too low of a price to pay for that success (while taking into account that Tech died in a mission that gave them nothing in exchange but pain, it still hurts to watch that episode), especially when they were facing a whole group of the agents that proved to be such a pain in the ass. I think it would have made it so much more believable to have them survive all of that if Rex’s group had been there to help alongside Gregor and Wolffe. In the end, I liked the finale but it feels like it’s missing something, though I will admit it’s nice to have a happy ending from time to time, with so much trouble in our world right now, it’s good to know that there’s a galaxy far far away in which those endings can happen.

Funny you mention Return of the King…. that silly (NOT in the books) moment when the 4 hobbits are drinking at the green dragon and give each other knowing glances… that’s the sort of emotional closure we needed for the Batch - both with Omega, and again AFTER she leaves. The thing that is so impactful for the last 4 episodes of s7 Clone Wars is not simply the amount of death - it’s the synthesis and understanding of 3 things: what is happening now, the uncertain road of the future (especially WE KNOWING what will happen), and what long, deep experience has led to this point…. that is given time to breathe at the end of CW s7, but for BB3 it is quite rushed after we leave Tantis.

I feel like the only reason that we did not see old Crosshair is because they had to animate them to be old and didn't want to do it for everyone, also I think that Wrecker may have died originally since he really says nothing after they leave Tantiss.

The database was destroyed and most likely no one on top outside of the emperor knew what was going on. So most likely all records of where Omega was found were destroyed. Don't you remember, no one knew the importance of Omega. Geeezzzz, kids.

I’m thinking for sure that the next animated show will focus on the Clones, Rex, their rebellion, and maybe Ventress in the mix. Perhaps they all were going to be in season 3, and this was going to be season 4, or the other way around, but they changed their plan and wanted to focus on the Batch in their own show, and then have the rest be separate.

it was the right call to not kill anyone, it would have damaged the dynamic the finale lefts off with, and it has some deaths that do matter (also it would have been a bit cliche) why would the empire go after them, they probably dont even know about omega, only hemlock and nala se knew, why would they go trough the effort of finding them with the information avalible we dont really know if scorch is death, hopefully he isnt

You want talk about "lose end" Cody nothing in the whole season 3 they never bring him or see him, so what was a point having him back & have him go rouge & not bring him in season 3 this was supposed to be the end of the Clone Saga but no they still have Echo do deal with, Wolfe still part of the Empire, & Rex is still found any of rough clones left.

There's still around 15 years between the end of Bad Batch (minus the epilogue) and the appearance of Rex, Wolfe, and Gregor in Rebels. Plenty of space for more stories focusing on the Regs.

I definitely feel on the whole like Thor. Endings are hard to do and I definitely feel like it was at least a fairly adequate ending, but definitely missed a lot of the more emotion and impact and dark subject matter that we have been having. The ending was pretty abrupt also and also kind odd they went back to the same planet that the empire already knows they were on. Sure the research got destroyed but still the bad batch are known subversive entities and they just wrecked a trillion dollar project. That would be worth at least pursuing them for. And the call for omega and her location was a general call to tons of people and Palpatine even knew, kinda odd they would just shrug and leave them alone when they’re in the literally one location they would be most likely.

I absolutely LOVED this!! Same as you I was so tensed waiting for deaths. So when they didn't come I was so relieved! And that epilogue... oh my, so nice! Not everything needs deaths to leave emotional mark. Enjoy it man, relax...

I am also not sure what to make of the ending in the sense that everyone survived. But what I have to admit is that I actually did feel some tension, because Techs Death established the potential of them dying and all of them being characters we dont know anything about later in the timeline only deepens that potential . I actually felt some sort of relief when they finally rescued omega and everything worked out. I think it would've been even more intense if someone died, but all things considered it still was pretty good.

I think you nailed it with the "bittersweet ending." Return of the Jedi is my favourite Star Wars movie, in large part because of the bittersweet but happy ending. And don't even get me started on the Clone Wars season 7 finale.

Spoiler comment here (obviously) I was so certain Wrecker would die. At the point where Echo asks where the others are, he seems on the brink of death, and the next time we see either of them is back on the island. Definitely some cut scenes there, it was a too large leap from scene to scene for those After the attack on Wrecker last episode, I was certain he'd be at least somewhat immobilized, further enhanced by the lack of a medpack mentioned in the beginning of this one, but nah, he's fine, even after the electrospear attack and everything

@@Changingtesting Completely agree, he was just a chonker stormtrooper at that point, taking the same amount of shots to go down as Hemlock, which is absurd as well

Hemlock for me was very interesting because he had intelligence like Grand Admiral Thrawn but also had a level of craziness to him with his experiments. He is definitely one of the best Star Wars villains ever and certainly the best one created after Disney bought Lucasfilm.
@JoRoq1
@JoRoq1 Месяц назад
I wouldn't say craziness, more lack of empathy. He was completely detached from everyone, seeing everyone as tools and only assigned value based on how much they contributed to Project Necromancer and to his own satisfaction. Definitely a great new antagonist to add into the franchise, playing a very different role and methodology than a stock Imperial scientist.

That so? I dunno, Feel like we've seen my share of mad scientists in star wars before. Usually ones that at least partially get to complete the projects. Not sure if Hemlock properly stands out for me.
@JoRoq1
@JoRoq1 Месяц назад
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 Hemlock wasn't the "mad scientist" type. He was reasoned, disciplined, and grounded. What makes him stand out is the pure utilitarianism he applied to everything and everyone. His key flaw was the complete lack of empathy. He just didn't care beyond what anyone contributed to his project and ambitions. He didn't seem to be afraid of Palpatine, nor was he afraid of Tarkin. I don't think it was in him to be afraid, that the idea was foreign to him. He knew of fear as something that happened to others and was more than willing to exploit it, but he did not actually know fear itself until the very end. As he viewed others only as tools, he viewed his interactions with Palpatine and Tarkin as them equally using him as a tool. Important until no longer useful. And he was okay with that, because he couldn't understand the universe any other way. He just had to make sure he was never not useful.

Appreciate the good work on this channel. Thank you 👍🏾 My view is I think Tech’s death (yes a season ago) and a shooting handless Crosshair is kind of enough tax to pay for a balanced ending. I didn’t need to see more die personally but that’s just me.

I wouldn't be surprised that someone higher up in Disney or Lucasfilm interjected somewhat last minute and told the showrunners that the Bad Batch must all survive as at the very end we don't see Omega saying goodbye to Wrecker or Crosshair (and in extension Echo). Leads me to believe they were originally meant to be killed off leaving only Hunter. A almost too happy (or should I say Disneyfied?) ending to a great show. P.S: I also wouldn't doubt this decision was made by Filoni given his recent track record of not letting characters go when their story is complete, or in Crosshair's case, comes full circle.

When I really think about it, every Star Wars movie other than 4 has a bittersweet ending. Star Wars really does do that well. I really loved the series and the journey these characters took. I’m really sad Disney doesn’t seem to get it with their live action shows, especially when the animation does this great. I would love to see an heir to the empire adaptation in this style of animation

I could not agree more with your opinion. I feel the exact same way, I think mainly because Tantiss is hyped up as such a high security area and making it even more dangerous with Hemlock's intellect, it felt strange how all the members of the Bad Batch made it out alive, minus Crosshair's hand, especially since Wrecker was already injured. That along with the genuine luck of Wrecker's surprise attack turning the tide of the escape attempt is maybe why it felt to easy and like there was more that could be done, but I agree, I enjoyed the ending and it was a good episode, but I feel like it should not have been that big of a happy ending.

Yeah, it really is weird how no one from the BB was killed. Even everyone in Rogue One died during their mission and I believe Scariff was far less secure than Tantiss. You're also right about how the Empire just lets the clones live on Pabu given all the trouble & compromise they caused. One more thing this proves how people who stay loyal to or wants to negotiate with Empire like Hemlock & Rampart always die in the end.

Hi, @Thor Skywalker. The last scenes with reanimated clones remind me of Universal Soldier, and in the begining of the show they showed Crosshair killing insurgents in the jungle, again, like Universal Soldier. Do you have in mind making a video about the similarities between that movie and Bad Batch?
