I got married in 2014 in Saigon. I think the most stressful part you missed.... the wedding pics weeks before LOL. Beautiful couple and cheers to many more happy years together. We moved to the states a few years back and are now coming back for Tet with 3 little ones for their first trip to Vietnam. Very excited to be back. If I see yah around... a round or two on me !

Vietnamese weddings are typically 400 - 500 guests , because the community and family had to plan and organize so much they invited everyone who help during the whole process.

Safety tip. During the evening part of the wedding ceremony, in the wedding hall, during the photo session, do not try to cut into the cake. The wife-to-be-will may whisper "it is not real". She'll try to break your wrist to stop you and you'll start laughing. It is a pretty convincing prop.

Đám cưới ở vn đãi 3 ngày 3 lần. Đám nhà trai đám nhà gái. Rồi đi rước dâu cuối cùng là đi ra nhà hàng. Nếu là thôn quê thì đãi mâm dựng rạp không cần nhà hàng

Back in the old days in Vietnam, at weddings, the bride and groom didn't have to hand out lucky money to the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Nowadays, it's like the bride and groom dishing out cash to them is an extra twist that doesn't really align with the traditional origins of weddings in old-school Vietnam.

This wedding is not totally traditional, compare to my wedding year ago. Even the dress are not the same, the couple should be wear Ngũ Thân/Nhật Bình depend on where they came from. Ao Dai is just a modern dress that mixed with France dressing style, it's not that traditional
