So We Bought A Car....From A Guy Named Squirrel. 

This was one of the most fun vids we have done I really had no idea how or where this was going! We discussed the options and the fact that an s10 and a typhoon/Syclone are large parts of my fathers/Fasterproms history and led us to modernizing the platform. We decided that it had to be AWD, Manual, V8, Twin turbo, just saying it out loud sounds kinda sexy! If you guys watch till the end it’s all laid out and revealed. I have a 99 s10 blazer sport ls 4.3 vortec I'm putting twin turbos on it and swapping the 4x4 with all wheel drive, if you haven't thought about it I'm going to use an astro van transfer case and front end off a Bravada to I've heard the astro vans transfer is really solid

So the syclones used a Borg warner 4472 tranfer case to achieve the AWD. The 4472 can be had out of any early model AWD astro van, bravada, or safari van. The transfer case and front end are a bolt in affair. make sure you get the front drive (Prop) shaft from the bravada as they fit better with no modification. Cant wait to see this Build!!!!

Tbss transfer case, olds bravada front diff, chop the front k-member for clearance, might need a sacrificial oil pan for clearancing of one axle. Jeep cherokee steering shaft with z24 cavalier rack and pinion. There is no such thing as a budget awd manual s10 build. Making room for everything under the front is going to be the biggest challenge. Good luck on the build i cant wait to see what you guys come up with.

Killer build plan @Fasterproms! I too am planning an AWD swap in an old truck as well, i bought an AWD Astro Van (circa 1993?). They share the tcase with the Syclone/Typhoon (good for decent power in stock form), and have the "bigger" front diff. I'm going to use the 700R4, Awd tcase, and both diff's in my truck, but going to custom build all the suspension since the Astro is not a full frame rig. I bought this van COMPLETE for $200 locally (non running) so maybe you guys can source one too!

Oh my! I literally have one of that guy’s family members living down the street from me. He goes by “Coot” and will walk over while I’m working in my shop. More often than not he’s carrying at least 2 Natural Light cans that he’ll go through in the first 5 minutes, then he hits my fridge in the shop looking for whatever beer I’ve got to guzzle down. Best of all, he likes to tell me about the most memorable times he’s been arrested. Sadly, this happens pretty often. Cheap entertainment I guess, need to record him sometime. Great vid guys!

Squirrel is a “3 in the sky welfare til I die” type of guy... that is awesome! Nice way to introduce a new project!

If you're trying to do a tribute to your old man, who was a notorious bad ass in the 90's, you need to pay homage and make this S10 a AWD turbo V6. That was the original nature of the Syclone/Typhoon, and the spirit of the Sonoma GT. If you're trying to go boosted V8, just go all out and cram the biggest Gen V in there and send it to the rear. To pay homage, dig up some of your father's expertise and drop a Vortec V6 (4.3l+) and mod the hell out of it. It doesn't take much to dig around internet fourms and even Facebook groups to find guys staying true to the form and dropping built blocks, decent heads and valvetrain, and fat snails and AtW and making easy 10s. Love the channel and the builds you do but of you're trying to pass this off as a classic/tribute to the former greats, you need to stay true to form and do right by them. The C4 is a good example. Don't be like Cleeter and do a "budget build auction 'Vette" and then throw a $7k trans in it.

Twin turbo the new GENV 4.3 (LV3). Pick up a salvaged V6 Silverado with 4WD. Possible chassis swap? Dominator EFI, twin turbo, and a 6 speed. Would be a great build.
