Love your vids! Really appreciate your intimate input on one of the most challenging classes to play in WoW (IMO). Monk, across all specs, is spinning plates and micro-managing and your tips and info has made it so much more appealing to come back to monk after my hiatus with them since BfA.
This current monk feels like they merged both of the two play styles of BFA monk healing into one. The start of bfa was heavy casted healing with renewing + the channel aoe spiral thing ( I honestly forgot the name ) with vivify and the later part of bfa heavily into fist weaving with heavy haste
Love your videos! Always very informative and concise. I'm 90% sure I'll be maining MW in Dragonflight and you've helped me pick up the spec very quickly.
Thank you for all your Videos, they are really helpful.❤ I am playing mistweaver for the first time EVER right now and I want to main it in DF. It is really fun.
Hey Meg! I just started playing MW in the pre-patch and your videos have been incredible resources. I think it might end up as my main healer. --- Just a note about the videos I've watched - I have to max out the volume to hear you clearly, especially when my headphones are in ambient mode and I hear background noise. At the same volume level on my end, other content creators are 50-60% louder with their spoken voice. You have a naturally soft voice, which is really nice to listen to, but can be lost amidst other frequencies when too quiet. Keep it up
I also have been looking into MW your videos have great content and makes the class seem less intimidating as jack of all trade specs make me feel I'm doing it wrong so cheer for a great video
Been play WoW since Feb 14th 2021(lol yea). I love the game and more importantly I really like my mistweave monk and I just picked up a monk for the first time this season. Nice video and ty 😊
I just found you, and I love your explanations, so detailed and precise! I have to say, since the new talents, I've been a lil lost so I'm glad I found your videos. Keep it up, new sub here 😆😆
Thanks for the vid. I was hoping someone will showcase the pure caster MW in raids (or at least M+) but once again I was left disappointed by getting theory crafting without any gameplay to back it up. I hard disagree that the entire turret healing build with clouded focus, tear of morning, lifecycles is meant for PvP as it practically screams "heavy 5-10 man group damage". I personally love fist weaving, so this is by no means me dissing that playstyle, but rather weighing the pros and cons. In ruby pools last boss for example, fistweaving is terrible since you can barely touch the boss and you're forced to use an unbuffed version of the caster build. At that point it doesn't matter how well you did in the rest of the dungeon if you can't heal a certain part. This is an aspect many players seem to ignore. I completely agree with you on the "healers shouldn't push to do DPS" part. Obviously I try, and would welcome the caster build doing damage, but I find it funny when rdruids or prists focus so hard on doing 5% total damage that someone dies because of it, losing the group way more damage overall.
Love your content even though most of the time I play as tank but I will try out monk healer seems a very interesting class and challenging and fun to play.
The Mistweaving vs Fistweaving debate is much more interesting in a PvP setting since it heavily changes the playstyle, and adds an element of risk vs reward that's absent from PvE where doing damage during down time is obviously the only right choice.
Well for MW specifically it's less interesting... Fistweaving for pvp is to apply pressure to certain classes and specs, mistweaving is often the goto for pvp too...
It's mind boggling to me that players would rather stand in ranged and do nothing/overheal while there is no incoming damage. Even if you choose to not run Rising Mist, you should still be in melee whenever there is healing downtime - has nothing to do with talent choices, it's simply good practice. What a lot of healers fail to realize is while healing checks are necessary to meet on certain mechanics, weaving in DPS whenever possible can help your group see less of those healing intense mechanics; this overall saves the amount of wipes/mana/mistakes that can happen across all fronts.
@@Mr91Jmay The problem is the people that play MW as a caster are already practicing a "no damage" playstyle. To say they can just go play a caster healer just means they're going to go play Holy Priest and never cast smite/holy fire/chastise/SWP; it's the same mentality. It's just bad practice to never weave in DPS when possible on any healer spec.
@@Mr91Jmay And MW is really the only healer where you MUST be in melee in order to deal damage and use most utility spells. I've played hpal in S4 and the difference is huge. Holy shock, judgment, Wrath hammer, Vanquisher, ... most dps spells are ranged, and it is basically the same for utilities: blessings, repentance, turn evil, ... I understand why some hpal want a distance playstyle, but for MW I really don't get it.
I think it's just players choose to be a healer strictly for healing, not to play as a pseudo dps. (At least from my experience with friends etc that have started healing but don't want to do damage in downtime). I don't mean that they ignore the fundamentals of MWs kit and avoid melee, but just in general for healing specs it can feel like you're just a dps that occasionally heals and people don't like the idea of that. Especially with how much self sustain tanks have been given. I think shadowlands has played a large part in pushing healer damage with legendaries and covenant abilities that contributed a lot to damage and I don't necessarily agree that it was a good direction. Personally feel as though tank and healer damage has been excessive in SL. They should contribute but not as much as they do.
@@omyslash0 nah they would, because that is just a range damage spell. The chaos of melee healing scares people. If they want to range heal as mist they should probably pvp
What weak aura are you using on the right side of your character? Opposite of your Vuhdo bars? That would be so helpful but I cannot find it anywhere...
@@Megasett Ah that's a shame, instant vivify cleaves have felt so good on pre-patch. Think I'll still give it a solid try to see how it pans out, thanks for the content!
Here i was for the hole time thinking that the ranged mw was a think i've even played it leveled it and raided with and was wondering why is it subpar, i knew there was a melee subspec of it and i just tried it out a few days ago, it's really good just not my playstyle, shame we can't have both functioning ranged and melee to be able to heal pretty much the same. What i don't get about the melee play style this, how the f are you suppose to cast spells even instant ones like Renewing Mist and Enveloping Mist when you are spamming damage? It's not that i can't interrupt my self to do so or anything like that, it's like...i need one more hand! How do others do it, seriously, i've tried 2 mouse buttons for Renewing and Enveloping Mist but then how am i gonna vivify someone? Do you just do macros with key modifiers on top of Tiger Palm, Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick and Spinning Crane Kick?
I have a hard time controlling the feline blue thingy.. tank pulls, I start healing, and put down Awakend Faeline.. tank moves whole group a bit further and can't stand in Awakend Faeline.. And getting it off cooldown, when the whole party starts to die.. is not really great. And with some boss fights, it is terrible to stay at melee range (last boss life pools). Still prefer my shaman over a monk. Even though monk is so much fun.. I don't see it as viable as a resto shaman. (in mythic + that is, in raids they pop!)
