I've NEVER had a problem dating, and though I'm married now, i STILL get approached by men of a certain caliber, because those men are plentiful in the environments I tend to associate most. I've dated "blue collar" men, and we had little in common. They weren't "bad" men, just not my preference. That was her broader point. Also, she NEVER brought up race, when she stated who she wouldn't date. She was asked if she'd date a bus driver, and she said no. No one said "black" bus driver.

Thank you! I've been a long time supporter of Iyanla...and read her books, including Peace from Broken Pieces (which was excellent) about her life. SHE should know more than ANYONE what Eboni was saying. I think despite all her work, Iyanla has some deep seated issues against Black women and in regards to BM (based on her past relationships and her son). I do believe she loves Black women but she's also insensitive to us and unrealistic. Why would a millionaire BW woman date a bus driver. Is this a novel or real life? The irony is that she says we're aggressive and act like men...but she wants us to be RESPONSIBLE for grown men, settle and coddle them. And truthfully, Iyanla can be so aggressive at times that my husband was very turned off by her when I watched Fix my Life. I have to remember as much as I respect her I'm glad I have my own mind and spirit. Because she definitely lost me with this one. I'm nowhere near the level of Eboni career wise, but my father didn't necessarily want me to marry a man that was on his same level career wise. My husband is an engineer...and I married him for more than stability of course, we have love, trust, respect but my parents didn't need or want me to go through the struggles they went through. Life is hard enough without trying to lift a man up in that way from the start. Most MEN don't even want women out earning them by that much anyway...if at all.
