Good afternoon! I'm not about to try to beat this challenge, but I want to thank you guys for the hours upon hours of entertainment and knowledge you've given me. I actually learned how to make sushi with all your videos, although the furthest I've explored with that is the spicy tuna roll. Thank you guys again, hope you and everyone else has a great month!
hahaha It´s ok, I do understand him if he doesn´t want to be recognized in public. But still, as a fan of your channel sometimes one can´t stop being curious about certain things.
Hello Hiro, I admire your abilities! My sushi making is quite slow. For many years I observed "Teddy", the owner and sushi chef at Yoshi's Restaurant near Hoosick Falls, NY. Teddy was good friends with my parents. He helped me with my knife work and taught me how to make sushi rice. Teddy even took me up on the purveyors seafood truck to teach me how to choose fresh seafood. This was way beck in the 1970's, long before sushi became so popular all over the US. Beautiful!
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef yes, that's what I think. He is fast, smart and try to keep working area clean. Moreover he was mention about rice temperature is important to be rolling faster. Thank you Hiro.
Is it ok to use gloves for this challenge? And is it required to use the maki tsu for rolling, or can it just be used to shape the roll? Would love to know! Love the content you guys produce, Good Afternoon!
Wow! Chef You are definately a fast sushi row for california maki. Agreed with you chef that 8 mins to roll the 10 rolls. would be better. Perfect sushi rolls!
I love how even though he's going for speed he redistributes the rice, cuts off some extra avacado, and squares off the edges. A consummate professional.
Hiro, good afternoon! You did a fantastic job and you are so fast ... I think there is nobody who can beat you - if so - this sushi expert deserves your splendid giveaways!!! Looking forward to that ...
@ Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef: ty for your answer! I couldn't beat you although I would like your knife and sharpening stone! According to the money, I would donate it straight away to charity!!!
Man! The pressure in sushi bar is awesome. Was my favorite spot in the restaurant I worked in and loved that the manager trained me! I don’t think I could beat this but I’d love to try to get better and see what I can accomplish one day!
Wow Hiro, impressive ability, you are precise and costant quality that defines a good Chef. Stand up good and hold on. You give inspiration to many future chef, you have to be proud of your job and do not waste your time. Being gentle and captive bit also ready for action is quality. Happy Easter :)
i must say, even though this message probably wont be read by you two! just wanted to say, you both are amazing and always lovely watching your videos. been watching you Hiro for quite some time now and feel like i know you guys like friends. such great guys! Thank you for the entertaining videos!
Good Morning and Happy Bunny Day! Yes, "Teddy"/Teuro was trained in Japan. He moved here sometime in the 1960s. Such a kind person!!!My parents loved Japanese food and met "Teddy" when he was a chef at a restaurant. Over several years my Mom encouraged him to open his own restaurant, and he did, which was located right up the road from where my parents lived. Needless to say, my family and I were often there. Thank you for all your fantastic videos!
I like your haircut Hiro-san. You are looking good. Those rolls are beautiful. Some quality shoyu and wasabi and we'll be all set! I hope someone really deserving wins this contest. Thanks for another great video.
Could you explain me about rule number 3? Do I need to make sushi only one by one like Mr.Terada? Can I place just 10 sheets of nori at a time and go on?
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef Thanks! Then as long as rice is not preformed in a bowl, I can make California roll in any way right? And result should be pretty enough to serve😁
Is the challenge to do it one at a time? Because if not…then 10 rice balls, use to get ten sheets of Nori. Put all avo, crab stick in then roll without the wrap on the Matt. Cut them all them plate? Cuts the time in half. But still love the content would love to try this challenge for fun😁
I did that when I was working at Pei Wei, but we didn’t have a shaker for the sesame seeds, and we had to use a measuring scoop for the rice on a big sheet of nori
Man this challenge sure brings back memories, of when I used to work in a Japanese restaurant and had to make 120 California rolls in an hour before service begins.
@@dragon-nutz California rolls had to be pre-made 30 minutes before lunch hour. Once the lunch hour rush gets in, all rolls would be gone. However, all the other rolls on the menu are freshly made. California rolls are the restaurant's most popular rolls because it's part of the 6 different bento boxes combos.
You guys are very positive, I like your video's a lot! Keep it going, maybe next time you can show how to make shrimp easy but tasty :) I wish you guys all the best!
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef Thank you so much chef, I already watched tempura and I think I can do it by myself. I wish u all the best! Good afternoon :)
ok cool idea but how much does this cost to make?...i don't eat or make sushi so not sure but is this expensive to make....$30 or so?....this will stop a lot of people trying the challenge
That’s another great video guys!! I’m going to try this but ban I use salmon and shrimp instead of crab sticks as we don’t eat them!! I’ll cut them into the same size if it helps. Oh and good afternoon!!
You are very fast Hiro, and I am a big fan of your channel, I will accept this challenge and make a video as soon as possible, because I think I can beat your record 🙏 😁
Chef Hiro started slow with avg 50 sec per roll but the second last took him 44 sec and the last one took him 36 sec....so in theory his best could be around 6-7min
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef - thank you for the answer, I ask about the crab sticks beacuse I am in Switzerland and was actualy hard to find the crab sticks hear; but I accept the chalange, good luck to all
I'm sure the winner will be someone with sushi making experience. Probably won't be an average person or at home cook. Would take me the 8 1/2 min to make 1 or 2 at most. Lol! Also Charles Preston, you have the best job tasting all his food!
