- Finishing Fates / Sidequests / Sightseeing Logs - Leveling Crafting & Gathering Jobs / Raiding alt to Raid with friends outside Static - Farming Extremes 1 and 2 while not getting any mount or crafting loot after the 113th clear...

Just played through the whole game for the first time as a black mage, finally picking up a second job and starting red mage… realizing I’ve been playing on hard mode this whole time

nice refresher and info for newcomers! I'm curious where the "50% more rewards" will come into play. So far we do have more dungeon chests which are admittedly quite nice, but I wonder if they changed stuff for later too. Maybe more raid drops to roll 1s on? More chests in Alliance so you can pick and choose since it's one per week anyways? Or the dreaded Criterion... We'll see.

Im most excited for whatever the Eureka/Bozja equivalent which will eventually come out. Eureka was a love/hate relationship for so long but once it got its footing it wasn't so bad. Bozja was really fun side content for me. I'm hoping the wait for DT's version of those isn't too long.

It always surprises me from people who have been with this game longer than me and say there's nothing to do after MSQ. XIV almost always has something you can do in it - you just did the only part you wanted to do is what I usually get from those words. This game above many others often has very clear schedule about certain things and when they are added. So just take a break and come back for what you want. Wait for Cosmic exploration, Ultimate, Raids in just a few days and Savage in weeks, Beastmaster and all the rest of 7.x. Otherwise, here's a list: - Leveling gatherers / battle jobs / crafter - Doing their respective side quests in DT tied to roles - Hunts / Extremes / FATE farms - Collecting, which can be anything from Fishing to minion hunting in dungeons On personal note, it's an MMO, find like minded people to do this stuff with. Back and forth chatting and united interests in these things make the whole thing feel much less like a check list of things you could do and don't force yourself if you don't want to.

I played shadowbringers and endwalker but didn't come back for this. This video kinda made me realize why: it's all the same. Ff14 is fun, but also really samey with each expansion

I have expansions for 2 more MMOs to prep for, so DT returns to the back burner until... idk until the new Bozja, maybe. I'm too old for "make work" projects lol, better to stick to weekly gold saucer but otherwise play through my backlog.

I went back and picked up where i left off in Bozja. Did all of Zadnor ranks (16 to 25) in a night and had some major help from strangers for Dalriada. There's so much old content I'm having a great time with!

I got all my 700 gear in about 2 hunt trains, highly recommend it

I’m gonna level VPR through Fates and max bicolors out every so often cause right now crafting mats that can be bought for bicolors are worth a lot and people are willing to slum and shell out heaps of Gil

Even if you don't care too much about the rewards from FATEs, if you are leveling alts you are probably better off just joining a FATE group and leveling that way over doing dungeons. Put something on the second monitor and level at "close enough" to the same speed as dungeons. The upside is you make a very large amount of gil just selling high value gemstone items. I leveled DNC like 5 levels and completed 2.5-ish zones and made about 3-4 million Gil at the same time since prices are so high.

Also for people who have gil to burn or enjoy farming gil: there is a new mount you can buy in Solution 9 for 7.5 million gil.

Im glad to see you finally address the crafted gear releasing on the same day as savage, I remember so many redditors fuming at that even though it actually made sense that they would release that way at launch 🤣

To anyone wanting to make easy money : If you have both miner and botnaist max level, get the crafted gear, meld it so it has enough for legendary nodes, then pentameld with any low cost materia. Once this is done, buy some spiritbond potion and go farm the legendary nodes (1 spawn roughly every 5m). Legendary nodes will make your gear spiritbond really fast (7-8 nodes for a full spiritbond). Prices are starting to drop but it's still really profitable and really low effort.

So if I want to do Savage I will need to purchase crafted gear immediately upon its launch?

Lot of folks up and done w/ the game until more content drops; as someone who started playing 9 or so months ago and taking it slow and finishing side content before I go into endwalker, there’s still a veritable treasure trove of content for me to go through; guess that’s the issue with playing something for years on end, eventually you just run out of things to do. Thankfully, this game even rewards you for taking breaks, hah

Could someone give me a breakdown how savage rewards work, in the past i've seen some things about 0 out of 2 chests but i've not raided on patch then so can you just keep farming the savage for books like extremes for totems and chests are bonus or are chests the only way to get gear and you have to get lucky with both drops and rolls

I finished all the role quest but I'm too busy to do ex raid my kids won't let up hopefully I can get time on the weekends

The problem I'm having is I want to do ex and savage content but a lot of the pfs I've joined disband too quickly and I don't know how to go about finding a static lol

The big problem with FATEs, and the reason I usually never do them outside of farming EXP for another Job is because it scales your level down, which removes your access to some abilities, which is not fun in the slightest. It doesn't feel like proper end game content I can sink my teeth into and grind. (I don't always want to play another job when playing, I would love to play my main). EDIT: Tbh, there isn't much meaningful content you can do on your main job at max level.

Play something else. That's what I do :D

Lvl something elsebc blm feels like ass now is my personal goal. I love losing my main two expacs in a row

Honestly the gearing system is convoluted and tedious. Trash system for sure, why lock them away behind savage?

Do we still not have any good open world content? Just the same stuff as always. Why can’t they gives us events and meta events like GW2? Or world quests and invasions like WoW?

Getting to the post MSQ is when the expansion finally gets good. The MSQ was imo the worst since ARR. I see people saying atleast Lyse isn't there but I like Lyse way more personally than Wuk Lamat. I wish Koana had been the main character.

I’m enjoying this expansion but I think it’s getting to a point where they going to have to try something new, revamp the combat or something. Stop adding all these classes.Nobody trying to level all these classes each new expansion

Now you unsubscribe, since the job design has been in a freefall since 2017 and now that they can't even write a proper story there isn't really a reason to stick around.

I’m getting tired of these predictable expansions, lack of content as always. Also ERP, Glamour, Sitting in one spot, etc is not content to me. Every expansion it’s just a couple dungeons and trials, then you clear them and boom the content is dry until the Raid Tiers. I don’t do Maps or any of that because i’m already sitting on 300M+ gil.

Regret you ever wasted time/money on such a shitty game.
