Thank you,.... This buffoon's comment of... "It may not be as Iconic as a Harley Davidson" nearly put my 34" monitor existence in jeopardy,... In biking circles, we have a convenient description for people that display that kind of disrespect,... It begins with a 'T',... ends in a 'T' and has a WA in the middle. At the time this icon of design, style and performance came out,... HD Engineers were just figuring out how to make their bikes go around corners quickly without fear of imminent death. ** Don't get me wrong,... HD's are wonderful,.... If I could afford to buy one and insure it,... I'd be riding one already,... But damn,... We even named it after the Salt Flats in recognition of the importance of America in the automotive and motorcycle achievements ,.,..... Rant over.

I got a t120 as my first bike and its amazing. They've all got the cool factor (apart from grandads speedmaster), perform well, can tour, can ride with pillion comfortably, can put up with light offroad, can go round a corner. Can't ever see me getting rid of it. When I need another bike, I'll probably buy an adv bike and then I'm done for buying bikes

Is t120 comfortable for long travels? Like 800-1800 kilometers away ?
@ilikelampshades6
@ilikelampshades6 Год назад
@TTS17 - the Token Square Hello, I've not done rides that long. I frequently commute 50/60 miles each way to work and it's fine for that. Without a fairing, the wind at 70mph can be tiresome and if you ride in the dark you will need to buy upgraded lights. The headlight is terrible. Other than the headlight, it's an amazing bike. I'm averaging 63mpg which would be important for touring.
@sebastians.6084
@sebastians.6084 Год назад
I can confirm that my t120 is a good touring bike - as good as a naked bike can get. I bought it last December and already did 5000 km on it. Longest travel was 650 km from Switzerland across the Alps to Italy, with approx. 30% highway traveling. On the highway, the built-in cruise control comes in handy. For me (1.86m tall) the sweet spot is around 120 km/h. At that speed, wind pressure keeps me upright and the cruise control stabilizes the riding experience. 👍 As for suspension, I upgraded the rear shocks to Fox shocks, that allow easy adjustment of the inbound speed - that's particularly handy when riding with luggage. Hope this helps a bit.... 😊

@sebastians.6084
@sebastians.6084 Год назад
@@tts17-thetokensquare68 You're welcome. I forgot to confirm that the headlight is indeed terrible, as someone wrote previously. It uses an H4 bulb, but low-beam is IMHO way too weak - max speed with this low-beam light output is around 70-80 km/h at night times. As a result, I ordered a modern LED headlight recently, but I haven't upgraded it yet. The weather is too sunny for a garage job... 😜 Oh....and I changed to Avon Spirit ST tires about 500 km ago - brilliant swap so far. The Bonny is much more nimble, stable around the corners and the tire feedback gives me way more confidence compared to the OEM Pirelli Phantoms. 👍

The handling has more capability than I have courage, which is to be preferred and there’s more than enough power on tap. The styling of the bike attracts the attention of older gentlemen and also children. Lol. All part of its charm, I suppose.

We tuned ours and are getting 103hp at the wheel as well as 85ft/bs... Tossed on some Ohlins shocks and a damper, K-Tech cartridges and springs up front and you can cruise in style or do a track day on it, and it won't have you visiting the chiropractor after each ride.

a bonneville video with no mention of the DGR ride? here in Austin, it's a massive thruxton & bobber convention, complete with wax mustaches and monocles.

An American saying: A triumph is not iconic as Harley Davidson. I was not surprised by that comment. :D

Totally off video subject but, I saw my first Jixer? 650 tonight. It was a lot louder than I thought it would be. He rode down the highway and I swore I heard it miles away

I rented a Bonneville a few years back, put 300 miles on it in a day long ride. It is not a good retro bike. It is a good bike period. Wish the gas tank was a gallon or more bigger, and that the instruments were more readable. But it was just a fun bike to ride through the desert on interstates and back roads alike

As a 2020 t120 black And 2021 Ducati streetfighter V4s owner. I’m sure Ducati is only temporarily. T120 will stay forever.

You gyus should test Junak 400 one of those days (if it's even available in US). Imo it's competition for svartpilen 401 but I only test ridden both of them.

Great video, Yam. You need to get a Street Triple 765 R and do a video of where it fits in the market place.

The T120 is my dream bike and I'm close to finally pulling the trigger, but frankly, I have one big and lingering question about Triumph in general- are they really worth the money? They seem kind of expensive for what they are, honestly. I was looking at the Kawa z900rs as well as the Sportster too (is there a reason that you never see people putting a bench seat on a Sportster? I'd have thought that it would be a popular mod to give the bike more of a "standard" look as well as riding position but I can't find this kind of seat or anyone who's done anything like it online). The Triumph is the one I really want, but I'm just not sure if I can justify the price tag- I just feel like I should be getting more bike somehow for close to $10k used. Is that wrong?
