Thanks for this. I just started trying Miyamoto lately to see if his playstyle works for me and I was thinking he might be the pick for my first 1cc - this is further evidence toward that theory :) Very useful tips, I learnt a couple of things!
My problem with shmups is I can't see anything. Enemy bullets just blend into the background, even if they're bright pink like in other shmups. My eyes generally just hover around my ship so I can dodge all the bullets and because bosses are generally so big I just shoot in their general direction without looking only checking where they really are when I get a break between patterns. It's such a sick genre that I keep trying to understand them better but my progress has been slow.
I generally try to have my viewpoint be a few ship sprites above myself, this way I dodge via peripheral and I get more time to plan my inputs ahead of time.
Man this and your recent Batrider video are seriously lifesavers. Thanks for taking the time to simplify the strategy for these games. They can be so daunting and complex when trying to learn them. Im sorry lil Jon poopypants is having a mental breakdown in the comments. He should cheer up by playing the classic shoot ‘em up game “Battle Garegga” instead of being a party pooper on the internet

Ah yes the C button "cheat" a function well documented in the game and in arcades, that shrinks your hitbox by one or two pixels. Also the B button "cheat" and ABC "cheat" Are you having fun accusing me of cheating because you're just bad at these games and cant handle when someone younger than you (23) is good at them? @@ASE-PRL it is a cheat. Kid I have had the Saturn version since it was first released. I didn't buy it 10 years ago because some overrated retro RU-vidr liked it. If you try to micro dodge with the original settings you'd lose all your lives by Stage 2. You got no choice but to bomb if you want to survive bosses and once you run out it's credit feeding time. You exploited a cheat. Admit it. Don't worry SFKhoa isn't gonna go to your house and throw eggs at your windows.
Wow you had it for that long and you're still shit! Thats hilarious LMAO. The hitbox size only decreases by one or two pixels when selected, infact its worse for score to use this character type.
I'm also a normal person (with a few 1cc's of some easy games) but I get game overs before that a *lot* around 6:20 ~ 7:00 mark and yet I still like this game point invalidated
@@flobeamer1922 He's exploiting the C button cheat, glitch, whatever you wanna call it that reduces the hitbox size. I had no idea such thing existed in the game. This game really is impossible to 1cc without exploiting that glitch.

I've been playing this game since the Jurassic period and never gotten past the first few enemies. I pride myself and think of myself as a man of honor who doesn't succumb to the temptation of using illegal cheats in these classic shooters. It's pretty obvious too. When I enabled the C button bug, I could 1cc this game after only a few attempts.

If you mean the very beginning? Point your options downward to take out the gunblimp without spawning additional medals! The mame border is from someone named Laura, I'm not sure where you can find it, but I can provide it to you if you'd like; there's already a modified rom called the "Zakk Rom" that shows rank ingame that you can find
