I'm starting a new collection at the age of 14 I only have like 7 items in my collection right now but the only thing I'm stuck on is trying to see what country/ time period to start off researching and buying etc luv ur vids WorldWarGuy :)
I've been collecting militaria for quite a few years. I used to organise public events displaying military social history 1914-2014. I have 20,000 images in my archives, copied or donayted from originals belonging to units or veterans(with their permission). Trench art, originals and replicas of posters, webbing, uniforms, maps, bayonets, badges, helmets, got an impressive selection of a lot of kit. We even have WW1 and WW2 currencies, cover the Cold War era, and am currently collecting Warsaw Pact images, badges and uniforms. From organising events we also began supplying museums, schools and community events with temporary museums , which are very popular, one thing we learned, if there's money to be made fakes will appear.
I started my collection in the start of this year, at first I was a noob but then I started watching your tiktok videos and stuff and I learned alot. I collect Finnish militaria 1900-1946 and you really helped me thanks man
I am 15 years old, I have been collecting since I was about 9. I have always loved it. Now, I didn't learn a terrible lot from this video, however, This is amazing for beginners. I would killed to have this kind of video to watch when I was 8 or 9. I still consider myself a beginner because I am. However I hope one day to have a great job with a huge collection, I know this is wishful thinking but whatever, great job my friend.
Awesome breaks my heart in a way though i want to collect just ww2 items in general any side and you right off the bat proclaimed it as niche collection type saying just buy what you want i agree but definitely support but i say diversify ya never know what others want and what they could trade or something i just like cool old stuff keep up the good work and dont stop enjoying man
Great video. I have been collecting for around 10 years. Some stuff are very cheap, it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Many military items can be found in garage sales, flea markets and so on.
What is a really good book that talks about and shows the equipment and extra gear that airborne infantry used? Specifically what went inside of their musette bags or their uniforms that they used along with web gear.
Had a guy trying to sell an M1 helmet for $3,500, and I asked if it was a mistake in price or what kind of story comes with it. He said none. I found it in a thrift store, and that's what I want for it. No, I want take less. I asked, well sir, last question. How many acres of land does the helmet come with? I have not heard from him..hahaha Good content, and thanks for sharing it with us
I’ve got some stuff, want to start collecting a bit more. Rn I have mostly reproduction stuff but one guy I work with (ex-royal marines commando) who collects gave me a bunch of stuff from ww1 up until afghanisdan. A lot of British, American and German cap badges and stuff from ww2, A No.4 Mk.1 Lee Enfield spike bayonet, a genuine parachute regiment beret with cap badge and a bunch of other stuff. Things that ive got myself are all replicas except one because I don’t have the money for the real things, US helmet from ww2, German ww2 helmet, US m3 fighting knife, US 18 inch military jungle machete (by Ontario knife company, the only genuine thing I’ve got myself) and today I ordered a replica Luftwaffe boot knife. It amazes me how much some people have and I respect it so much, so much time and money has gone into these collections to keep military history alive.
I started collecting when I was 13 and I collect ww2 and ww1 stuff I like like 6 all German sadly cus that’s all I can afford but are there any good sites for original stuff other than war end shop?
Hi, i heard you like Belgian items. I have a helmet from 1950 or so with decal and liner. Chinstrap is on 1 end loose. Let me know if you are interested.
For invasion of France, M40 probably won't work. Initial invasion was May-June. M40's started appearing in 1940, but in higher amounts towards the end of the year. M36 with bottle green collars is what you want. For Heer winter, there are reversible splinter/white trousers. ATF Sells a Splinter and Marsh camo depending on what year you're portraying. Just a reminder, google is free, and all of these answers come from a ~10 second google search. The easiest way to learn something, is to research it yourself. Asking questions to experienced members should ONLY be a last resort.
