Hi Steve, good luck with hip replacement, had my left hip done 2021 ,doc wanted to do it in 2015 it was really bad shape then. Worked with a cane the last 2 years before operation, on scaffolding, roofs everywhere. Went back to work after 3 months, got rid of the cane after 6 months visiting my daughter in Wales & took 2 years to loose the pain. I'm 65 now & still bend over & put my left leg behind me to lay the lower courses. I feel your pain.

I feel your pain mate. I'm sat watching with my leg up. I was carrying a cement mixer with my son & a scaffolding board gave way under my left leg. I heard a big crack as my knee twisted & can hardly walk. You look after yourself pal.

Dig a small hole at the side of the footing to put the pump in, then sweep the water into the hole. No bucket required.

The wet dry vacuum will remove the water all the way down to moist, almost dry!

making hay while the sun shines or so it is said i do not mind workers working on a Sunday as you could not work in the rain it does not do you any good and when a part of your body is feeling bad then it will only get worse hopefully soon Steve you will be able to get it seen to ,thanks for the video on that beautiful morning

Try a belt magnet for your Trowel Steve . I had never used one all my time in the trade . Im sure its relieved the pain in my hip . Worth a try maybe

I’ve watched a lot of your channel and enjoy your content, work ethic and skill linked with your attention to detail. I’m not connected to bricklaying but have a new appreciation of all the skills that you guys add to our lives after all we all need a roof over our heads. I’d like to comment on your hip and offer an alternative approach to the pain that blights your life and particularly the bending down. We generally say things like I’m getting old and need to expect these things, I disagree and point out that the biggest component of these joint issues is inflammation which in turn is associated with poor diet and eating foods that cause internal inflammation. Please have a look at the carnivore diet, eating only animal products, predominantly ruminant meat such as beef. Treat it as an elimination diet and see how much you can reduce your pain. This comment is well meaning and comes from a 2 year carnivore who has experienced their own positive changes.

Pumping to nothing, find the lowest point on the footings and dig a small 6 inch hole next to them for the pump. You must get yourselves a hose kit for it👍

You will always hear, hard work won’t kill you, hmm but it doesn’t do you any bloody good

Why don't you form a sump with a bean tin when you pour the footings next time would be good to get all of the wster out then you could fill the sump hole before laying, just a thought.

Why are wet bricks a problem?

That wrapping they put on the brick does nothing at all a little hole in it the water gets in there then ur buggered they need to sort out some sorta different wrapping around the bricks I think

What is the latest on an operation for Steve's hip? It is ridiculous that he should have to continue to suffer so much pain and discomfort due to the inadequacies of the NHS, whilst he is trying to earn a living.

I always try to look on the positive in most things but the amount of talking that you do is getting too much man. Almost 20 minutes from the start of the video was you talking. How many times do you need to moan about the wet bricks.
