I'm 71 years old and have completed major renovations both in the UK and in France. My dad was a builder and his dad was a builder. They used the line method all those years ago, (except is was feet and inches of course) so it is so good to see such a "young" builder using tried and trusted methods and producing high quality work. Well done "Izzy".
If you've nothing positive to say then keep you derogatory and useless comments to yourself. The world would be a much better place without people with your attitude.
Hi Izzy, when you're cutting or creating any dust, please wear a mask. I thought I was invincible, but now suffering like hell. Recently been diagnosed with copd. My breathing is awful. Take care
I did an octagon shaped deck recovery like this. My neighbor called me and asked if I’d take a look. 6 inches out of level on the piers over 6 foot. Cant believe people have the brass the call themselves tradesmen and charge people for crap like this. I’m a carpenter and can lay brick and block better than this and I can’t lay bricks. Lol. Good for you Izzy. Put a smile back on the clients face.
I'm a retired Spark and I've worked alongside the other trades for over 40 years. Seriously mate, that was some quality work that you did. You turned a mess into a quality job. Well done.
Well done , here’s a tip for ya, fill ya frog holes up at end of day, if it pisses down you won’t lay on water filled holes. Mortar will spew everywhere, unless you sponge out every hole. Been bricklaying 50 yrs so have a rough idea. Good luck for the future.
My brother is a bricklayer for over 30 years experience and I must say these guys are my favourite there just like my brother was at their age trustworthy and genuine guy’s doing what they do best if you want a job doing do your research and check there work history a lot of my brothers work was always available to his clients to go and view that’s why a bricklayer is a skilled trade not a one off job well done guys keep up the good work 👍👍
I know absolutely nothing about bricklaying, but have been screwed over by cowboy work- this guy is refreshing. Awesome to see young blokes with such knowledge, skill and attentive attitude. Cracking stuff
Good work Izzy and co. As an Electrician myself i appreciate good tradesmen often we end up redoing work from scratch. I will say here on the South coast we've met a lot of bad builders along the way. nice to see someone who actually cares and does the basics so well.
More and more coming as big sites slow down, brick bashers who’ve only run down a line for 2 years since picking up a trowel, don’t have a clue how to “build”
I've been in construction for 30 years and as No.1 completed all manner of projects from huge to small. Nice to once again see proper brickwork done right, as it had mostly gone to 💩. Keep it up as fantastic to see. 👍
The skill and precision that's gone into that is just superb. Just doing these videos gives ordinary folks like me some insight to how it should be done so that we don't end up being ripped off.
A bricklayer with amazing skills for such a young age. He knows exactly what he's talking about and exactly how to do it. This young man has got a fantastic career ahead of him. I guarantee he is already much in demand. Top tradesman!
I love how precise you are when it comes to taking measurements of everything. It shows the quality and perfection you need to be very good and skilled in your profession. I salute you.. 👍🙏
as Mr Jimmy Walton said in the comments below you're going to have dampness tracking across the brickwork unless you continue the cavity through into the original brickwork
New to your channel Izzy love watching your videos and admire you admitting and showing when u make mistakes many wouldn’t I’m 60 now and still learning 😂
Respect mate taking on a job someone else made a cock up of and sorting it out hope the punter appreciates it!! too many chancers out there passing Themselves off as tradespeople. Keep banging out quality workmanship
Great job!! I've been working for the last few months as a Working supervisor. Luckily. All our heights are non structural for the external build. First main job doing this. Even though I would love to take on my own jobs. But the anxiety I get is close to crippling me! I get a good amount of my boss with positive feed back and in true terms if some thing goes wrong its ok but at nights! All I seam to hit is the what ifs. During work time its all ok but its the off time that really gets me. Even though I know everything is good. the worry if there is enough material on site to keep the guys working. I know it gets to a point but I really struggle with parts like that even when they know It might end!
Great content Izzy, you're a credit to the trade. Have you ever considered a scaffold system that incorporates a pulley? Lol, it hurts me thinking about you guys climbing that ladder! Anyways, keep on keeping on, quality work.
I’m not a bricklayer or even a tradesman but I could see that the previous was done by a total cowboy. Great to see though you and your colleague doing precision work to ensure a high quality build. Look forward to seeing future videos to see how you finish this off.
Great work. I smiled at the 'matching the old imperials'. Our builder built our house, first of two, then the factory broke down when he was just starting the second. Planning required 'the same bricks' so he got the next nearest which was a few mil shallower than the original. The finished building had all sorts of bodges to get round the height change.
The problem is that these rough as fuck cowboys always get paid & never get knocked. But blokes who try and do a pucker job often get fucked about for their money or clients think you're eBay & trying haggling you down. Personally I do not haggle at all these days, my price is my price if you want me to do the work because I was recommended the client should know he's getting a fair price for r quality of work already.
Pride in his work, nice to see. Young man with great skills. Im mid 50s with a fairly crap life now through poor health and admire the younger generation who get a proper career while they are fit and able.
Grew up surrounded by masons, plumbers, electricians, engineers.. never had to outsource anything in the family or even for friends. Helped out wherever I could but never actually went into the trades. Biggest regret of my life, especially regarding masonry. Turning 32 in 2 days and the older I get the bigger the regret becomes. Awesome seeing stuff like this, brings back soooo many memories. Subbed
Do yourself a favour Izzy, either use a wet saw or at very least a respirator when you cut blocks. Silica kills many a tradie. Great work and enjoy watching 👍🏻
I’m not often left with little to say about all things regarding brickwork but this video has changed that. First look all I could say was “holy shit”. That really was abysmal. By the end I was left saying “ that’s how it should look”. Well done yet again on another high quality example of how to go about doing a proper job. A pleasure to watch as always 💪🏻
I'm a joiner of 26 years, and I take my hard hat off to good brickies. Believe me folks that a good brickie makes my life easier. Putting a roof on/setting wall plates with walls, not level or off square, is an absolute nightmare. We'll done guys! You do tradesmen justice!
First-time viewer here. Excellent work, I needed you 25 years ago when we were having a nightmare extension build, the footings here at the beginning of the video to very familiar. Thank you
You just have to watch this lad , he is a true craftsman , dedicated to his job , any customer having work done by him can rest assured it will be top notch , we just need more like him , person who started this job were never builders , and should be named and shamed to stop them leaving customers with a mess like this , and probably an expensive one at that
@@IzzytheBricky As a tradesman myself , fitting double glazing for the last 43 years , i spend a portion of my time fixing other companies mess , i get great satisfaction doing it , we are what we are , its against our principals , to leave a bad job , thats why , like yourself , your phone will always ring , once you get yourself a good name , even if your slightly more expensive , work always comes , my theory is , if you dont have enough money in the job to do it properly , stay at home , you and the customer will both be losers , top man , keep keep it going
Good job guys! They say the foundations are the most important part of any work! And that includes building work. I try to do as much of my own work as possible, just in case I end up with a cowboy.
My next door neighbours lad did me a favour by helping me out at short notice...his blockwork and tying and fixing to existing wall was brilliant...he even pointed the blocks both sides kniwing that it was going to be rendered....great to know people!
Cracking bit of workmanship Buddy. Rock solid honest consensus young fella who obviously takes great pride in his work. Top Man, puts a lot of others to shame. Good luck in your life keep up your superb work ethics. Cheers mate 👍 Les.
