The mini drop swirl was a Soap Challenge from back in 2018. It requires a mini drop with multiple colors on top of a solid base. The color palette I used was inspired by lemon & lime, the fragrance oil used was Ginger & Lime from Nurture Soap. The most critical piece of this design process is to use a fragrance oil and soap recipe that allows for a long light trace. Trace is key as you don't what the batter too fluid nor too think as each of the drop layers needs to rest on each other. By using the tip extension on the squeeze bottles it allows you do gently layer the batter deep into the mold as well as slightly beneath the base batter surface to create tear drops.
As with every new design, there are few things I would do differently. One is to reduce the amount of colored battered that used. Next time I would plan on 10% of the soap batter for each color, and not top off the surface with the base batter - just stick with the drop colors - it makes for a more coherent and clean design. And lastly I would add more drop swirl/batter beneath the surface and in different directions for a more distinct design and pattern.
