According to the late Dr.Maxwell Maltz, our ability to think positively is strictly connected to our self image. How we see ourselves determines our ability to take risks, interact with others and step out of our comfort zone. So many decisions in our life are based on how we see ourselves. The relationship you have with yourself is one if not the most important relationship you will ever have. When we feel the need to be part of the tribe, we are gonna naturally gravitate towards what is familiar.

A novel quality of this I found interesting is that in effect are identity (at least how we present it) is designed more towards those we have never met rather than towards friends and family. Idk what the implications of that are but I thought it was interesting

I'm using this on my master's thesis on stereotypes and their meaning for identity and belonging. I'm doing social- and cultural anthropology and this is somewhat a bit of a different approach in my field, because we do hardly use theories classified as "psychological theories"

I think people confuse identity with reality you are born one with an identity and changing it physically and chemically doesnt change what u are born as just disguises it to the world. Teaching impressionable kids to change gender because of a feeling before there brain is fully developed to understand the health and psycological risks is morally wrong. Kids change there minds on a daily basis. How about teaching kids its ok for boys to have feminime qualities not give them drugs. If a 10 year old tells a parent they think they feel there a good driver but never drove before would you believe them and give them the keys

What are you even talking about? What you're referring to doesn't pertain to the subject of this video. Also, no one (that I know of) is teaching their kids to change themselves the way you're mentioning. I hear folks such as yourself saying this comment (or something similar) and it demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of the folks who experience that disconnect b/mind and body. I can't believe you brought this up here.

@@danielnosuke really? I'll have to rewatch it again. But anyways, are parents really insisting that a kid transition just for the slightest provocation?! Well, no one really knows what's happening and each situation is different. I'm also sure that not every girl/woman who feels like a tomboy actually wants to transition; not every boy/guy who exhibits effeminate qualities actually wants to transition. Folks who think that's what it is have a misconception of it.

So you repeat a lot of things over and over. Normally this would be influential to someone with little to no context beyond your expression, however a magician should never use the same trick more than once. The reason why most people are against immigrants that I know is because very wealthy corporations are trying to devalue labor to next more profit. I don't dislike the immigrants and it's nothing person, however you're creating the ideas yourself as to who is in what group when you say this. In reality, the issues with immigration are above your pay grade. You're using it as a misnomer to give your point to others, though I get what you're saying. Try a better analogy.

I agree just because someone identifies as something doesnt make it true people confuse how there feeling with the truth. If a man identifies as a woman and uses drugs or surgery to transition doesnt nake them a women it just makes them feel that way but biologically there still a man. If i identify as batman and buy a costume and wear it everyday all it does is change my appearance but the reality is im not i just am not happy with who i am. Thats a pysological thing or mental health thing not a biological thing. Its ok to have feminime qualities and be a man. It doesnt mean you chanhe everything you just find a way to get past it or come to terms with biologically reality like therapy or whatever

As long as they're not serial killers, child molesters, rapists, con artists, bank robbers (things of that nature), I don't see why anyone needs to worry about this. To each their own.
