When I was 14-15 , My parents refused to buy a phone for me. Almost all of my friends had a smartphone with them at that time and I really used to hate my parents for it. 9 years later, I can see why they didn't let me have a smartphone. All those friends are now addicted to social media and are struggling to do even minor tasks at work/home without looking up at their phone. I am not a productivity machine. I do procrastinate at times but my condition is not as severe as their's.
Same thing happened to me.... My parents were not planning on buying me a smart phone unless I atleast passed 12th standard..... But due to covid, everything became online including studies so they had no other options.... And now I can see that they were right...
You are absolutely right Harsh Bhai, Being India's No.1 Snapchat Informational RU-vidr, I can say that Snapchat is the most addictive platform than any other social media platforms, People are giving not only 15 rupees for streak recovery but also 50 rupees or more according to their streak number. Just to maintain number game 🙂
Wtf... Bhai mei ye sab karr raha hu. Instagram screen time 4hrs, Watching YT videos on 1.75x and not being able to watch a 2 hour movie in 1 Go. I seriously need to think about it. Thanks Harsh bhai
One more point: Social media diverts the focus from real life's problems... meaning it tries to ignore them... Edit: Dam' You guys loved my point, now at least I can pay my rent
A month ago my screentime was booming at 10-11 hours daily but then with discipline I tried dopamine detox which helped a lot reducing my screentime to 1 hour.
@@rajdeeplawale4002 Positive ho jati hai life, social media se jyada tum real life enjoy karoge, sabse best hai ki internet ki toxicity se bhi piche chutega tumhara. Try karo aap bhi social media detox
Big W of harsh bhaiya bringing topics no one covered and bringing irony of social media and its affect on mental health 👍. according to me social media's fake like positivity destroy's the youth the most
03:23 yess you are right I first use to watch RU-vid videos on 2x but now its becomes a habit, instead I am more comfortable to watch videos in 2x even though I now started watching college subject related videos on 2x because of this lack of concentration.........
Le me - who doesn't use Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook and only use RU-vid and watch anime and go to the gym in the morning and sleep 8 hours a day😂
I have a list what people can do instead of scrolling social media 1. Read a book 2. Do Excercise or yoga 3. Daily plan one task and complete it. 4. Stay away from social media freaks. 5. If u want to use it just limit your time. Believe me guyss, I haven't used Instagram for more than 3-4 months now and I don't get bored , just give time to your hobbies ❤
I am a school student in class 10th and I stop everything but I didn't quit youtube 😓😓 Please help me anyone....... While I go to school my screen time is 5:30 hrs (approx) but this time in vacation my screen time is 8-9 hrs per day 😢😢
However, when you're deeply addicted to these apps and decide to deactivate them, your mind becomes increasingly restless, wondering about the updates you might be missing out on. 😢
Abe chapri chal na kyu copy kar rha h har ek chiz Dhruv rathee ki 😂😂😂 Tu kiski team se khel ra b ek taraf usko roast kar ra h or dusri taraf Usi ki video copy karke bana ra h. Sudharja bete
Im 16 year old all the points covered by you is 💯 true im facing this issues espicially in studies which i badly got affected im not able to focus on studies even in class and stress anxiety depression is just like normal things before this i always get above 90% but bcs of this im not even able to get 70% anyone here who is facing these issues😢😭
Same brother , Although i had never used any social media in my life for even once (as i recently got my phone) , i decided to use telegram , i have only been using it for like 3-4 months but iwas able to see the changes so today i decided to leave that platform too. It was hard , but now i am proud of myself that i deleted that and also because i have never use insta or snap.
I used to be very happy before pandemic arrived in 2020 the after I got addicted to games social media too much from 2 years I was in a deepest hole of confusion that why am I getting confused suicidal thoughts anxiety but now I am returning normal thanks for this video it was eye opening you are saving lives ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Harsh is a perfect example of never judge a book by its cover and you can do anything even when if you were poor in academics ❤ Btw thanks harsh for pointing out this issue .. Since one year I am following your vlog channel .I can see the improvement and sincereness in you
Wtf is happening to people like literally sb comment me 11to15 hours bta rhe h?☠☠ aur yaha mera screen time sirf 3ghnte ka but still aisa lgta hai ye 3 ghnte bhi kyu waste kiye ☠☠
I agree man, even I feel like my attention span is decreasing and trust me, I've observed that this 1 minute content depletes your memory and you'll get worse day by day. (I don't use Snapchat tho I do have father)
Disable notifications permissions in the settings so you won't see notifications more often. we open social media apps mostly from notifications. I don't know if it is possible in IOS but in android you can do it for all the apps.
I use only RU-vid No Instagram No Facebook No whatsapp No Snapchat Nd I don't even know the name of other apps 😅 Social media ke name pe RU-vid use karti hun bas
This is so true. I uninstalled Instagram a month ago because there was so much negative content. People body shame others and pass homophobic comments and call it funny. People harrash others disrespect others and think it's funny. There is so much negativity on social media specially on Instagram and Twitter.
@@hawk-zr5vq If you want to decrease your screen time busy yourself in things. Help your mother in her house chores , try to engage with actual people especially your close friends, play outdoors games and devote your some time to god believe me it will really help (i did two replies. Are both replies visible to you ? m not able to see one of them)
@@nishyankk I have scored 90% in 12th boards only from RU-vid 🥲, I was trying to state that if don't you know the boundaries when to stop, it'll get you f*cked
I use Facebook earlier But I never made account on insta.... I have Facebook account , but now I have stopped it.... Now I only use WhatsApp and RU-vid.....😊😊
For those who wants to quit social media, it's not a habit, it's an addiction. The easiest way is to just delete the app and forget it , you have to kill the FOMO(fear of missing out) , once you realise you are missing nothing is life , you can quit social media ( Many people will ask what about our online friends who we text and just can't abandon them, just switch to an app which only allows texting and has no short duration content . Prime example of such an app would be discord)
I am not agree with your point that you said you cann't escape from social media......when i decided i have to quit the social media after that time i quit that and it's being a long time like a month.....i uninstall facebook, instagram, youtube, playstore, of course you are not believing youtube and playstore but it is possible to uninstall through adb application....Hey bro i am watching it through computer because i was fully tired so.....
My parents gave me smartphone when I was 13 and hooked for years I spend more than 8 hours everyday after that I stopped going out , stop playing outside I stopped talking to my friends ,I stopped talking to girls . I was this too much hooked to phone I prefer to be alone I made my mind not going to family occasions not going to functions . I made my brain this much affected that I created my own perception of being alone don’t want anybody I’m my life it completely affected my decision making, natural instinct, health, relationships , communication skills my brain was fogged for many years I always I’m 23 now still this day I struggle a lot to face many things in real life
Great research.. Thank you so much for making me feel that how much time I have wasted on worthless things. I have always ignored the things which may cause addiction problem to me, then why this social media. Great help harsh. Thank you.
Ironic how every RU-vidr who talks about social media addiction never includes youtube , whereas youtube is the most addictive and time consuming platform
True in a way, but not so devastating because youtube has been serving as a teacher, as a mother and as a Guru. You must confess that most of the difficult things to know and learn are readily available on RU-vid On no other social media this feature is that easy to search and 7se.
9:47 6 mahina pahle Instagram uninstall kr diya😂 aur chrome se use krne lga... RU-vid ko hide kr ke secure folder me daal Diya... I have 6.4k subscribers on telegram but I don't give a shit
I fell sick the next day my 3rd year final exams had ended. During this time, I used to watch reels and RU-vid videos to get over with monotony. But after I recovered, this has resulted in laziness; I'm spending hours on reels and remain unproductive almost this month. My habits like reading book, diary entry have badly affected due to this. After watching this video, I've decided to take steps to get back to my earlier disciplined life.
Truly Speaking I Can Relate To The Intro Of Harsh In This Video...I Was Giving An Exam And Continuously GADDARI KARBE And JALDI WAHA SE HATO Was Coming To My Mind😂
I get to know about this before 12-13 months i use about 8-9 hrs.But know i only use about 4-5 hrs where social media is 2.5-3 hrs rest was for important work. Love your work❤
Totally relatable topic 👍 I was able to control my mobile use few weeks back but after exam when I'm free my screen time has gone to 6 hrs 😞 daily. . This is damn problematic as I'M UNABLE TO KEEP PHONE SIDE , I KEEP SCROLLING EVEN I DON'T WANT TOO😢 0:01% BHI ACHHA NHI LAGTA
I can agree most of the point. At the age of 18 I know I am addicted to social media too I can disagree with some of the points that didn't happened to me but self doubt and focus is the main impact of social media
