It’s away for employers to get around equal opportunity laws. It should be illegal for them to do this.

Why I don't use social media is my own personal business, not an employer's. If an employer is suspicious because I don't use social media, then I wouldn't want to work for someone like that, because they obviously jump to all the wrong conclusions. Social media has nothing to do with being authentically social. Most users are abhorrently desperate for attention because a lot of people make a living on their posts. What's to stop an employer from hiring an underqualified candidate because they have 20k followers versus a qualified candidate because they only have 200 followers? Is the job market just a popularity competition?

This is awful. Many people don't want social media for this reason. Why do you have to be on social media to be social. Some of us actually do face to face and just don't have time to be posting our daily lives, actual phone calls, face time...There are other ways to be social than blasting it on line.

it's all about who knows YOU. the right person has to tap you in order for you to shortcut and rise through the ranks.

i do have social media, but never post anything!! Fuck so I would never get hired. What I'm going to post! i don't like it.
