@@mariannabarbowski121 yes mine was issued the same way. It put me back on top where I was before and some before the 3 year waiting period for SSdi. Congratulations on your approval! Waiting for back pay can be a test of patience, but rest assured, it's a normal part of the process. Back pay is typically paid in a lump sum 60 days after approval. However, the exact timing can vary depending on various factors, including the specifics of your case and the workload of your local Social Security office. I applied in Oct of 2019. Was approved September of 2023 by the Administrative Law Judge at the hearing. May of 2024, still waiting on the back pay. In November of 23 we received a small chunk paying our lawyer, and a bit more. I just went in person a few days ago, they asked a few questions and said my money is now on the way. It was odd, it was like they were waiting for me to come in in person, with no communication of needing to do that.

@@edwinrodeo no when you are approved for SSdi on paper your backpay should be coming less than a week. They give you half in your account and send the rest in the mail. The 5 month thing is the first 5 months is a waiting period they don't count towards your backpay. Everybody who gets approved for SSdi has to suffer this 5 month rule. If you have received any documents in the mail stating you are approved your money should be coming less than a week. If not something is wrong or someone is lying to you.

I was told not to call SSI Disability office by my Lawyer. The judge on my case was removed from my case by the court and a other judge signed off my case. @TheDisabilityDigest Месяц назад
It sounds like you've been through quite a journey with your Social Security Disability case. It's not uncommon for the process to take some time, and changes in judges can sometimes occur. The final exit interview is typically a routine procedure where the Social Security Administration (SSA) will go over the details of your benefits, answer any questions you may have, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed. As for setting up your bank account for direct deposit of your benefits, this is a common practice and can make it easier for you to receive your payments. If you're not a member yet, you can join us here: bit.ly/48wwOqV. Looking forward to help with cases like these.

I truly understand how challenging this waiting period can be, and I empathize with your situation. The 66% you're seeing is an estimate of how far along you are in the process, not a reflection of your approval chances. Each case is unique and the time it takes can vary. It's important to stay patient and positive during this time. Seeing a doctor assigned by the Social Security Administration is a common part of the process, and it helps them gather the information they need to make a decision. I understand your concern and confusion regarding the letters you've received. It's important to get this clarified. The best course of action is to directly contact your local Social Security office or your attorney. They can help you understand the details of your case and guide you on the next steps. If you're having trouble reaching them by phone, you might want to try contacting them via the online portal or by mail. For more information on back pay, you can watch this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LoFDqUQNbVE.html. I didn’t receive a CDR either, don’t worry it’s not a bad thing, I was told they pushed me in a 7 year redetermination box , which means I’m basically untouchable ( according to the regional manager) I’m 63+ At 60 I wouldn’t worry about nothing. At that age most of the time they don’t bother , the disability would have to be very limited to get reviewed. Honestly don’t worry. I wish you the best 🙏

@TheDisabilityDigest
@TheDisabilityDigest Месяц назад
It can really take longer than expected.. I understand this frustration. Backpay for SSDI and SSI are handled differently. SSDI backpay is typically paid as a lump sum covering the time from the approval of your disability application up to your first monthly SSDI payment. SSI backpay, on the other hand, is usually paid in installments. If you haven't received your backpay yet, it would be a good idea to contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) directly to inquire about the status of your backpay. We have a video that explains more about backpay. You can watch it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LoFDqUQNbVE.html. Hope this sheds more light on it.

According to SSA's rules, it can be easier for people over the age of 50 to get approved for disability benefits. This is because the SSA recognizes that older individuals may have a harder time learning new skills or transitioning to different types of work. However, being over 50 doesn't guarantee approval. The SSA still requires proof that your condition prevents you from doing any gainful activity, not just your previous work. For more information on how age affects Social Security Disability claims, you can watch this video: ru-vid.comUInmtXb9GbY.

Setting up your bank account for Social Security payments is a straightforward process. You don't need to wait for the ALJ decision to get started. You can contact your bank to set up a direct deposit account if you don’t already have one. Once you have your bank account details, you can call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 to provide your account information. What does partial disability means
@TheDisabilityDigest
@TheDisabilityDigest 11 дней назад
Hi! Partial disability refers to a condition where a person is unable to perform some, but not all, of their work-related duties due to an injury or illness. Unlike total disability, which prevents someone from working entirely, partial disability indicates that the individual still has the capacity to work in some capacity, though perhaps not in the same role or at the same level of functionality they previously had. Benefits or compensation for partial disability depend on the degree of impairment and the impact it has on the person's ability to earn a living. This can vary depending on insurance policies, worker’s compensation rules, or specific disability benefits programs.

I heard you say you can work if you know the rules. When I retired om Social Security/Disability the Social Security office told me I could not work. I have since learned that once full retirement age has been reached that benefits change to just social security and at that time I would be able to work if I choose to. I live in CA. Is this info correct?
@TheDisabilityDigest
@TheDisabilityDigest Месяц назад
Yes, Cindy, your understanding is correct. When you reach your full retirement age, your Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits automatically convert to retirement benefits, but the amount remains the same. At that point, the earnings limit that applies to SSDI beneficiaries no longer applies to you, and you can work without affecting your Social Security benefits. However, it's important to note that while you're receiving SSDI benefits (before reaching full retirement age), there are limits to how much you can earn from work. In 2024, you can earn up to $1,550 per month without affecting your eligibility for SSDI benefits. We have a video that explains more about working while receiving Social Security benefits. You can watch it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lfuF8tYSrhY.html. Hope this helps!

@TheDisabilityDigest
@TheDisabilityDigest 3 месяца назад
Congratulations on your SSI approval! It's great to hear that you've received your back pay and first monthly check. Regarding the award letter, it typically takes a few weeks to arrive after your approval, but there can be delays. Given that your approval was on April 4, 2024, and it's now mid-June, it's understandable that you're concerned. Here are a few steps you can take: 1. Contact the SSA: The Social Security Administration (SSA) can provide you with the status of your award letter. You can call their toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213 or visit your local SSA office. 2. Check Your Mail Regularly: Sometimes, mail can be delayed or misplaced. Ensure you're checking all potential locations where it could be delivered. 3. Verify Your Address: Make sure the SSA has your correct and updated mailing address to avoid any delivery issues. It's important to follow up as the award letter contains vital information about your benefits. If you continue to experience delays, reaching out to the SSA directly is your best course of action.
