I am towards the end of The application process. 2 days ago, July 1st 2024, I had a large deposit go into my bank account from SSA Treasury, I did not receive a notice of award before this transaction happened. Is this common

Thank goodness! It was such a waste of time and money and employee resources. Let’s pray it will help those not already approved get a much faster decision than I had to wait for back from 2011 -2014. Of course they wanted to keep turning me down because I have a college degree, I was an Executive in the Mortgage field (but the doctor said I would be able to work for Goldman Sachs…..sorry that isn’t Mortgage Banking that is Investment Banking and for some employees they are traders in the pits.) Also the doctor thought the company would hire me an assistant to type everything for me since I can no longer type due to my rheumatoid arthritis. Not to mention I can’t sit or stand for a long period of time. I finally found a fantastic attorney that specialized in SSA cases and we went before the SSA JUDGE. The case was so clear and cut that the employment expert had no questions. So never give up folks. It’s like some of the insurance businesses, 90% of the original claims are usually denied. Stay strong!
I'm scared now. I was awarded ssdi dec 2012 due to a hypoxic-iscemic brain injury which resulted in Parkinsonism and dystonia. In 2017, i had a nervous breakdown after being diagnosed with a corneal disease and having had an SA. I have missed a lot of my mail. When l retired they keyed in my retirement as over 9,000.00 a month. This made my SS payments less than $400 a month. I tried telling them l should get more only for them to push back. They said it was because a law that Reagan put in place years ago. This was two years ago. Come to find out they keyed my retirement amount wrong. I didn't find out until a month ago when l was applying for disability. 😢 The lady said she was going to send it to be fixed, called again...she can't give me a name of who's fixing it. It's been a month now. This has been a nightmare, l am in so much det, and stress out. Any advice
Not many people with the skill-sets required by SSA , don’t have family or loved ones being screwed by them!! No one wants to work for an organization they now see killing people and allowing suffering that is t necessary in a 1st world country. The greed will start to be pushed back on if people ( majority) are pushed in to a corner… like if Trump some how gets in office and then screws the country and offends everyone he adored airing him …. Then he’s already set revolution in their minds. Maybe someone should assist in re-directing that anger toward action by non-action Disability STRIKE !!!!!!!!! Where do we start forming. Allllll the people seen on the streets that are advocating the disabled in numbers that solves the straw man and fallacy arguments on either side of the isle. From Michigan. 11 months to be approved on initial application. It took 3 months from when ths DDS declared me medically disabled till i got my award letter.
This fear is B.S.! I just got awarded disability after 1 year. There are millions of people that apply for disability every year. One reason it takes so long to get disability is because there are not enough people working in the S.S.A. to handle the workload. But, you think they can hire millions of "agents" to go out and spy on people? Use some common sense.
My husband got his 1st social security check after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. They promptly took it back out of the bank when he died. You would think they could have let me keep that one check after totally supporting him and keeping up his medical insurance for over a year.
What can I do if my adult son receives SSI, but just not the full amount because I guess I mentioned we provide too much for him. How can I fill out the form to receive the full amount because we provide "everything" for him.

Well the department of SS contacted me and denied my wife disability or social security insurance benefits be because we had over 2,000 dollars in the bank? she suffered a second stroke on 12/17/2021 and it damaged her right side where she cannot use her arm and can't walk without using a walker, I have to make the food, feed her, she's not going to be able to drive again, I bathe her and basically help her with everyday necessities, yet she still doesn't qualify for any assistance from the government, how is that possible? but those are the rules I was told on the phone, if you're on the streets with no money then we can help, why does it have to go to that extreme? lose all of our savings just to get help? oh by the way she also has Lupus! can anyone please explain what I can do?

Not this particular episode because I have my drinking under control because it doesn’t pay enough to drink to excess. Which brings up a question. Are there any countries where the disability benefits include beer besides Australia?
