Anna!!! Yay! I just graduated with my Masters last year. We deff need more social workers here on RU-vid and I am so happy you're sharing your journey! Your internship sounds like you'll get a lot of experience tbh. Day by day lol
Hey Anna, I just found your channel! I am on my SW journey as well :) and I am so excited to have found your channel. Love your energy you def seem passionate about going into the field and your internship sounds super interesting! :) All the best!
Loving your videos!! Keep them coming ☺️ I want to make a social work RU-vid channel but i feel like my life is boring lol I start my first placement this week !
if you want to, try!! your life might feel boring to you just bc youre used to your days/habits/routines but your days will 100% be different from those of people who watch :) I thought about starting for a loooong time before I did and now wish I had videos to capture earlier times in my life 🙈 like more of my BSW field placement & more of college, etc. also best of luck at your field placement!! yay social workers!!
Your channel is growing!!! So so excited for you🥰❤️ here catching up, I’m going to check out that book because that sounds crazy and super interesting!! I’m trying to get back into the swing of things too.
it's been such an interesting book!!! I think I've finally gotten a bit more in routine but wow it's tough in the new year. thanks for supporting as always, Shy!!
Happy second semester! I haven't been keeping up with my subscriptions as much these days, but I had to click on your new video! Have you thought about doing an updated social work q&a? I'd love to hear about your thoughts for job searching post grad, populations you want to work with, how your managing imposter syndrome, takeaways from your program etc.
ahh i always get so excited from your comments. you're too sweet to me 🥰🥰 also yes that is a great idea. I've been getting lots of questions lately so need to do a vid
I just had my internship/practicum this past fall and we had our biweekly field seminar also on wednesday's lol! i'm guessing that must be the norm in most msw programs!
Does your MSW program have you choose a concentration? I was recently accepted to an MSW program that doesn’t have concentrations, but my ultimate goal is to be a mental health social worker and do therapy!
We don't have official concentrations but we can choose our electives to concentrate in one area so most of my classes are individuals & families. congrats on your acceptance!!! you've got it :)
do you have any tips on managing all the readings assigned to us MSW students? Between my four courses, Im assigned like 5 00 pages of reading a week... it doesnt even seem possible to do.
that is so much reading!! honestly, I mostly skim the articles and chapters unless it is something that I think will be directly applicable for me in practice. and that's just kind of up to personal discretion of what you find interesting based on where and with whom you hope to work. usually, I'll read headers and conclusions and then if I need more information for a paper or assignment, I'll then go back and read more in depth for the info/concepts I actually need.
