I wish if it was just that. It's the whole idea of "Empowerment". Let them eat all they like. Just don't deny facts and change logical laws. I was very fat when I was a teen, like 115kg fat at 15 years old. I took a whole year out in my early 20's to eat very healthy, have positive influence around me and work out. I have been a steady 75kg for the passed 10 years and I would never change it for anything in the world.

@@juliecobbina2024 some people can legit take an entire second seat and leave someone with even less space. And if two large people sit next to each other they won’t fit in the seats. It will just cause issues. Like touching, no one wants to be touching strangers. Taking up someone else’s seat makes it so someone can be seated and usually one of them will be upgraded or someone will be removed from the flight.
It’s “all good” regardless because if it’s that much of an issue you can ask to be moved. Her being considerate and paying for the second seat is not for you to develop some entitlement for you yo be tolerant of her existence
@@roennyh1362 no it isnt. When you have to move (which many times is not even an option), or be squished because of someone else’s poor life choices then it is annoying and rude. If she pays for the other seat she is taking up with her lard, then she is not being an inconvenience to others, so it is “all good”.

Once this huge guy sat in the aisle next to my husband. He was partially in my husband’s seat. My husband leaned partially into my seat. During the flight, my husband fell asleep. I wasn’t paying attention because I was watching a movie. Suddenly I hear my husband start snoring. I immediately look at him, getting ready to share him to stop him from snoring. When I looked at him, I noticed the big guy trying to squeeze himself into his chair. My husband was totally leaning on him. I felt pretty bad for the guy. He looked so uncomfortable. I shake my husband and wake him up. My husband gets up, wipes his mouth and says, “ I drooled on him.” I hid under my jacket and cracked up laughing.

The things is it’s fine to be worried about our health but I have a medical condition that makes it very easy to gain weight and very hard to lose it. So I have been mocked for my size for my entire life (I am not morbidly obese or anything) the way people would treat me less than human made me want to die. I was put into therapy in 4th grade because the constant harassment made me extremely depressed. The harassment almost killed me. So I understand where you are coming from but we know we are fat the constant reminders from everyone around us really hurts. So please do not go around telling people this. You are not our doctors. (I’m sorry if this is coming off as rude I’m just trying to educate ❤)

People often don't know how to say, "you're killing yourself" in a nice way. It's not that they can't stand to see you happy, it's that they have forward thinking capabilities.

I totally agree with you buying two seats. That is very courteous of you. I’ve had to endure flights next to obese people who only had one seat next to me. It’s not fun.
I once had a morbidly obese person next to me and didn't buy another seat. I simply moved to an open seat. I refused to sit next to them. They took up half of my seat. When someone said I was far shaming, I said "then switch me seats.". He didn't of course.
When I was a kid, I could still somewhat squeeze next to a large person in public transportation when it got cramped. And they'd always look at me like I was a ghost.

I hate the fact that people say it’s ok to be fat and that it’s healthy to be fat because I’m just going to say it it’s not ok to be fat. I weighed 289 at 15 and it was not muscle it was fat and I didn’t use the fact I’m fat to get people to change the size of hallways to fit my size. I get the fact that we have to be more inclusive of different people but we should not condone unhealthy behaviors. If you tried you could lose weight and maybe you would take up only one seat.

It's not healthy to be fat that is correct. But who are you to judge if it's ok to be fat? Is it ok to be an alcoholic? A smoker? A drug addict? We all have our issues. Being judgemental doesn't help or change anything in the least.
I was once 300 pounds. I’m now 160. It wasn’t easy but totally worth it. I’m glad you’re happy. But it is much easier on your body when you slim down a little.

Nah fr people make no sense. People get mad when overweight folk only get one seat and spill over on the other person but when they get two for their own comfort and in as a courtesy to the other person they get ridiculed. You can never win.

Imagine paying a good chunk of change for a plane ticket (because we all know they’ve gotten more and more expensive) and having to quite literally share it with the body of another human. You paid for that seat it’s yours for the duration of the flight so you have every right to be annoyed if someone is in it.
