@@jonelvis7663 it's a truly progressive record, pushes boundaries all the way through, you can just hear all the work that's gone onto it. I'm 5 days in and I can't switch it off!
This album and the one before it are less proggy. The first two records especially are very Tool and Opeth influenced. Great band and I enjoy all their albums, though some members of the metal community don't seem to like this more straight ahead approach they do now. Their loss I say!
Very creative with innovative changes. Love the switches throughout which, IMO, keep it interesting because you don't know what to expect next. Will definitely be checking them out. Thanks Leigh for sharing this one with us.
Glad you liked it! Drummer Martin Lopez used to be in Opeth and played on the masterpiece that is Blackwater Park ❤. Early Soen stuff is a bit more prog. Love them.
I love Soen, but I agree. This is not prog at all. I think that because Martin Lopez is the old drummer of Opeth people expect poly/syncops/etc. But it´s a brilliant song nonetheles.
