You can hear Joe’s Pittsburgh accent come through when he’s talking about how Primanti’s makes the sandwiches. I love it. I may be biased but Primanti’s sandwiches are so good, I strongly recommend them to everyone who comes into town.

Pittsburgh is one of my favorite cities. It has the right combination of city life, affordability, and full of some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. And if you want to get away from it all, hiking and outdoors is less than 30 minutes away. But, I never did have the sandwich - my doctor would send a hit man after me.

As someone who is learning English I'm curious as to why some people find the word "exotic" offensive. Does it have negative connotations for Americans? I thought it only meant foreign, rare and new which non are bad words.

In the past you only called somebody "exotic" if they where slaves or prostitutes from another country. Now some people use that word with a positive connotation, but others still use it like some kind of low key insult. My English teachers told me that you can only use the word exotic speaking about things but not about people, it's kind of disrespectful.

It's all about making a distinction about what is different. Basically in American when you say exotic you're saying white people are the "center" or the "normal". Anything that deviates from that is not. I'm Latin. Sofia Vergara isn't exotic to me. It's all about perspective. The U.S. doesn't have an official language, not does it have an official "culture". I live here in this country. I was born here. I'm American. I'm not white, but white people don't seem "exotic" to me, just like people in my family don't either. When you refer to people as exotic you're kind of romanticizing that group of people and encapsulating their culture in a stereotype instead of looking at them as just people from a different place. Also, people don't use that word when something different is unattractive. Sofia Vergara is Colombian. They use that word to describe her because she's beautiful. They don't use that word to describe an ugly person from the same place.

I like how Joe Manganiello is So handsome, So Successful & Ambitious but yet he's still humble enough, maybe the word is Down-to-Earth, he's a people's person, I guess, because he interacts pretty well with the general public and he doesn't put himself on a Pedestal and that's Cool.
