It was actually only published by Dempa -- it was developed by YMCAT, who's still around on Twitter to this day, and is actually working on (or may have already released?) Sofia 2 for the Switch as an eShop digital download -- along with a sequel to another game he released on the MSX back in the day, The Demon's Crystal (which is sadly not as good a game, at least on MSX). Also, protip for this game: after starting, immediately go left instead of right. Jump around to create a platform, then jump again to reveal a bag of appleseeds. Then leave the screen, but IMMEDIATELY go back again, and jump in the same spots again. This time, the spot that revealed a bag of appleseeds before will now create another platform, allowing you to climb over the giant hill and snag a continue bottle! Basically, an extra life. They're really rare, and all of them are hidden, but this one can be gotten within your first minute of play, and is invaluable for exploring the game world.
