*Ingredients:*
- 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil (optional)
- Water (as needed)
*Instructions:*
1. *Mix the Dough:*
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
- Gradually add water while mixing, until the dough starts to come together.
- Add oil for a softer texture, if desired.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.
2. *Rolling the Chapathis:*
- After resting, divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
- Lightly flour a rolling surface and take one dough ball.
- Roll it into a flat, round shape (about 6-7 inches in diameter), making sure it's evenly thin.
3. *Cooking the Chapathis:*
- Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium-high heat.
- Place the rolled chapathi on the hot tawa.
- Cook for about 30 seconds until small bubbles start to form, then flip it.
- Cook the other side for another 30 seconds, pressing gently with a cloth or spatula to encourage puffing.
- Flip again and cook until both sides have golden brown spots.
4. **Serving:
