I thought we'd more or less seen it all for the panel form of LEDs...but these are panels I would genuinely bring back into my kit.

This is great, I love the compact-ness of my rollable led panels but tbh I set them up once and never rolled them back up again and now they just live permanently on light stands lmao. This would be a perfect permanent upgrade from that. :)

Haha totally agree with you on that - my flex panels are never flexed lol they're flat 99% of the time. Just updated the links as well! Took B&H a while to get them listed - can't seem to find them on amazon tho

Excellent overview. Thank you for taking the time to put this review together. Much appreciated. I’m glad I dragged my feet on panel lights for my kit. These make WAY more sense for solo production work than anything else out there. And I’m pleasantly surprised they designed the power supplies without a fan. For instance I love my Nanlite 60C cobs, they got me out of a jam just yesterday, but only because we were working in a noisy location and the fan noise couldn’t be heard. These on the other hand could be deployed as quickly and would work beautifully even on the quietest of sets. Thanks again for the heads up.

Yep, 2 of these going in the kit next year. I like my Amaran P60x/c panel lights but the omission of a center mounting point so they can be flown straight down is a GLARING omission. This is fantastic.

crazy to read this comment because my pops just bought me the Nanlite PavoSlim 60C from Samy’s Camera here in LA never heard of them until now im still getting use to the light but so far its a 10 outta 10 super bright too you don’t even gotta go 100% for the dim im excited to use it definitely plan on buying the 120C I’ve always been team Aperture and Quasar or Neewer but Nanlite are something new to learn I plan on making a video about it soon

Got recommended this video.... And from start to finish, what a well put together video. Thanks for focusing on the user experience, rather than just reading stats 😊 thanks Well structured and nice lighting too.

This is an excellent review and sales pitch. Thank you for taking the time to go so thoroughly over all of the features to show us what you like and don't like about them. I'm interested to see them in person now that they're officially out.

Great review! The light I received (60B) comes with a traditional softbox, not the collapsible one.

These look quite good... And not too expensive if you ask me. I guess they are trying to compete with Aputure's flex panel Amaran's. I will have to decide between the 2 bc the flex panels are convenient as well for travel. I was a nana lite ambassador but they have not sent me anything in the last couple of years unfortunately..

And one more thing. These lights can be fixed with another one. Like 2 PavoSlim 120C can be fixed together in to a 2X2 panel light using the official connecting accessory.
@shadowshapers

Top to bottom or side by side? I'd like to see that configuration and how it gets connected together.

Fantastic! Thanks for such a thorough review. This looks like a great quick solution for corporate pieces to camera. Currently I’m using an Aperture 60x with soft box, but a tempted to at least try this out!

why are you comparing it to a skypanel? these are way more directly comparable to litemats, yet you didn't mention them once. this form factor hasn't been around for almost a decade with litemats lol anyways, I'm excited to get my hands on these to test. so nice that nanlite is finally including crmx in more of their fixtures.

These look perfect. Fixes everything I don't like about my Amaran F12C. The controller looks much slicker too. Is the bag for the 2x1 larger than the 1x1? I'm guessing it doesn't fold in half or anything and is one rigid piece.
@buddyfx7026
@buddyfx7026 7 месяцев назад
the frame on the amarans (old ones) are horrible but they're offering upgrades to the new frames which are leaps and bounds better. That said, these look killer!

If you think about this for your home studio due to wall distance, remember that light can be reflected… mount a normal one behind you on the ceiling and light shape it to reflect from a surface of the wall.
@dathofilms

Assuming you have white walls. For any other color bouncing would not work.

@@dathofilms yeah, thats why I said surface not wall. If you are on a dime / have none white walls: nail two bed sheets on top another against the wall

Would you say this is a replacement for a more traditional key light? I have a fanless Godox UL150 with a Neewer 24" octagon soft box. I see you're using it as a key light in your video and it looks great. Just wondering if it could be a 100% replacement for what I've got and take up less space in my small studio. Thanks
@robinprobyn1971
@robinprobyn1971 7 месяцев назад
even 2x1 is a small source to get a decent soft key , unless your frame is very tight and you can get the light in close ie softness is dependent on size of source to object. with the current trend to always have 2 cameras , the wide frame will mean you have to move the light farther away and so it will get harder on the subject . But for a travel , better than nothing these look great .The power cable built into the bottom of the light like that is a bit of a worry though .

@@robinprobyn1971 Thank you for responding! @zy_cheng what are your thoughts?
@zy_cheng
@zy_cheng 7 месяцев назад
I'd say the results would be very comparable to a 24" softbox if we're talking about the Pavoslim 120C. There's definitely bigger softboxes out there, but in terms of space-saving it would definitely have a huge advantage over a COB + softbox setup. I agree with what @robinprobyn1971 said that it would have to be rather close to you in order for the light to be decently soft, so to a large degree it would also depend on what your framing is able to accommodate.
@chris
@chris 7 месяцев назад
@@zy_cheng Thanks boss! Appreciate your input. Considering the 120!
@robinprobyn1971
@robinprobyn1971 7 месяцев назад
@@zy_cheng Don't get me wrong ,it looks like a great light , I was just giving my personal opinion that unless you can get the light close , that size of any light , as with a 24 inch soft box as you point out , is not big enough for interviews . And also agree these panel lights are definitely a better option ,as a soft key interview light , than COB with a massive , 4 foot deep, soft box taking up half your location , or actually just not even being able to set them up or the time and effort to set up a book light.

it's FANTASTIC, but for the same price, I can get the f21c or f22c from Aputure. quite messy to set up, but more bang for the buck considering it is flexible, has more output, and is larger. the f21c cost the same as the pavoslim 60.
