My best bet would be Hammerfell. What would be even better would be Hammerfell + High Rock. What I would love would be the whole of Tamriel. But I understand that is unrealistic. What would be AMAZING would be Akavir. The lore there, while sparse, is really interesting. The races sound awesome.

I genuinely have this map framed on my wall. It was my grandad's, as he got me into Skyrim. He's gone, but I will never forget. I will one day play the next game with my memories of him a long side me. :)

Still coming back to this video years later. One compelling point for High Rock is that Bethesda said the first thing they do before creating a game is start by writing the music. They then start building the game around that feel.

I’m hoping for multiple provinces to be available. Like Hammerfell and High Rock, or Valenwood and Elsweyr.

Although I think the location will probably be High Rock or possibly Hammerfell I would love to see a game set in Elsweyr.

I think that something people forget is that borders change as time progresses. Maybe ES6 might take place another 100 or 200 years in the future, and the countries will have different borders and sizes to them.

It gives a more cozy feel, sort of like if you were to add a warm hue, at least in my opinion. Felt a bit more huddled up. To me it seems more appropriate given the fact it's still ASMR. I had no problem seeing the map, though I totally get the brighter lights for clarity. Thanks again!

It's totally Hammerfell. "Mediterranean terrain", the stone fort design, This vid convinced me. Only way we are seeing High Rock is if the game encompasses both regions. by the way Satakalaam or Lainlyn(assuming rivers are minor) at around 50:00 seems to match the floodplains in the trailer, going by that map.

I think it's a bit funny you talk about High Rock not fitting the tone of the trailer when I think it's by far the most fitting; Hammerfell is largely desert, a much more Middle-Eastern feel overall. It does have more Mediterranean-feeling parts to the north that may fit, but those don't fit the possible coastlines we could be seeing and as you said many times, the overall tone is very different to what the teaser presents. High Rock on the other hand is certainly more Western-European in parts, but as the name of the region very clearly tells you, in-game texts say its defining characteristic is "rugged highlands"; it fits the feel of the teaser perfectly in my opinion.

I think it would make sense to be Hammerfell. If the sea is to the right, and we’re heading south, then it could be said we’re heading south *from* Skyrim, which has something of a linear, progression-style feel to have the camera take us (the player) out of Skyrim (the location of TES 5) and south into Hammerfell for TES 6.

Judging by the teaser hammer fell looks pretty right to me, maybe high rock as well.

Hammerfell isn’t all dry, though. It’s a big province and there is a city there that looks to be only a few miles (and I mean a *few*, less than the length of Lake Ilinolta) from Falkreath in Skyrim, which is known for being very wet. Doubt it transitions from rainforest to desert that quickly, meaning eastern HF is likely wet / green. Yeah it’s not on the coast but if you’re going with overall “feel” Hammerfell is just as split as High Rock. My guess is either Hammerfell or High Rock, but there isn’t enough evidence to go on just yet. We’ll probably just have to be patient and wait it out.

Been watching your vids of Elder scrolls these past days. Just find you channel. And to have a new vid about it it amazing. A couple of seconds video gets us fans specualting so much is great as a community

It would make the most sense for this to be an iliac bay game with both provinces just like daggerfall (except with the full provinces I assume). I’m not a fan of it though as i would much prefer to go to a new province we haven’t seen before that’s actually unique and diverse like Elsweyre, blackmarsh, etc. or even akavir! I would love to learn more about akavir and dive into its lore in its own dedicated game

I don't know how much of a nerd this makes me, but, I had a dream the other night about another trailer coming out in the future and the setting of the game was set in Hammerfell! But then it took a weird turn and the Redguards were fighting dinosaurs....

If we use the Throat of the world to Goldenglow Estate as a reference to scale. you can measure whether or not you can see that far across the landscape/ water. In doing so you could approve or disprove that the Elder Scrolls 6 could be set in Elsweyr if the sun were rising in the trailer. This could be the camera panning across the coast near the Topal bay area of water. This would also make sense with the dusty, desert type landscape we can see.

You're right about the area around Northpoint not matching what is seen in the teaser trailer. That area of High Rock (at least, in ESO) is quite rainy and kind of dark and dreary. It really doesn't fit the vibe the trailer gives off at all. So, I think it's safe to rule out that area of High Rock.

The tapping and tracing on the map sounds are to die for. So tingly Nick! =)

If its High Rock and Hammerfell I hope we'll see some minor after effects or references to the dragon break (The Warp in the West) that happened there. I also want to see the Adamantine tower.

At a cursory glance, I'd have pegged the castle we see as possibly being Skywatch, in the Summerset Isles, it's on a northward stretch of land, next to the sea, and certainly made sense to me. But honestly, after recapping on Arena, Skywatch a Port town, canonically destroyed, I'm left a little stumped. I had hoped we might get a chance to visit the setting for Arena again, with revamped graphics.

I think it could be Hammerfell and High Rock. If you compare High Rock to anywhere the game has been set in the past before, it is incredibly small and narrow to be an exclusive game setting so it would make sense to throw them together for varied terrain and make the map expansive. Guaranteed it isn't Morrowind. Even more of a gurantee that isn't Black Marsh..

Seeing how Hammerfell and especially High Rock look like in ESO. I'd gladly go there next!

I know the exact real-life castle the one in the trailer is based off of, as well as the exact location in which they’ve been taking some scans for TES 6. I know I haven’t substantiated anything yet, but let me just say it definitely takes place in Hammerfell.

I still think the sun is setting or rising behind the camera and the mountains it passes. Maybe I'm crazy but I can't shake my mind off it Plus, you know - coming from a white fog over mountains (Skyrim, where we were before?), a European-style castle and music of the same theme makes me think High Rock. Lore wise it's basically just Europe.

Why has no one explored that it could take place somewhere else on Nirn? Like Akavir? It's even stated in this video.. ES games have never repeated the main location of a game. "Redfall" does sound like a combo of HighRock and Hammerfell. Like the fall of the red guards in hammerfell. But no one is hardly even looking into a setting outside of Tamriel...

I just wanna say that your intro is probably the coolest I've seen

you going through maps works like nothing else on me, it’s crazy!

I would love to see TES6 set in both regions, personally. High Rock's european style courts/castles would probably feel familiar (maybe even nostalgic) to those who have played a lot of TES4. I think that bethesda would do a good job to make High Rock's culture/atmosphere feel unique from TES4's, despite both High Rock and Cyrodiil having somewhat similar court systems and cultures. And, surely, in a game based on Breton culture, they'd include better vanilla magic for people that would play Breton mages. But TES6: Hammerfell would be so fun and unique. Imagine travelling through a desert (maybe on a big dumb camel) and seeing some dwemer ruins half-buried under the sand, waiting to be explored. But I can't help but think that a middle-eastern/north african take on TES is super ballsy. The scandinavian feel of TES5 was very different from the classic medieval feel of TES4, yes, but its holds and environments remained vaguely familiar. I feel like TES6: Hammerfell would feel too foreign for some fans, so maybe integrating some (or all *fingers crossed*) of High Rock would help the player feel rooted in the classic medieval TES atmosphere. Anyway, we'll get our answer when they release more ESO content. If they add a bunch of High Rock stuff, then TES6 will probably just be set in Hammerfell, and vice versa. Here's to hoping that ESO dicks off and doesn't release anything on High Rock or Hammerfell, so we can be blown away with all the content of TES6.

There is snow in the distance in the trailer so you've gotta give that thought of which direction the camera is pointing.

Just wanted to point out, that the terrain of the trailer,matches the terain of Southern Europe islands and a big part of the Middle Eastern regions or Minor Asia regions.Plus the names that Hammerfell has in each region,resemble many Southern Parts of Europe i.e Greece,Turkey (Antiphyllos,Cybiades,,AyiaSofya) and Minor Asia.Guess we will have to wait!Cheers!

I’m gonna put my theory here just cause. The peninsula part of summerset isle is where I think the teaser was. In the distance you can see some buildings making me think it is near a city of some sort. Plus the exposed coastline and the mountains. That is my guess. Also, regarding ESO, while the expansion was released there they could very easily have a game there taking place toward the time when the elves were leaving the isles. High rock being my next guess because it’s never truly explored. Whereas hammerfell had both arena and daggerfall (yes both were 8-16 bit so not much there but 2 games for one province) TL;DR Guesses are either summerset isles or High Rock

The Myrkwasa shoreline in Hammerfell is exactly what’s in the teaser. The curves and peninsulas are spiking in resemblance, and the distant province in the teaser could very well be ‘Pothago’ (i think it’s called that. I can’t really see it)

There is some big evidence backing up the possibility of ES6 being in the continent of Akavir, and you pointing out the sun location helped me conclude that it is likely there. New area never explored but mentioned many times throughout the ES series (multiple invasions, report on the disaster at ionith book)

The interesting thing is everyone trying to guess the location of The Elder Scrolls 6. But I don't remember anyone noticing the size of High Rock. Bethesda can't make a world in TES 6 smaller than in Skyrim. I it's indeed the High Rock then it won't be the only location. They will include Hammerfell as well.

4:35 that looks like a bizarre-o version of Europe. A really skinny Italy to the south, thicc France with no Spain/Portugal. What looks to be the Netherlands in the NW. Big boi Sweden centered a little too far west, etc.

I can see the new game focusing around the iliac bay, probably around the Adamantine tower as all major elder scrolls games have focused around the destruction or involvement of one of the towers.

As a stressed out major TES fan, this hits every spot!

Firstly, I loved the video! However, at 33:50 Todd Howard mentioned at E3 that they developed a new engine that has “X” amount more detail than the last Fallout game. So the engine that they have for ESO 6 could in fact cover this distance with said detail. Todd Howard gave some crazy number so I forgot the exact amount... All I know is that the draw distance looked insane for Fallout 76!!!!

I haven't really looked into this sort of thing yet, and I don't know much about the extended lore of Elder Scrolls (beyond some very basic general locations). If we're going with the idea of feel though, it suggests to me that there's going to be a sea component, to some degree. If we go with the idea that the music sounds like High Rock, but the landscape suggests Hammerfell, then it really could be both locations. If we emphasize tone and feel and atmosphere over specifics, then the overall scene could be taken as a very artistically stylized look at things people will be doing. I think with the success of games like Breath of the Wild with its notable climbing mechanics, and games like Assasin's Creed Black Flag with its sea fairing mechanic, and taking into consideration that Bethesda REALLY needs to do more with their game engine, I don't think it would be unreasonable to look at that whole trailer as suggesting a game based on land (I don't know if the percentage of land visible is indicative to the percentage of game that will take place on it), have a sea travel aspect in some way, have notable climbing mechanics via the varied terrain, have cities, ruins, and notable locations like the craters. The details of the trailer are enough to suggest Hammerfell and High Rock as major locations. However, it's also possible they set the game far enough in the future that certain elements of a landscape might change.

Could that crater on the left side of the ruins in the trailer be Azra's Crossing?

I think they'll try to Play it safe, so a pretty Standard medieval Setting, which is why they don't set the game in the more Alien lands like elsweyr and blackmarsh. After the surprise hit that was Skyrim, they want a Skyrim 2.

If the game is taking place on Tamriel, than High Rock is the obvious venue, but I have a firm belief that the next place is going to be somewhere outside Tamriel, Pyandonea, for instance.

I always thought they would do Elsweyr AND Valenwood. For one, map sizes combined (assuming that the scale is accurate) are roughly the same size as Cyrodil or Skyrim. For two, Elsweyr lore is really complex and confusing. Could be risky to do, unless they combined it with a more stereotypical fantasy setting like Valenwood. For three, there could be really interesting gameplay/story dynamics if you have 2 provinces. (Cultural differences, boarder crossing, war?) and for four, Thalmor storyline progression, with it being close to Summerset isle. (but not there yet, as I think it would be foolish to conclude the Thalmor rule any time soon)

I understand that, at the time, it was because of technical limitations, but if I recall correctly you cannot see mainland Morrowind anywhere off of the coasts of Vvardenfell. If that map is meant to stay true to that in terms of scale, it is safe to say that almost all of the large and identifiable bodies of water you pointed out are also large enough that you cannot see the coasts on their opposite banks, opening up quite a few more locations as possibilities, including the Iliac Bay on either bank. Then again, I can’t recall whether or not you could for those bodies of water in Cyrodiil from when I played Oblivion, which is about the same size as the distance of Morrowind to Vvardenfell, so I could quite easily be wrong. Either way, I don’t think that this notion changes literally _anything,_ I just wanted to point out an example of the potential inconsistencies Bethesda has that you brought up in the video
