On Wednesday, May 22, the Montverde Academy softball team won its first FHSAA state championship in program history with a 2-1 8-inning win over defending state champion Calvary Christian.

The state championship by the softball team was a very fitting ending for MVA athletics in 2023-24. In 2023-24 MVA teams combined to win 28 total championships, including 10 Citrus League, 6 FHSAA Districts, 6 FHSAA Regionals, 4 FHSAA States and 2 High School Nationals.
