Today, Coach Phil and I will be going over the importance of correct body positioning to establish a healthy hand path for delivery! We will also touch on how the hips & shoulders are involved in pitching!
Side note: Please excuse how terrible and over exaggerated I am when I try to demonstrate mechanics incorrectly! I genuinely have a hard time demonstrating things like pre-tracking and crow-hopping and it can end up looking little ridiculous!!

Hi friends! It has been pointed out to me that in this video my hips looks very closed. You are all correct! Sadly I am extremely hyper-mobile and sometimes my movements can look over exaggerated, apologies for that! But the separation between the upper and lower body is very important to understand, I have a great photo of it posted on my instagram stories if you all would like to check it out!! Thank you for understanding and I will try to dial it back next time haha

This is a great video! At the 8:09 mark you’ve clearly explained my daughter’s issue. Thank you!

Great Video! If you could a slow motion video of front and side of a full pitch would be so helpful for my daughter.

I have question, years of pitching on my end and also a pitching coach. What is the advantage of not teaching girls to keep hand/finger placement behind the ball upon release? It often looks as if your hips come around early and your hand turns over upon releasing the ball. Totally know there are different ways to throw a fastpitch ( I myself predominantly threw a cut fastball) Physically, I'm understanding you have the advantage of more mobility with longer arms, hand size etc. But with girls who are shorter, shorter arms, smaller hands, etc isn't there a possibility turning their hand over and not keeping it behind the ball prior to release could slow them down? I was on the shorter size for a pitcher (5''5" and the best velocity for me came with keeping my hand behind the ball and not having my elbow bent in upon release. I am just wondering because I always like to look for different approaches when coaching!

What is your theory with forearm peer because it’s logs like your elbow may get injured. That will cause elbow injuries. There is a lot of twork on the elbow.

My daughter stays on plane decent, she's only 9 first year pitching, she does have a habit of hitting her hip with the pitching hand from time to time during her pitch,

My daughter is just starting out, what is the easiest way to get her to understand the back foot position after she’s made the pitch? Thank you for your awesome videos

How do i get a lesson with coach Phil? He's the only person with the perfect biomechanics that ive seen. Like a 1 on 1 with my 10u daughter?

I wish you would show coach Jill throw some actual pitches , twice at regular speed, twice more in slow motion, so we could see the full motion in continuation.

Hi! This is Coach Jill! I would be happy to film a video of me throwing a pitch (it would probably be into a tarp because I have no one to catch for me) and share it but it might be a while because I am currently pregnant. Once I am recovered I would be happy to share one
